Pier Runners on Icon of the seas.
Jkaczanowski replied to granger's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We used to cruise “the mouse” pre-Covid. When “the mouse” said all aboard was 3PM, the gang way was pulled exactly at 3PM. I think RC is extremely lenient as I RARELY have seen a RC ship leave on time. And anyone leisurely walking back to the ship after all-aboard reeks of entitlement. -

Flow Rider on Symphony of the Seas
Jkaczanowski replied to xtrail's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Charge is for a group lesson (usually (6-8 guests) or for private rental (ultimate experience in cruise planner). No additional charge for boogie, self assist, mixed wave, or advanced stand up sessions -
Cans of soda are available on Harmony but are not included in the soda package. They are included in the refreshment and deluxe beverage packages.

Ultimate World Cruise stats

Royal suite on Serenade only sleeps 4. They may have family sailing with them in another room. And, yes, I know genie perks are only supposed to be for the people sailing in the suite, -
A New Hampshire couple gave a first hand account on our local news https://www.wmur.com/article/new-hampshire-couple-bahamas-ferry-sinking/45865912# They said they still had to take a ferry back once they were rescued so sounds like incident occurred close to Blue Lagoon. I read it was 10:30 so surmise it was on the way there

Odyssey of the Seas Junior Suites
Jkaczanowski replied to TheHawk1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Loved the Odyssey junior suites right by the elevators. While they only hold 2 people, they are spa juniors so have a much nice shower. -

Favourite Royal Caribbean Embarcation Port
Jkaczanowski replied to Airbear232's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Anywhere but Bayonne. Bayonne’s port staff are the rudest around. Fort Lauderdale is great - friendly staff, close to airport, direct flights from Boston, good hotels. -
Star class on Cocco Cay
Jkaczanowski replied to Mainemermaid's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No. No benefit to being Star on coco cay except maybe your genie getting you off the ship quicker. Still need to pay for beach club if you want to go there -
PAYING for Pizza in Sorrento’s
Jkaczanowski replied to Slidell_Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have 2 teen boys. Sorrentos is their “go to” for pre dinner or later night snack. When they’re feeling like being nice kids, they even bring me and DH pieces back to the room. Not abnormal for them to get 6 pieces each (none gets wasted). Even at $1 a slice, I’d be pissed. -
Teens returning to ship alone?
Jkaczanowski replied to fishiecrackers's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Our experience too in May. Sent 15 and 16 year olds back to ship in Ephesus, Turkey and another port in Europe. Weren’t tendering ports but there were no problems. -
Teen Activities on Oasis
Jkaczanowski replied to seasidemama's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The cruise planner does not include all the activities that are offered - only the major ones. We’ve done 7 or 8 cruises since the restart and it seems like the majority of activities each night are listed on a bulletin / white board in the club each day. On several cruises there were also “teen” cruise planners available on the ship (Oasis was one but was >1 year ago.). My social teen has never said he’s bored and was definitely not roaming the ship. going to Sorrentos with friends, yes but not roaming. -
The Key + Tender Ports
Jkaczanowski replied to aroundtheworld96's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have key for my Liberty sailing from Bayonne Tuesday. My set sail pass check in time is 11, but key letter says to arrive 11:30-12. So there may be a slight advantage to checking in when it opens especially since Bayonne traffic seems better earlier. For Odyssey in May, key disembark came after Self carry at roughly same time as suite/pinnacle. -
The Key + Tender Ports

Odyssey Key in May at Santorini - we were given 3 times (half hour apart) we could meet somewhere on ship (I think Boleros?) and be escorted to tender -

Sitting at Rome Fumicino airport waiting for flight home… Hotel Golden family suite was excellent. 250 euro per night Suite was 2 bedrooms with a foyer with table. 10 minutes to Spanish steps and Borghese Gallery. Good coffee shop right next door with croissants and pastries. It is up a big hill so great heading out in the morning, but consider taxi back at night. Would definitely stay here again if we return

Also just used Fast track. If anything it added time for us. got to line for fast track. Employee told us that we could only use it if we were flying first/business class and it was on our boarding pass. Showed her our paper work and she said it was for lounges and boarding plane only. I told her she was wrong and she reluctantly let us try where it “remarkably” worked. Would not use it again.

Surviving the Ship’s Laundry?
Jkaczanowski replied to LB_NJ's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The $35 laundry special bag on Odyssey. Clothes laid flat in a pile and rolled tight - like rolling a sleeping bag. We’re on a 12 day Odyssey cruise with our 2 teens and sent out T-shirt’s, shorts, pajamas, underwear, and socks twice. Used diamond discount so $25 each time. Did not notice any problems with the clothes when they came back.
