Christmas seems to have become more stressful as I've got older. Even 5 years ago I didn't feel like this. I think the past 3 years may have taken it's toll on some of us. I have all the presents bought and the christmas food ordered, so I'm prepared, I only need to try and find my christmas spirit, and not that which comes from a bottle.😉 My get-up-and-go just got-up-and-went and wish it would come back again soon.😁 Sorry to be so gloomy🙂 Must try better.🥾 Avril

Our 16 night cruise is £240pp OBC, that along with a very good cruise price price seemed to be quite a good offer. If It looks too good to be true etc, etc........... We can only wait and see🤞 Avril

I have agree with you. I am surprised by the lack of Christmas lights around here too. I'm used to seeing lights on early, but even the houses opposite which were always well lit around the end of November are in darkness. Even mine , which is normally decorated on the December 1st, but that's down to lack of enthusiasum I'm afraid. I'm feeling a real 'Bah Humbug' this year unusually😒 Avril

I certainly hope not Josy. We have our 1st post covid cruise on her next year. Having said that, when we booked it was an excellent price for 16 nights and the OBC is very generous, more than we've had on longer cruises. We even managed to get out first choice cabin so............? Avril

Good morning. Dull and dismal here again today and a lovely 3 degrees (good group😉) I'll get that one in before kalos😁 I'm totally confused about this EDF thingy, I can't understand it all🤔. A good thing it doesn't apply to us. I know the cost of electricity has shot up and I do try to cut down on usage, as we all are, but when we're cold we make sure the fire is banked up and the pump is on, when I need to wash, I wash, when we're ready to eat, I cook with the air fryer and/ or microwave where I can. We save in other ways where possible, but it would drive me nuts to have a smart meter and to constantly check how much I use hourly or daily. Still trying to dredge up some enthusiasum to decorate the christmas tree, but it's still sat in the loft patiently waiting. Maybe next week. Take care everyone.x Avril

That's taken me back about 60 years Harry and made me chuckle. When we moved to Barnsley from Staines, we were in the local butchers and Mum asked for a pound of chipolatas. The assistant looked confused and said 'What' so Mum repeated it and she said 'Sorry luv, we dun't sell that' Mum pointed them out in the cabinet and the assistant said ' Oh tha' means links a thin' 😄 It's a funny old world.😊 Avril

I love a bargain. About 8 years ago Frank needed a new dinner suit, as he couldn't fasten the trousers properly. Browsing the sales in Barnsley's M&S I came across pair of trousers, his size, expanding waistband and a 'proper' sewn in, not stitched on silk stripe down the leg. They were a good match with the jacket, and at £25 I couldn't refuse. The following week in the M&S sale in Meadowhall I couldn't believe my luck when I found the matching jacket, with silk lapels for £60. I saved about £200 on that dinner suit and was really proud of myself. I hope it gets another airing soon😉 Avril

We used to watch all football many years ago when real footballers actually played football😏 Nowadays the majority of top team players are, overpaid, prima donnas vying for an Oscar in method acting, or a gold medal in gymnastics. Obviously this is just my personal opinion. We do still enjoy watching athletics and gymnastics etc, ski jumping and speedway, but that's all now. Avril

Frank too, he's on Pizotifen. It doen't stop them completely, but he maybe only has a couple a year instead of 3 or 4 a month and they aren't as severe. His are a result of an accident at work years ago. Nasty things. Avril

Went Frank had his scan they said he could bring a CD and they'd play it through for him. He took 'War of the Worlds' both voices and music and he said it worked a treat. Avril

I ordered an expensive Pokemon collectors set for the grandson's christms presesnt,and it arrived 15 days ago. The tracking info a week ago was saying 'running late' As of yesterday it now says 'Your parcel may be lost. It could still arrive or apply for a refund' I wonder how many unscrupulous people would try that on. Avril

I think so, at least I hope so as we have our lights on all day too. It makes the house feel warm and cosy. Avril

It's still tipping it down here and has been for weeks, apart from the odd day or two. The water butts are full to the brim, the lawns are drowning, and even the pond is overflowing, but strangely enough we still have a hosepipe ban in place🥴 Avril
