  1. As I understand it; Deck 6 is traditional seating. Most likely around 5 PM and 7:30 PM. same table, same people unless you have a table for 2. Deck 7 is anytime seating. You can choose a time to be seated & if its's vacant when you arrive then you'll be seated immediately. Otherwise there may be a short wait. You also can just show up without reservations & be seated at the next available table but people with reservations will be seated first.
  2. If I have to buy them from Princess, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of another sale.😒
  3. But look at it this way, my wife doesn't use the internet at all and I hardly use it for more than a few minutes a day. I get free Wi-Fi at all of our Caribbean stops - it's slow but it's free if I want it. I get all the national news I need on the cabin TV. If I drink 1 cup of their special coffees a day, that's it- mostly hot choc and that's free as well as reg. coffee. Juice's are free in the morning & we always bring some back to the cabin for mixers to go with our liquor. Plus we bring our own wine at embarkation plus renew supply at each port. My wife might have 1 drink per day, myself 2 or 3 if I force myself. We get drinks at Capt. party & MT lunch all the time. So $140 per day on a 10 day trip = $1,400 and no longer sounds like any bargain.
  4. And you don't have to purchase that package for both people in the same cabin.
  5. Look for some really short cruises if you can spare the time & you'll get there faster. We hate moving & will do anything to avoid it. Although it doesn't take to much time to move, we'd rather get off the ship early & go for a walk in Ft Lauderdale.
  6. I suppose a few people could look at it that way. When I pay for something I weight the price of what I'm receiving for the money & without any alcohol it's just doesn't make any sense at all. Princess must really love those types of cruisers. 😍
  7. It must have something to do with your app. It's working for Nov.
  8. Was there a big lineup to get tickets?
  9. They'd like you think you don't but it's priced to Princess's advantage that unless you do, they're making a killing on the package. Most of the cost is based on the alcohol and they know that the average cruiser won't come close to the max.
  10. Princess is beginning to tick me off with all their extra charges. Not that the other lines don't do the same but after 21 years I would like to see a few new shows.
  11. Thanks. We've been travelling so long with Princess I've lost touch with the way other cruise lines operate. 😄 I think it due time to experience something new again.
  12. I just found an old brochure from early 2011 with my old number which I had saved. I didn't realize I had a membership number, but evidently from my previous trips they converted it to 69 points. I can't log in with that number but I did with a new password this morning. Now all I have to do is get them to credit my account correctly. Another question- if I'm on a cruise & reach 80 points during that trip, when will the new membership level take affect? I'm thinking probably the next cruise?
  13. So now their handing out tickets ! Since it only seats 250 people max, there must have been quite a line up. What times were the shows?
  14. It's been many years since our last RCI cruise and our profile no longer shows credit for past cruises. Has anyone had any luck in getting past cruises credited to their account? I've sent them an email but haven't heard a word back from them. Thanks.
  15. If deck 6 is really true traditional then anyone at the door has to have a standing reservation/table for the whole cruise. That is of course unless they have an open table where they could seat you on a moments notice. You would still have to be finished by the time they begin to setup for the next group. I'm still wondering if it's as popular with many people. They've been wishing for it even since they changed to DMW.
  16. Thanks for the review and I agree that the ship layout does seem confusing. We're booked on it but unless I'm totally impressed I doubt if we'll return for a second cruise. I've read that the seating in the Dome is very limited and people begin to line up hours before showtime. Do you recall what times the shows were? We were totally happy with the Royal class ships and will probably stick with them in the future.
  17. I didn't want to give an exact time when smart casual was acceptable on formal nights but like you say it has been a while.
  18. You obviously haven't cruised 10 or more years prior on Princess. Although it wasn't true formal back then, they did require a jacket which then became a long sleeve dress shirt a time progressed. At least today we all have an option to dress as we feel appropriate.
  19. I think you may be right about that although we always enjoyed seeing the latest copy on our coffee table. The last one we have is dated 2022.
  20. I only wonder what took Princess so long to relax their dress code, especially since all the other cruise line did many years prior. Could it be that they were hoping to rise above the other lines & be considered a premium cruise line, similar to Cunard? Anyway, it's nice to know that our vacations can now be enjoyed without having to conform to any specific form of dress.
  21. Many people do just as you say & bring them additional bottles back at each port. Although they're suppose to turn them in, most just carry them to the cabin to drink. I've never paid them a corkage charge.
  22. I just wear what makes me feel comfortable. If it's warm in the DR, it'll be shorts, otherwise jeans which I never wear at home since it's never cool enough.
  23. You mean the published dress suggestions that 99.9% of the people completely disregard. 😆
  24. I never did either until some people on CC seemed to be so concerned about it. I never realized it was that important to some of them. After all is said and done, I wonder how many of those people that felt so strongly about proper dressing up have left Princess for other cruise lines? I suspect that most of them now just accept what Princess has become today.
