  1. I called at 1500 today, was speaking to a US agent in less than five minutes. All of the ladies in reservations are a huge asset whom are always very helpful.
  2. God Save The Queen Feels very strange to think we now have a King after a lifetime of familiarity.
  3. If you’re talking about Level, it’s not an absolutely terrible experience. Premium economy is the same seat and service as Iberia, down the back the pitch is maybe tighter than you would ideally want and you’re going to pay for beverages. For under $200 I’d take it. You’re not going to get much more for a huge amount more ,money on any of the full service carriers.
  4. Seems to be numbers related. If I am correct on high occupancy sailings The Patio is open for dinner service, on lower occupancy it isn’t. Disappointing to say the least. Such a pleasant venue on a warm evening.
  5. Looking at this from a different angle, aren’t you tempted to test prior to embarkation anyway? I will certainly take an lateral flow test prior to boarding a ship for two weeks. For my own peace of mind. I would not want to board a ship knowing I had Covid and could infect others. Would not want to face the prospect of isolating onboard either. While I absolutely understand what you are saying regarding the prospect of testing positive, I rather feel you may be simplifying the situation. I have two cruises with stops in Bermuda which I fully expect to be missed due to the logistics and have received no communication with regard to testing or the travel authority application. In my opinion no cruise line is going to take the expense a full ship testing and the implications to follow with any positive cases when the port stop is only seven hours or so.

    Embarkation Day

Certain you can’t drop luggage and return, nor complete check in and boarding to then leave the ship on embarkation day. Tried doing this many years ago in Istanbul. Quite sure someone else will be along to confirm or deny.
  7. Never noticed the emery board. So many times I wished I had one after hacking at a broken nail with nail clippers. shower caps are so versatile. don’t forget housekeeping will bring razors and shaving foam if asked. Also available in the locker room.
  8. I’ve often called room service for coffee very early or wondered up to Windows in the middle of the night. There’s always a machine available. Look on the other side if one is in cleaning cycle or turned off. There is also a coffee station set up on the pool deck by around 0600 at the smoking area.

    Coming Back

I rather like the Deck 4 cabins. My personal view is they feel more spacious than the balcony cabins. Clearly they aren’t, maybe it’s just the difference in layout.

    Coming Back

I have 40 nights booked on Onward and feel no apprehension at all. I did cruise last year from August and found Azamara procedures implemented much better than my other experience with another line a few weeks earlier. There have been small issues I have been unhappy with, however, five minutes and a glass of champagne later they were always forgotten. Nothing serious. The service and onboard experience is still as good as ever. I don’t expect to have anything less than a brilliant time onboard and other than complaining to myself about the tonic and possible wine substitutions I know everything will be perfect. Any small issues I may find I know will be resolved so there’s no need to worry.

    luggage tags

Now I once again hang my head in shame. In my defence I don’t remember the last time I received physical labels and I’m certainly not going to be printing and cutting out.

    luggage tags

I’ve never had tags when arriving at the pier, the baggage handlers just ask your stateroom number and tag the bag accordingly. No need to have any concerns.
  13. Aren’t the tables predating the acquisition from Princess?
  14. I have had Lanson, Clicquot and Taittinger onboard this year, all of which were enjoyed in generous supply. Would be very nice to see a permanent upgrade in the champagne. In the UK the general wholesale availability of half bottles of spirits has certainly changed and prices have increased a little.

    smoke a cigar

Uktog - Explora looks very interesting and has some great pricing for next year. Along with some some eyebrow raising pricing also. donaldsc - think you’re confusing yourself, we aren’t talking about the Hindenburg. 😉 Forgive my humour. Some cigars have a wonderful aroma, can’t smoke one at all, always liked the smell of a good cigar, even when I didn’t smoke. Understand what you’re saying though, the smell of any smoking can linger.
  16. Had I seen that happen I would certainly have had plenty to say. Total lack of manners and common courtesy. Another advantage of the smoking area is being right next to the bar and the door to the bar. Most attentive drinks service on deck. There’s no need to go to the bar.

    smoke a cigar

Now you’re making me wonder which cruise lines allow smoking indoors these days. I recall a cigar room on a couple of ships in the past. Don’t remember the last time I smoked indoors on a ship, even in the casino. The first time I was on Azamara, smoking was allowed along one side of the living room, obviously the casino and the deck area was two tables on the opposite side of the bar to the current area. Much better arrangement now.
  18. Riocca - thank you. Was hoping that would be the case.
  19. How does asking for a change with the Atlas Cocktails from vodka to gin go down? Have employed mixologists in the past whom were a little too obsessed with their creations and refused to make substitutions without a few cross words. Experienced the same in bars across the world.

    smoke a cigar

Grandma Cruising, I quite appreciate how smoking can and does effect people. Especially with chest complaints thrown into the mix. There’s a huge difference between the drama some unnecessarily cause and people whom are caused discomfort. Picked up my first cigarette in my mid thirties and feel I am particularly aware of the smoke and odour issue. We become fewer as each year passes.
  21. Always the most fun and welcoming place to be and quite correct, always non smokers there. Sometimes takes people a day or two to find us. Can honestly say Azamara are the only ships I have never for a moment felt lonely while travelling alone.
  22. Is anyone onboard Onward able to take a pic of the smoking area? Or offer any comment in comparison to the other ships. Saw a video which panned by for a split second and the furnishing did not look comfortable at all and certainly not the same as the other ships. As I intend spending forty or so days there in the coming months I am a little curious.

The smoking area on the pool deck. Very comfortable, very sociable and the Living Room take care of drinks service in the evening after the pool bar closes. Heat lamps and blankets in the evening if a little chilly. Due to Covid even the over dramatic fake coughing by the odd anti smoker passing by has almost dried up entirely.
  24. Lisiamc, do not disagree with anything you say at all.
  25. Does anyone else feel the menus in Prime C and Aqualina really need to be given some attention. Lazy and repetitive.. No substantial change ever and having two fillet options on the Prime C menu to fill a space is very lazy. Writing a menu and throwing in a few French words to hide repetitive options is not clever. The whole concept feels dated in the offering. The actual overall experience is so far removed from anything premium it’s almost an insult to pay a supplement to dine there. More tabled jammed in both venues and a very lacking choice of options. That said, I will still eat there and happily pay. My comments are more frustration at the lack of vision than criticism.
