  1. I've always had good taste bro. We're so much alike in that respect😊 Octopus and a refreshing glass of Blue Nun. Lovely😁 Sis
  2. I hope all goes well for your hubby, and that your health continues to improve.x Avril
  3. Ooops, just seen Sarah's posts on Ventura and Iona threads. Avril
  4. I last posted 1st Nov. I noticed that Sarah's last post was the same day and she didn't post again until the day before me, so I kept trying and hey presto(not Presto2😁) it finally worked. That being said, I don't think I've seen another of her posts since🤔 Avril
  5. Thanks zap. I was begining to feel very lonely on the outside looking in for over 16 days. Avril
  6. Our fuel allowance has stuffed the coke store to the brim. 22 bags at £21cwt a bag (hopefully enough to see us through the winter🤞) and little left for a tiny splurge. Maybe an expensive bottle of wine for Christmas🍷 Blue Nun do you think?😂 Avril
  7. I think there are many of us who can remember having to live like that. Thinking back, yes it was hard, but in some ways we were lucky, because we hadn't been used to living in the way they are now, which is why they are finding it more difficult to cope. We had to save for what we wanted and make do with what we could afford, but now many are living beyond their means with the live-now-pay-later attitude, and those that fell into that trap are most likely the ones struggling now. Those around my age will have coped through 3 recessions and I learned many lessons that have stuck with me. The main ones being no debt, and no waste. Avril
  8. We're both very well thank you, just really frustrated at not being able to reply to posters that were worried. I hope you had a good holiday. Avril
  9. Around their necks of course. Where else?😇 Avril
  10. Thank you Josy. I don't think I will dare to log out now just in case😁 Avril
  11. AT LAST.✨ Good evening all, it's good to be back. I've been unable to log in until now. Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to those I've missed, and bon voyage to those on holiday. Avril
  12. You both look beautiful, and your hubby also has a good sense of style.😉 Avril
  13. Good morning. No trick or treaters here either, only my great-grandson via Whatsapp, dressed in black pj's with a fluorescent green skeleton on the front, trying to look menacing. He tried his best bless him, but with such a cute face he couldn't quite pull it off. Better luck next year.😊 Strange weather. Lovely sunny day yesterday, 16c then a rainy evening followed by howling winds and torrential rain overnight. Now we have light winds, a blue sky, sunshine, 14c and a messy garden to clean up😏 Have a good everyone. x Avril
  14. Learning from your own mistakes is the only way to learn. I learned from mine, and I've never made the same mistake again. Avril
  15. So the idyllic large house in the rural countryside comes at a hefty price?😲 Not so idyllic after all. Another dream shattered😒 Avril
  16. I would think that your total gas and electricity versus my electricity and solid fuel costs would be much the same if either of us had the time or inclination to work out😁 However, as long as they are paid, I'm content. Avril
  17. Our last electricity bill, September, was £136. This latest one, but only 26 days, was £133 before the £66 discount. After what I was expecting, I'll take it. Avril
  18. There are 4 of us wowzz so the shower, washer and cooking is obviously double, and they do pay towards the bill. Your gas water heater will make a difference as mine is heated with the solid fuel. It's been about 15 years since I had a monthly bill as low as yours. Do you have gas central heating? Avril
  19. Only for the turkey kalos. Everything else will go in the air fryer(I hope)😉 Avril
  20. I don't have gas zap only electricity, and the central heating is solid fuel. Before this recent increase our electric bills were averaging £135 month. I don't have a tumble drier or dishwasher, just the normal fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, cooker,(but now using air fryer instead) shower, tv, lighting etc. I've yet to see if, or by how much the solid fuel prices have increased🤞 Avril
  21. I paid our first (increased) electric bill yesterday, and I'm sure the air fryer was a very useful investment. It was only 26 days instead of the usual month so I divided the bill (before the discount) by 26, multiplied it by 30 and estimated the approx increase from last month. If my calculations are correct🤔??? then it is a monthly increase of about £22 We've used the same appliances as we normally would, so any saving is down to the air fryer. Maths isn't my strongest suit so I may have got this totally wrong. 🥴 All replies gratefully accepted😊 Avril .
  22. Happy birthday Presto. The perfect day for spoiling yourself so shop til you drop😁 Avril
