  1. How is your grandson now Michelle? A little better I hope. Avril
  2. My mum always baked too, but the kunzle cakes were a treat. We would look forward to them on birthdays, christmas, easter and so on. Avril
  3. Oh my, Kunzle cakes. I do remember those. Mum would buy them often when I was young. A big chocolate cup with a small piece of sponge in the bottom, and filled to top with a flavoured synthetic cream. Full of sugar, fats, colours, and flavourings. Pure heaven for kids.🤭 My arteries are cringing at the memory🥴 Avril
  4. I totally agree with you about racism as we have experienced it in our family, and I was certainly not playing any games with you, that's not like me at all. I thought we were having an intelligent debate together, but I obviously, unintentionally ruffled your feathers, and for that I apologise. Avril
  5. That's what I assumed too, but the media like to spice things up. Excellent memory recall the lady has. Avril
  6. Not loyalty at all zap. Just reading and listening with an open mind. It's just basic commonsense. Why do you think it was necessary to go with a recording device? It's a genuine question Zap, I don't want to argue with you , I'm just interested 😊 Avril
  7. Hmm, I know. Strange that. Wonder why it was recorded. Is my sarcasm coming across ok?😁😉 Avril
  8. We've had 3 through the post so far. My sister posted her card from Stockport 12th December and it arrived yesterday. My friend posted my card in Darfield, 4 miles away, 7th December and still waiting. The card from my cousin in Twickenham took 2 days.😏 Postal strike aside, I find it quite sad that the number of cards I'm sending each year and the number of cards recieved are becoming less and less😒 On to nicer things. A lovely bright morning, the sun is shining and it's quite pleasant at 9c. Washing on the line (well airer) and waiting for the text to tell me what will be missing or subbed in my Asda order😁 Have good day everyone and enjoy the unseasonal weather while you can. Take care. Avril
  9. I'm an unapologetic monarchist Harry. The reason I refuse to listen to this diatribe that seems to be the 'main news' is because no family royal or otherwise, should spout such venom, and hatred about them to the world. I'm not stating an opinion on the truth of it or not, only that it was a diabolical thing to do. I won't say any more on the subject except that everyone has the right to privacy, not a select one or two. Avril
  10. Mine too kalos. It's lovely to breathe cool fresh air again instead of dry centrally heated stuff. I've been standing at the back porch door breathing in lungfuls of it. Wonderful😊 Avril
  11. Sorry I'm still whispering Dave. I don't know how to shout any louder on here so this is the best I can do. I hope you're better soon. Avril
  12. They call it progress Sharon, which isn't always a good thing. Avril
  13. WOW!!! I'm glad I don't have to do your accounts bro😲 Mine is much simpler. A list of monthly incomings with dates and one of outgoings with dates, (thankfully smaller than the incomings.)😉 An account book with columns headed :- Date, Details, Debit, Credit, Acc Total, Saving, Disp(money left for everyday expenditures) It may seem inefficient to some, but it's served me well for along time and suits my non- mathatical brain. Whatever works for each person and keeps the finances under control is good👍 Sis
  14. I don't have to imagine, I know what they say. 😁 Avril
  15. I use the calculator to check my figures, and I'm always right, of course😊 Avril
  16. I've been working that way since we were first married in 1965, and put in charge of all the finances. I didn't have a computer until 2008, and although my grandson tried to show me numerous times how to do spreadsheets etc, I still felt more confident doing it the old way. Keeps the brain active too working out the figures, but I now double check on the calculator😉 Avril
  17. I'm still using the old fashioned method of account book and pen, although I have stepped into the modern world now and use a calculator. Avril
  18. All bad things come in threes, so that should be the end of it. Main thing is BIL is fine and the leak has been stopped by the local handy plumber😉 Don't worry about the airfryer either bro. It can be operated easily, even if you have a missing finger😄 Sis
  19. In almost 3 years on this forum and the time while lurking, you have made me laugh. You're a real funny fella kalos, but this post cracked me up. I can't get the image out of my mind, of you in those boots, skating down the pavement with sparks flying. I laughed so much I couldn't stop and tears were streaming down my face. I'm at it again now just typing this.🤣 Avril
