I'm guessing you paid for the streaming package.

There goes that extra bag of laundry

I doubt I will get these points. I was on a HAL ship at the time and although I was able to log in, I was never able to complete the video. I didn't buy the stream package. It will be interesting to see if I get the points.

It would be interesting if there is someone with a service dog that has sailed on HAL would describe the process that is required to bring a service dog on a cruise. As I read the FAQ there is a pre-authorization process that is required to sail with a service dog. It would be interesting to know what they are asked about the service dog and if there is any documentation of the dog's skills. My guess is that the people that bring the fake service dogs on-board the ship simply lie during this pre-authorization process and are not challenged at the port during the boarding process or onboard during the cruise.

I'll hit 100 days on day 26 of a 28-day cruise. Do you think the system will respond fast enough for me to get my Bronze Medalion before we leave the ship?

Good news with Celebrity cruise. Report the changes
Ipeeinthepools replied to tomcruiser1234's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Let me see if I understand this correctly. Celebrity made a lot of cutbacks and reductions in service and the passengers complained. So now they re-instated half of the changes and now everyone is happy. Doesn't make sense to me.- 120 replies

Not being able to make reservations pre-cruise is part of the trade-off to get the reduced cost of the package. I'm sure you will always be able to make reservations, but it's likely that it might not be at your first choice of time and/or dates.

Ok, I'll help you. The single piano player concept tends to be more of a sing a long concept. I dislike the concept and based on the lack of crowds it appears that many others avoid the single player performances. I'm not sure why you are having difficulty with the concept that if people don't enjoy the performance, they won't attend. And yes, I don't enjoy listening to the people around me sing. I attend to listen to the performers.

Where are you! We are down at BillBoard waiting for you -
Sounds like a lot of bad design features that should be improved. The local officials need to remember that the cruise lines and the passengers are their customers and they should do everything to make the experience better. Add some Passport control officers. If they aren’t interested, then maybe the cruise lines should move the cruise origin to more friendly port.

We now have people complaining about people complaining.😉

2 piano players the room is packed. 1 piano player the room has many empty seats. I think it’s apparent which is more popular, I’m hoping HAL reverses this budget cut. You are correct about one thing, I’m sure everyone would enjoy a Billy Joel performance. What people don’t enjoy is listening to, is the drunk guy next to me singing Billy Joel songs.

After many years on Celebrity, I have jumped ship and moved over to HAL. HAL is simply a better value proposition for us and HAL has longer more interesting itineraries. There are two features about Celebrity that I miss. First, Celebrity does not allow smoking inside on any ship, period. There is never any second hand smoke drifting through the ship. Second, all Celebrity ships have a Solarium, an indoor, adults only pool area. This area is always quiet and is a great place to read, relax or take a nap. HAL doesn’t have anything even close.

I’m not sure why it would be chaos in Southampton if it works ok in all of the other ports around the world. Sometimes you may have a little wait but it certainly isn’t chaos.

Seems to be a problem with 1 or 2 performers

NEVER book a 7 day Caribbean Cruise on HAL
Ipeeinthepools replied to Real NHDOC's topic in Holland America Line
My favorite MDR experience with kids was on a RCCL cruise several years ago. There were 3 or 4 couples, all with younger children. Instead of mixing in the kids with adults they made one large adult table and one large kid’s table. They actually had another table between the 2 tables, but the result was that the rest of us had to deal with this unruly table of children -
HAL isn’t just grabbing people off the street and putting them onboard ships. These are people that HAL has recruited, tested and trained. HAL has a training session with the piano players where they learn how HAL wants the performances.
