  1. Or they could go back to the old system of two sittings for saver fare and freedom for select. They would know how many staff to provide at any given time, as they used to. Seemed to work well for years. It seems to me, and this is only my opinion, of course, that most of the queueing problems stem from two things; firstly, a lack of staff (and the adequate training thereof), and the app that isn't.
  2. My wife bought me a bottle. Bloody awful! The wine, not the wife....
  3. We saw him on Iona in November on the second of the two cruises he was on. It's £10 each to enter, and you can add the names of anyone you are travelling with on the entry form. Think our cruise raised just short of £25000, and slightly less on the previous cruise. Not a fan of his or Take That, up to that point, but would happily pay full price to go and see him again. Great evening for a worthy cause.
  4. Sounds like they might be shifting the itinerary around to suit their needs.
  5. Probably depends where you're going. We were on Iona in november in the Canaries and used the jacuzzi quite a lot. There are a lot of them to chose from.
  6. Perhaps a trip to South America? Bound to find a Banana Republic there....
  7. Hi, There's plenty of live music available until quite late. Have a great holiday 👍
  8. Tablelamp, do you, like me, remember the old days when you had to put the telly on at tea time to give it a chance to warm up enough to watch the news at ten? Same tellies on Ventura.
  9. I am Uncle Ethel. I use a PC at work, in a limited capacity, have a smart phone and a tablet at home, and am happy to use them to the limit of my abilities. Emails, bit of shopping for stuff not available locally, that type of stuff. No idea how to upload, what a pdf is or what to do when they ask you to sign a form online. But I get by, and am capable of using the app. But, we both still work, and so spend much of our time "on the clock". We don't want to have to do the same on holiday. We've been on ten P&O cruises, and perhaps we have just been lucky, but before the introduction of the app that isn't, we don't recall any queues other than at reception. IMHO. (That's an abbreviation for "in my humble opinion "). Learnt that on the Internet....😉
  10. Oh no!! Was there a ding-dong at the ping-pong????😁
  11. I do think that while there is always the scope for issues with the mechanics etc of a new ship, P&O have more than enough experience launching them to be able to get the customer service side right. Staffing levels, training etc are all management issues. This seems to me to be the biggest problem at the moment.
  12. Perhaps the amount of security staff is not the only problem, more so P&O's apparent reluctance to act speedily and firmly with any initial bad behaviour? I can't help but think a "short, sharp shock" and a public announcement as to the offenders punishment and the fact that their behaviour is unacceptable, may have a calming effect on any further wrongdoing? Just a thought....
  13. Having read the reports re the plumbing, it's more likely to be a bucket I'd take.
  14. Just had a vision of the oil tanker on Water World, Dennis Hopper as the captain!
  15. It's not. Overflowing cabin toilets and no showers for two days on Azura a few years ago. Not nice.
  16. Bird sanctuary for us. Now in direct competition with the Wildfowl trust😜
  17. Loved the one cruise we had on Oceana. Thought the sale of her was agreed well before covid?
  18. Loved the one cruise we had on Oceana. Thought the sale of her was agreed well before covid?
  19. Thanks for that, wowzz. Although it sounds like the cruise will be memorable for all the wrong reasons!!!
  20. Would you mind letting us know their response please, wowzz?
  21. About 17 miles/25 minutes. Nothing wrong with the airport, never said there was, it's the restrictions around it at the time and associated other problems. Turn up 3 hours before flight was due (May be different now). Flight delayed, nobody could/would tell us why. Flying into a headwind added more time (I know, nobody's to blame for the weather). Waiting over an hour for luggage. Coach transfer to the hotel (multiple hotel drops, last off). I actually like the physical experience of flying, but it was a terrible start to a holiday. We don't want to put ourselves in a position where it could be repeated, so don't. Much more enjoyable, for us, to drive to Southampton the night before, stay in a hotel, have a nice meal, and let the wife do some shopping before we embark.
