  1. You're probably right. Costa coffee certainly has never tasted as good on P&O ships as it does on land in their own coffee shops
  2. Well you should steer clear of Costa! I used to enjoy Costa Coffee on P&O until a couple of years ago when it became weak and nasty tasting. Particularly, for some obscure reason, in the Atrium on Britannia. Maybe they used the grounds twice to save money!! The chocolate is ok though.
  3. Like everybody I sympathise with your predicament but I am at a loss to understand why you think P&O should refund you. P&O are, most definitely, are not liable for your losses, that is why you take out insurance. Surely once the diagnosis and tests are complete they will be able to deal with your claim.
  4. Just hope for calm seas that far forward and high up!
  5. On my last booking, a couple of weeks ago, I selected Freedom by mistake. I rang P&O, the phone was answered in minutes, my booking was changed to First Sitting Club Dining, my request for table size was added and an updated confirmation of booking was received instantly by email. Now that is service!
  6. I still don't see how the collapse of P&O will benefit anybody at the moment but you are entitled to your opinion.
  7. Thanks emam. I've got the adaptor - what's the worst that can happen😱
  8. Excellent news and Poundland sell US to UK adaptors for £1 - bargain!!
  9. Thanks very much for that info. I'll definitely give it a try then.
  10. You're probably right. Further research suggests that the two pin socket may well be UK voltage BUT the dryer is US voltage and has a transformer in its plug allowing it to function. I'll have to leave a pair of shoes behind to fit in my wifes hair dryer in my suitcase!!
  11. Thanks for that, I hadn't considered the voltage of the hair dryer. So, anybody on Britannia at the moment that can check out the voltage of the hairdryer or, probably, any of the older P&O ships that probably have the same hairdryers.
  12. Recent cruises on Britannia have thrown up an issue for my wife using the hair dryer provided by P&O. She is more than happy with the performance of the dryer but NOT where she has to use it. The only place it can be plugged in is at the dressing table and she wants to be able to plug it in by the full length mirror, which only has a UK three pin socket. Does anybody know what sort of plug is fitted to the P&O hair dryer so that I can get an adaptor to use it in UK sockets. All I can remember is that it had two flat pins on it. Many thanks.
  13. After I had paid my on board account at the end of a P&O cruise another charge turned up on my credit card, a day later, which I had no recollection of. I didn't bother trying to contact P&O but I did tell my CC company. They notified P&O of the disputed charge but they never bothered responding them. My CC company then deleted the charge from my account and I never had to pay it.
  14. I don't get it either. 22 years ago I retired after watching the time all my working life and haven't worn a watch since!
  15. In fairness I should have added that the (same) diner was turned away on both occasions.
  16. I'm probably over reacting slightly BUT it's hard to overlook the drunkenness, fighting and people queuing for Club Dining in the evening wearing shorts and a T shirt! I will probably go back to Aurora or Arcadia in future.
  17. You are not alone! On my last cruise Marseilles was also cancelled and Toulon used instead. I was, however, pleasantly surprised with Toulon and in fact preferred it to Marseilles.
  18. I did visited Butlins locally , once, and will never go again. The same will probably apply to Britannia and, as far as I am concerned neither are particularly decent places!
  19. Judging by my last Britannia cruise in June I would liken that, not as Easy Jet, but more like Butlins at sea!
  20. I agree but, in actual fact, I'd suggest a Plan A with someone like Randox, for example, and keep Lloyds as Plan B as you can cancel it at short notice without cost whereas the others need up front payment and prior notice.
  21. Last time I cruised on Britannia a few weeks back I was told that themed nights were cancelled due to Covid Protocols. Those hawaian shirts are notorious for spreading viruses!!
