  1. We're with you on this. It's a holiday, and I think it's really unfair to be asked, or even expected, to pre plan your meals and activities a month in advance. If others don't mind then that's fine, but it's not for us.
  2. P&O making rules up to suit themselves again. If you try to upgrade an already booked cabin because, due to a special offer, a balcony is only slightly more expensive than the inside you booked on release, and it comes with a considerable amount of extra obc, you can't. You have to pay the difference in price at the time you booked. Unfair of them not to follow that rule in compensating their customers. Feel for those who have lost their holiday.
  3. Our phones will be locked in the safe on arrival and only removed to make an occasional call home when in port. We are both still at work, and subsequently our lives are ruled by "the clock". Our holidays are precious to us, to a little bit of "our" time that give us a break from the rigmarole of the daily grind. The only time we'll be consulting our watches will be to check we're not late back on board.
  4. Sorry, incorrect regarding M&S not selling suits. Bought one less than a month ago. Tuxedos also readily available, certainly in the larger stores.
  5. In the last 25 yeas I've bought five sets of clippers at about £25 a set. Cut my own hair and trim my own beard once a week at a cost of £5 a year! Wish I'd gone bald a lot earlier......
  6. It's great fun. When the toboggan ride is over you have a choice of either walking back down the hill or getting one of the queueing taxis back to the top to get the cable car back down.
  7. When I phoned to pay the final balance it had been credited to my account.
  8. I'd keep that email if I were you, just in case. Got £150 for our cruise in November, nothing yet for April next year. Fingers crossed!
  9. Do they stock "Denim"? I'm a man that doesn't have to try too hard....🙂
  10. Boatyard also includes (or did 4 years ago) a trip out in a boat and snorkeling over a wreck. The very generous cocktails were about 6usd each.
  11. Is the problem they have with providing the family attracting facilities of RCI and others the fact that, due to the limitations of school holidays in the UK, they would only be feasible to families at limited times? And therefore, possibly not cost effective in terms of investment? I'm thinking Easter and summer break, so 9 or 10 weeks a year. How many would be willing to pay a fine for taking a couple of kids out of school in term time? BTW, I have no idea about what holidays they get, or what the rules are, in the USA, for example.
  12. Yes, if you have a Defence discount card you can apply for extra obc at any time by calling customer services. Might be a different rate though, as I only got £100 for a two week cruise.
  13. Not just tribute acts to be seen. Kiki Dee in 2015 in the Limelight on Brittannia. Very, very good. And she took time to chat to everyone afterwards, and around the ship for the duration she was on board.
  14. Unless the rules have changed, and if I'm not wrong, you won't benefit until your third cruise. As you say, you don't qualify for membership until you've done fifteen nights, but it doesn't start part way through a cruise. Your 14 nights will be added to the twelve from 2019, giving you 260 points. The first 15 nights (150 points) will be deducted from this, giving you 110 points to qualify.
  15. Sorry to hear that. Can I ask what has happened between you booking the cruise and now to make you feel like this?
  16. We booked very early on for G237 in November and chose the car parking over the obc, so no obc at all. My brother and his wife booked to come with us two weeks ago (their first cruise), at roughly the same price as us but with car parking and £450 obc! They've just informed us that they've also been given an extra £150!!! Very pleased for them and anyone else in the same position. It would be nice if P&O could dig a bit deeper for their regulars, but still very glad to accept their offer.
  17. T&C's state this is £75 each for the first two passengers, regardless of fare types, so this is where the £150 max comes from, not the cabin type. Unless I've misread it, but don't think I have. Balance is due on the 14th. Do you think that if we hold off paying for another week they'll increase the offer?😁
  18. Customs checks? Not something we ever experienced when returning from a cruise. The only time we've ever even seen any border force/customs officers was on coming back from the Caribbean. Three young lads and a very disinterested looking dog! Dare say he might have perked up if he'd got a whiff of something!
  19. Glad to hear your good news. Hope all goes well for you all.
  20. Society may be to blame, up to a point, for a general fall in standards, but if people are dressing like this then should it not be up to P&O staff to enforce the dress code?
  21. Missed out on Grenada in 2018. Pre-printed letters were available from reception on request. We got £100 each from insure&go.
  22. And, generally, the cheaper the cost of the holiday, possibly resulting in greater uptake. Making cruising more popular. Creating the need for more ships.
