  1. You better pray that they don't place you in cabin C602 if you like air conditioning. It might be OK for an Alaskan or NE trip but not in the Caribbean.
  2. I suppose that's one way to interpret it. 😑
  3. They' res something about doing it in person that seems to be more assuring in resolving any problem. I always do it in the early morning hours when there are no lines. I find it more difficult to explain some problems having to put it into words and much easier to do in person.
  4. That's very true but what about consideration for those crew that have to work beyond their daily work schedule? Just because it's posted that you can do it, doesn't make it right.
  5. I think the steak that some people are making reference to is not an included steak at no additional cost. It's been a rare occurrence in the last few years that an included steak has been on the menu, except for the one with the lobster tail.
  6. You've go that right. It's just inconsiderate to force the staff after working long hours to accommodate people eating arriving at the last minute to have to work even longer. They'll never say anything directly to you but I can only imagine what they must be thinking. 🤔
  7. I'm sure they'll be a few of those types on every ship.
  8. You could always arrive a few minutes before 9 PM and they'll still serve you.
  9. I can't blame them in the least... and it could happen again. I'm sure many of the crew have jobs at home & will never return to working on a ship.
  10. Yea I know what you mean but there are still many who like it so they still give them a choice. We sometimes return to the DR after the early show for coffee & desert and I'm surprised at the number of people just getting their main course at 8:45 PM.
  11. Typical early seating is usually around 5:30 PM and late seating around 7:30 PM.
  12. The way I see it is that it's going to make things more efficient for the staff in the traditional DR. They'll have two dining times assigned, which some people just love and they'll be no need to have a hostess greet each couple to ask if they want to sit with others plus not having to record what table they'll be sitting at. As long as they still offer a table for 2 it works for me.
  13. The fee is waved only if you have a package from what I understand. Otherwise the first time you activate it there is a $14.95 charge. Did I misunderstand it?
  14. We always eat early so the way I view it is it doesn't make much difference either way. I can select traditional dining and arrive early without having to wait on line to get to my assigned table or select anytime dining & be seated when I arrive when they first open. I suppose it appeals to those that have been longing for that traditional dining experience to be seated with the same people each night. One thing for certain, it will make seating much easier to the DR personal, not having to keep track of each group at the door each night.
  15. They want to sell their Plus package or Premium package. If you don't then there are charges like the one time $14.99 and if you don't then you can't order drinks or food using the app. It seems to have worked fine last time we used it. Oh btw, you can locate your cabin mate using the kiosks on every floor, just like using the app.
  16. So all they have is a buffet type dining?
  17. The cabin doors as well as the walls in all Princess cabin are sheet steel.
  18. Hang tight, you may get your wish in the near future. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/04/princess-cruises-rolls-out-fleetwide-dining-changes/
  19. That's your view on the subject and from what I've seen there are many who don't share the same opinion.
  20. I'd bring a hard drive or even a thumb drive with my movies on it, eliminating the need for a laptop altogether.
  21. Since the dress code these days is already pretty relaxed with shorts even being overlooked even on formal evenings, why would you think they would be any more strict on the last night? If following their suggested set of rules is important then change after dinner & put your luggage out late.
  22. It's a tough challenge for me.
  23. That seems to happen more when there are a larger number of British cruisers from what I've read. Maybe someday we'll get to experience it for ourselves, but casually dressed.🙂
