  1. Solos pay the cost of two people for the upgrade. As a solo I never bid as I don’t think it’s right to pay double. They price them at what they think and experience tells them people will pay.
  2. Think it’s meant as derogatory and certainly not funny. However having just got off Queen Anne it’s not what I would describe the experience. Had a great time.
  3. I don’t know if you are aware you will need to buy it to a dispensing chemist. You can only buy it in places like Superdrug if they have a pharmacy in store. There are two Boots branches where you can buy in Southampton near the docks.
  4. The confirmation invoice is your original booking one. It confirms you paid for the cruise when it was booked and the itinerary.
  5. I corrected my original post the plaque is in the Panorama Club same place. Don’t remember seeing the bell anywhere.
  6. Apparently Marks and Spencer shoes have something in their construction which makes the buzzers go off. One of the ladies manning the machine told me if wearing M and S shoes take off just in case. As I buy all my shoes there I just automatically take them off now as I go through.
  7. It seemed to be working fine on Sunday as I said the only people fussing were those who wanted to get off before their colour was called. They had plenty of Cunard staff marshalling everyone certainly don’t need to involve Intercruises. There were no crowd hazards just a long queue from what I could see. Plenty of people sat down waiting for their colour to be called.
  8. I just tear off the little square .
  9. Yes I have often come back from breakfast and my two single beds have been remade back as a double ready for next occupants. Think my cabin was supposed to be available from 1 30 but I was on just after 12 30 and could leave my bag and pick up card.
  10. First time I have seen it too but officers definitely asking people in queue what their colour was and turning away those who had a different colour. I am commenting on my personal experience Sunday morning so may be different to others. I was waiting next to gangway as had a quick question to check with loyalty sales and there was a short queue around 9 to speak to them. We were sailing at capacity and returning after a 2 week cruise.
  11. Correction I meant Panorama Club . Too late to correct original
  12. Yes and no. You had to be out of the cabin by 9. You were also given a lounge to wait in until you were called. I waited on deck as it was sunny and I wasn’t until 10 .
  13. I thought it was all very smooth too. Had 10:00 I was waiting by loyalty sales at one point and the only complaints were from people trying to leave before their colour had been called and kicking off when they were told to go back to lounge and wait as that colour baggage had not been off loaded yet. It’s same principle as embarkation if everyone sticks to the time they are given rather than what they want it all runs smoothly. Disembarkation has the bonus if you don’t find the time allocated convenient you can ask to change. Had to get another tag from Purser’s desk and there were plenty of folk doing that.
  14. The enrichment talks will only be on the sea days but will be of comparative quality. Will be more British guests. To be honest having done both didn’t really notice the difference .
  15. Fincantieri plaque is on the wall of the Pavilion Club behind / above the stage.
  16. I thought a pitcher was a jug ? I have never seen tea served in a jug ? Only ever seen it served in a teapot or a coffee pot if it was coffee. Even hot chocolate when you have room service comes in a pot .
  17. I would book for the two of you to lock in the price and OBC Last year I booked a 3 berth cabin for myself and 2 daughters on QM2. Sometime later they decided their partners wanted to come so needed to book 2 extra cabins Cunard just repriced the original cabin as a solo and I just had to pay the balance when due which wasn’t as much as I had paid a bigger initial deposit thinking it was for 3. No financial loss or dramas.
  18. Gibraltar doesn’t have free Cunard or port shuttle buses but there are plentiful minivans for £4 return. Only take cash though
  19. Perhaps people who have done it have booked the staterooms as 2 individuals perhaps to get round the rules.
  20. Variety of hop on hop off options. I had an enjoyable tour on one and then walked back to shuttle bus through the town. I am easily pleased though.
  21. I did a return T A last summer. Went on an excellent Cunard Tour lasted about 4 and half hours by coach saw all the main sites. As a solo female in her mid sixties it was perfect for me to get a quick taste of New York. We had an half hour stop at the 9/11 memorial. Well worth it in my opinion. There were other Cunard options available. .
  22. I can access everything even with just deposit paid within a few hours of booking. I have no more access when I have paid final balance and twice total error on my part have been a day late with final payment and no dramas. Always book direct though.
