  1. We will be on insig Dec 2024...a lot can happen in that time... All up to who the chef is and staff.
  2. I am glad you are able to enjoy this cabin. I will do all I can so someone else can enjoy it May 1, 2025.
  3. When I booked this cruise, if only an HC was available, I should have been placed on a wait list. I would have had a regular cabin now and someone who needs an HC would be accommodated. At time of booking I did not know it was an HC. I am hopeful that with the amount of time till sailing, this can be resolved.
  4. B5 cabins are highly sought after. There are very few accessible cabins. It is unbelievable that O would give a cabin like this to someone who does not want or need it. Not sure what it is in my power to do. I have written to my O rep and to my TA. Bottom line, I will NOT occupy a cabin that others may need.
  5. Yes amazing sale. Many were able to take advantage of it. Thank you to original poster for letting all of know.
  6. I have yet to find a TA that is good with rebates and service. It's pretty much one or the other. Mine said our original price is best. I didn't trust it. Got in touch with the O rep we deal with. He reprised it and said the same thing. Him I trust.
  7. What is that? Will be on Regatta in Sept. I don't eat selfish.
  8. The Allura is also coming out. The Vista won't be the new kid on the block. In any case two years is a long time, anything can happen. I'm glad I put this topic up, as there are others that have been part of this experience and were able to tell me that no way will I want to keep this cabin for myself.
  9. Will keep watching and hope that with time something will come up. The b5 are much coveted, now having a lengthy wait list, b4 has a wait list as well. Maybe once the Vista sails people will not like the French balcony. Not likely to happen. With two years away, a promo may come up and give us a chance to maybe rebook. Although that too is unlikely with a new ship.
  10. I just let the TA know to let O know, if anyone needs the handicap cabin. I am not allowed to waitlist a different cabin in the same cat, I already pursued that. You can only waitlist for a different category. Yes will watch for openings, but now the two bottom ones are waitlisted.
  11. no sale...booked it when it first came out...
  12. yes did that right after booking it with the O rep. Will appraise the TA of the situation, but really dont think anything will be done about it, but I could be wrong, it has happened many times before...lol....
  13. thank you for your advice...yes will just keep watching... thank you for the description also...no one should take a handicap cabin and deprive someone that really needs it...I am surprised it was so easily given to us, instead of just being put on a wait list for a B5....
  14. maybe should wait and offer to pay for an upgrade...it is two years away... but I agree with the advice given here, NO way to sail in a handicap unless you need it....
  15. yes I will cancel the sailing... thank you for the description...
  16. much more expensive....2000 pp CAD more.... the whole idea booking when it first came out is to get lowest rate...now it has all gone up, as it should... maybe O will need handicap cabin for someone else.... anyone have that happen to them?
  17. oh wow...please tell me why never again... now the nearest available is quite a bit more expensive..... I needed to get this done when I first booked...O rep said, handicap mostly like regular.... what about people who may need a handicap and we are occupying it...you would think O would not have given it to us without reason....
  18. will keep watching it... anyone in a handicap cabin and didnt need it? just doesnt feel right to be in it when someone else may really need it..
  19. Our O rep, got the last B5, French Balcony cabin for us on the Vista sailing for May 1, 2025. We dont need a handicap cabin and feel guilty having one. I am watching the B5 category to see if another french balcony becomes available, but that cat and the one above it B4 is waitlisted, so not likely to come up. Any thoughts?
  20. Hope all is well with O. Not sure how the sale will impact the actual cruises. On an Azamara ship, when many paid rock bottom price due to a big sale, every thing was different. Different food, short staffed, etc, to make up for losses. Cant imagine O would do that, not a way to attract future cruisers. I also hope the fire sale does not attract the kind of crowd that exists on other lines. Hope the price is still high enough to keep it classy, no kids, no rowdy families. Love the classy atmosphere of O, no belly flopping contests, no newly not so newly wed games...all typical of Celebrity. Please keep sailing Celeb if you enjoy that.
  21. Someone else said the sale ends in June.
  22. Yup big transformation for us. All it took is a cruise with Viking to have us running back to O. This time to stay.and build loyalty.
  23. We have also evolved from over 50 cruises with celeb, 2 azamara, 4 royal, 3 Viking...to only Oceania.. big regret giving celeb all that loyalty with nothing to show for it. Oceania has the best loyalty program. Can't wait to reach 10 and have included gratuities and 20 with a free cruise. Looking forward to our 6th, 7th and 8th in the fall.
  24. yes that was definitely me...you are right... I still think O is too gourmet for my liking...too much shellfish, too many international dishes...too many seasonings I dont like...and someone did say , just stick to mcds... but unlike Viking, I always find something on O that pleases me...that was not the case with V...the good news, is weight loss...they do have an amazing wrap around walking deck, so not eating, walking the big track was good for the weight.... weight is not a big deal tho....once I come home it all comes off...no prob.... the desserts alone on O, did me in on part of a cruise in November, then the pastry chef changed and I didnt touch them again... the Ice cream on V, is made with ice water...NO cream...vile stuff....powdered orange juice..you can get the real stuff but from bar only.... guess it is good once in a while to try a line that you know it not to your liking, to appreciate what you have with others...
  25. Since getting off a Viking ship, I have become very protective of O. Every day of the 13 days on the Viking Star, we said, we wished we were on an O ship. Others that had not done O, found Viking just fine, although many did say the food was not up to standards. Very hard not to compare when we are now cruising every few months and have fresh memories of each experience.
