  1. We were on Aurora last month. It looked like a lot of the carpets in the public areas were new, as was the sink in our bathroom, or at least it appeared to be. The silicone around it was, anyway! Lots of the chairs are in need of replacement. Comfortable enough, but worn. Carpet in our cabin had a couple of large stains. TV was a flatscreen, but operated like an old analogue, no built in guide, hit and miss picture quality. Some corridor carpets worn, and some window frames needed a lick of paint. Lots of new sun loungers. Immaculately clean in all areas though, excellent staff, and the best mdr food we've had with P&O.
  2. Heard a rumour that they're using the biscuits to try to catch more prawns.
  3. Last month we embarked Aurora via gate 10, but disembarked via gate 20. 10 is much more direct.
  4. Supplied on Aurora last month.
  5. We returned from our Aurora cruise last Friday, where the food was probably the best we've had with P&O. Consistently good portions, hot food was hot and so were the plates. Shared different tables every night and heard nothing but praise.
  6. Warburtons and Hovis cornered the market, I believe.
  7. I believe shuttle buses are £4 per person, each way.
  8. So should he be regarded as a more valued customer than someone who books an inside cabin two or three times a year, spending, say 5 or 6 weeks a year onboard? With less obc and thus a bigger bill at the end possibly?
  9. Good to hear. On her for the first time two weeks today.
  10. If you shout "ICEBERG" they all run to the back of the ship!
  11. Hi, If I'm not mistaken your account number should appear on your booking confirmation. It's alpha numerical and mine is two letters, five numbers and a final letter, eg AB12345C My wife's follows the same pattern so I'm guessing they're all similar. Hope this helps.
  12. I'd just like to echo everybody else and say thank you for an informative and comprehensive set of reviews. Hope you're looking forward to your next cruise as much as we are looking forward to reading about it!
  13. Nice to see some traditions are being upheld, although it's probably just a matter of time.
  14. My money was on the West Indian guy from Birmingham, the one that carves matchsticks..... Or Sir Trevor McDoughnut. Or Lenny Henry as Sir Trevor Mcdoughnut...
  15. That's about the price of one Norwegian afternoon tea!
  16. Myself and my wife are booked on R305 in April. Whilst I fully understand the p&o fluid pricing policy, and am willing to take the hit if it applies, it does annoy slightly that the holiday is now almost £1000 cheaper than when we booked. We have to book well in advance as we are both still working, and have to fit our annual leave in with other team members. By the time we have the flexibility to choose, we won't be able to afford it!!😂
  17. Also bear in mind that all occupants of the cabin have to sign up for the package. Not worth it for us as the the wife doesn't drink enough.
  18. It's all of my 5 a day......🍷🍷
  19. Yep, they're still there, just a bit further on in the process.
  20. I wouldn't expect them, or any other business, to fully absorb all the recent price increases. As you say, they need to secure their future and some costs will be passed on. But they also need to be aware that they have set a standard which their paying passengers have come to expect, and that while cost cutting in some areas is understandable and acceptable (evening turndown, for instance, is not something we miss), in others they are falling short. Poor staff training was one we encountered on Iona in November. Perhaps if they were more upfront and honest about the issues they are currently having and the resulting impact on customer satisfaction, people would be more understanding and less ready to shout from the rooftops about how terrible they think P&O have become. It's all about finding a balance, and whilst it won't stop us cruising with them, I think they are quite a way off at the moment.
