  1. It's like that on every cruise line. On most other cruise lines, depending on special pricing, loyalty rewards, or cabin perks, you have to pay per logon for internet.
  2. Regent doesn't have contract rates on that particular flight. Non stops, especially international, are high profit flights. We're doing Delta from Atlanta to Athens then coming home on Delta from Rome to Atlanta. To get the non-stop on the day that I wanted to fly to Athens was $1300 per person. It was the same even if we went through JFK. So it was worth it to get a non-stop. Cost was still well below what I would have to pay. The flight home had no upcharge because Regent had contract rates on that flight.
  3. That's why I suggested you look on the airline's website before contacting Regent and see if seats are indeed available and how many if it's like Delta where you can view the available seats without booking. I would prefer they'd left it at 270, but they didn't, so that's what we have to do.
  4. Depending on the airline you want to book on, you can always go up on the airline website and select flights you are interested in and, at least on Delta, you can see seats available. But if they offer business class on those flights then seats are available. Then you can present Regent with 3 or 4 alternatives and see what they come back with. No one really knows why they changed to 210 days out, but probably has to do with the air fare structures and all the crazy pricing changes that the airlines do these days. Here is what Regent recommends before you call for deviation: "Before calling our Custom Air Department, we recommend the following steps to allow you to finalize your air arrangements in one call. Check flight availability using your preferred online flight finder. Note any options that are your preferred schedule and routing - including the pricing you would pay independently for each of your chosen flights. Now that you have the price to purchase air independently, you can make an educated decision to use Regent air or book on your own, utilizing our air credit. If you have a preferred carrier or route where Regent requires a price differential, you will also be able to decide between purchasing independent air and taking the air credit or accepting the differential to book the air with Regent. Regent does not profit on air differentials. It helps to be flexible - can you travel an extra day or two prior or stay a day or two later?
  5. If I understand your question, you're considering moving your cruise to one that departs in 10 days? If you want to check out the Shore Excursions, have your TA put a 7 day hold on the. cruise. This will give you a booking number and you'll be able to enter it into your account and then you will be able to see what excursions are available. Haven't tried it for dining but likely would work the same. I don't believe you can select any of the excursions until you officially book, but it should show what has availability and what are full. It's free to try so give it a shot.
  6. OMG...It was a. joke. Get a grip. 😏
  7. Why rush? Just plan room service that night. If you have a butler arrange it through him. If not, no problem. They'll bring it course by course if you want, wine, bar drinks, whatever. Set it up on your balcony and have a quiet dinner looking at the view. Or relax in your cabin with a movie. We've done that a few times. Much more enjoyable.
  8. Maybe it's "if you have to ask the price you can't afford the cruise." 😜 In all likelihood they are not posting prices in the catalog as they could easily be higher when you go to book due to rapidly increasing price of air, hotels, etc. But as Taxer said, if you go on line the prices show up.
  9. We did it last summer on our Regent cruise. I'm a "ship junkie" so I found it really interesting (my wife liked it too). You get dropped at the shipyard docks and walk to the museum. It's flat and we made numerous stops along the walk for the tour guide's narrative. We did not go down the steps like the above poster. Our excursion stayed on the street level. The museum really focuses on the Belfast's involvement in the building of the Titanic, not so much the ship or sinking. We liked that perspective. We also walked to a nearby restaurant for the included snacks and tea. All in all, we enjoyed the excursion and didn't find it strenuous at all and I personally enjoyed it.
  10. I somehow believe that if it's a cruise line the website "leaves a lot to be desired." But I find the Regent website much easier to navigate than Royal Caribbean. An onboard app, like Royal Caribbean's, would be nice though.
  11. We're on this cruise too. Looking forward to it. Hope the recent political upheaval in Israel doesn't affect our port stops.
  12. I agree completely, but I also follow 2 other Regent discussion boards on the other social media platform and there was barely a mention of sewage smells over there. That's a lot of people and I followed a couple of people on the World Cruise who blogged daily. So like everything else, both glowing reviews and negative reviews must be considered carefully.
  13. Don't over react. It's not really "endless reports of sewage and bad service," it's some reports. But Mariner holds 700 passengers. If it was as bad as everyone seems to think it is, there'd be a lot more reports. I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't bear these reports in mind when deciding on such a big commitment, but if there is truly a sewage problem on Mariner it will either be solved in 3 years or out of service in 3 years.
  14. I'm assuming this is pointed directly at me. But in all honesty, you should look in the mirror. You tend to completely ignore the fact that others may also share opinions, and you have shown your fair share of disrespect. You should at least try to practice what you preach.
  15. I guess I get an opinion too , so, to me, you came across as actually sullying the man's reputation. You made a very simple statement that indicated that you thought he was basically "sitting around collecting free money." That may not have been your intention, but that's how it came across to me. No discussions of contracts, buy outs, board actions, etc. Simply in answer to one poster's comment that Jason Montague was in a consulting role, YOU stated simply "He is onboard to for his stock options. I would be very surprised if he was doing anything more than collecting them." Sorry, but I don't read that as being very complimentary to the man. But enough of this. We have beaten this dead horse enough. Time to move on.
  16. It's because I'm not nosy and don't get into other people's business. But according to what was posted, he was being retained as a "consultant." Is that not correct? Did the public filings state that he was only "onboard to for his stock options" as you stated?
  17. Cruise pricing across the industry seems always confusing to me. In fact I'm even confused by the pricing discussion in your post. 😱. So I don't worry about it. I simply email my TA with the cruise I want to go on and she sends me a booking confirmation with a 7 day hold for me to look at. I look at the bottom line and I it's an amount I feel makes the cruise worth it, I book. If not, then I don't. I find that a lot easier than trying to figure out "easy booking discount," "two category upgrade," "Seven Seas Society discount," etc. For me, the only number that matters is the bottom line. Everything else is simply distraction. 😎 P.S. I will do a mock booking on line and see what they say the bottom line is, THEN decide if I want my TA to run the numbers.
  18. Someone else's salary and contract agreements are, seriously, none of my business. Just like my financial information is none of any one else's business. And honestly, I really couldn't care less what others earn or how they earn it. 😏
  19. Probably just a mistake. However with the new policy of $75 to talk to them and arrange custom air, who knows?
  20. Ok. Actually I didn't "read" anything in your posts, I simply took them for face value. Still think it's unnecessary and harsh criticism to publicly state that someone who was well like and respected is collecting a salary for simply being "onboard to for his stock options," and you "would be very surprised if he was doing anything more than collecting them." But whatever you say.
  21. So, I'm curious...what happened with the Bedbugs? Did they get rid of them or what? Cause I don't want no bedbugs on my next cruise! 😱
  22. So stating that "He is onboard to for his stock options. I would be very surprised if he was doing anything more than collecting them". .."has nothing to do with the man personally," but "pertains to all the people who left with a huge golden parachute?" Seems pretty well directed at one individual and his reputation. Apparently you fooled me. Thanks for clearing that up.
  23. If you have to ask the price you can't afford the cruise. 😜
