  1. I believe they allow drinking at 18 outside of the US (so a few miles after your leave Miami or all the time in Europe).
  2. One small clarification is that sail away is "bubbles", as in sparkling wine, not technically Champagne. I believe the only free Champagne is Richards Rooftop happy hour and Splash of Romance.
  3. Not that I can answer your question about availability, but I believe typical hotel/cruise mini fridges don't get as cold as your home refrigerator.
  4. I think excursions are a 130-something. I do agree that Brilliant specifically doesn't show up no matter what because it hasn't been enabled. For our other sailings you could do check in and see limited information immediately after booking.
  5. I think Happenings people are closer to a dozen! So many of them, lol
  6. Spa, dining, and entertainment can all be booked once connected to ship WiFi. We noticed on Resilient that its no longer called mermaid4u, instead it was VirginVoyages-Sailor. Not sure if the other ships are the same or different now. You can also book in person during embark and then most departments have hours through out the cruise. It seems like they are moving the locations around so probably best to ask when you board.

  8. It's a little misleading in that the badge is colored in if you have it, gray if you don't. Usually that's an incentive to earn more badges so you can see what you're missing but since it's impossible to become a Sea Blazer anymore I'm not sure why they tease people.
  9. Was it the first night only? There seems to be a delay where the first night opens up on time (early?) and then the rest of the days open up a few hours later.
  10. On our most recent voyage it was $30 for 24 hours, $25/day if you bought the length of the voyage (first day "free"), however we have Deep Blue so didn't pay anything. Have you cruised before? We previously sailed Disney almost exclusively. Tried Royal twice. Virgin is down right cheap compared to those two lines. Disney won't let you stream no matter how much you pay! It's silly to compare land based cellular on a single personal device to thousands of people sharing a satellite connection at sea. Is it expensive? Absolutely. Do they mark it up over their cost? Absolutely. Are they aligned with the industry? Not even close, way better deal.
  11. After a particularly rough day at the pool we declined the Soju at Gunbae and the server asked if we'd like to play with iced tea instead (which we did). In many parts of America sweetened and unsweetened iced tea are available anywhere that sells soda. I do miss that on the ship as I love iced tea. The Galley has it out of a machine (gross) but I have been known to make my own with a couple of glass of ice and a tea bag from the Galley.
  12. If he doesn't make an account he can login to the app with cabin number/birthday once onboard the ship.
  13. We have personalized bands and even got the purple cord to replace the red with for being Sea Blazers. We have been able to reuse them once. The checkin person was very confused and found a supervisor of some sort that said give it a shot and see what happens. Seemed to work no problem.
  14. Some of the current promos end on August 22 so maybe new promos and new itineraries then?
  15. How interesting, I had the burger on Resilient. Sure hope it isn't a fluke because it was delicious. Two smashed patties with blue cheese and gravy.
  16. Razzle replaced the steak and butter chicken with a burger (which is excellent) for their off menu offering.
  17. Hopefully Razzle is just a temporary training issue. When the ship wasn't full Razzle was closed when in Bimini so no one needed to fill in. Now that they run both hopefully they get more proficient at it.
  18. Our friends did it and felt it was an excellent add on. If you don't drink champagne then the math is a little harder to justify. They really enjoyed the snack items that were delivered to the room.
  19. Also, your arrival time is not strictly related to your booking time. You do have to go into the app and actually pick an arrival time. You could be the first person booked but if you don't actually pick a time in the app right away you may be at the end of the line.
  20. We have done Scarlet a couple of times and also Valiant last year (back to back med) and Resilient this year (Mermaiden) and it is definitely different. In the Caribbean we never leave the ship, catch all the shows, and PJ party is a priority. In Europe we do excursions at almost every port and usually pack it in early for the next day's adventure. I don't think that's unique to Virgin though, we followed a similar pattern on Disney.
  21. We have taken Brightline from Ft Lauderdale to the port, it was quite nice and easy. You can book Uber to the port as part of your train ticket and the driver was waiting at the station when we got off the train. Less than 10 minutes to cross the bridge and get dropped off. We are waiting impatiently to be able to take it from Orlando. Not a huge time saver but significantly better than driving!
  22. When we were sailing it didn't matter if we were onboard or shore, it just seemed to be the fact that we were currently on a voyage.
  23. We pre booked 45 days out so that wasn't an issue. We could switch back and forth just fine until the first voyage of the B2B started. But once it started we weren't able to switch anymore. More an annoyance than anything, after some asking around at sailor services they figured out how to look up our bookings for the next voyage since we had forgot what they were.
  24. You definitely cannot switch voyages while on a voyage unless something changed. We did back to back on Valiant last year and were unable to look ahead to the next voyage.
  25. I believe you're referring to Slam Allen. Fantastic showman, you can find his schedule on the ships on his website - https://slamallen.com/upcoming-shows Almost worth scheduling a cruise around his schedule.
