  1. In most there is a door that appears to be a cabin door with key access that goes into a small hallway where there are two separate cabin doors with separate key access to get into your cabin. So if your sailing with family the first door can remain closed and the cabin doors open or unlocked to share access. If your not with the other cabin folks, you would just be sharing the small hallway and the first door can be propped open, so you don't have to unlock two doors to get into your cabin.
  2. Thanks for the info, I guess I'm doing some metallic cloths shopping. 😄
  3. Just saw a video on this. I'm on Beyond in March, is this an Ascent only pool party? Seems like the other E-class ships I've been on miss the mark for evening pool parties. Virgin Voyages sets the standard IMO for pool deck night time fun.
  4. Every inch of shoreline in St Thomas is public space... There are endless beaches in St Thomas, take your pick. Coki Beach(great snorkeling, more local, can get crowded) Morning Star Beach(close to port) Lindburg Beach (by the airport, kinda close to port) Honeymoon Beach (ferry ride, great beach) Frenchman Bay Beach (kinda secluded, no services) Bolongo Bay (No clue, never been there) The list goes on....
  5. I also did a Night time zip line in San Juan in 2019. I did book that through the cruise line, very cool.
  6. I've done the Bacardi Rum tour in San Juan and really enjoyed it. I booked it directly through Bacardi and took an Uber to and from port. I've been to St Thomas many times, both by cruise ship and staying on the island. Last cruise I took the ferry from Tickles Dockside Pub area to Water Island and spent the day at Dinghy's beach bar (Honeymoon Beach) I will be in St Maarten for the first time in March '24 I am doing a Rhino rider adventure the taking a cab to Maho beach to do drinking and plane watching...
  7. Great review!! I have to agree on the Beef, just not good at all. I chalked it up on my VV cruise, to it being a Mediterranean cruise, I guess that's not the case. Good to know. Thanks again.
  8. I almost cancelled the second cruise I went on (NCL) because of all the whining on cruise critic. Thankfully I didn’t and enjoyed my cruise. I am however done with NCL for various reasons.
  9. It’s an Infinite Veranda, there is no traditional balcony.
  10. It is not a hallway, it’s a solid steel wall of the ship.
  11. There is no fixed dinning on E-class ships, go to whatever dinning room when you want, no issues. I recommend trying Eden for diner at least once, it's gotten a bit pricey now, but IMO still worth it once. Same with Le Voyage, but that IMO is an unreasonable $125pp before any discount.
  12. A similar thing happened for an Ascent Jan. 2024 sailing, I had the opportunity on that one, but already had/have a 10 day'r in March and not enough vacation time, while I was trying to convince myself the pricing went away, still kinda upset, I could have made it work.
  13. Happened to me on probably the same sailing. Xcel had cheap prices for like a day for a Jan 2026 sailing. I couldn't my credit card out faster, and booked at the insane cheap price. 👍
  14. I got the impression on my last two cruises, they are under the don't ask don't tell program.
  15. I was on a Virgin cruise, and it pretty much requires some sort of water bottle... I was apprehensive about packing some big water bottle. It ended up working out great, kept the water cold all day on excursions, I will be bringing my new trusty water bottle on all cruises for now on.
  16. I don’t disagree….IMO the best cabins, other than a Suite, is a SS veranda and that’s what I’m currently booked in… IMO the “worst” suite is deck 6 MCSS….and I’m willing to move-up!!
  17. Let us/me know your thoughts about your move-up from a SS Veranda after your cruise. Assuming its soon, I depart in March.
  18. Enjoy, I assume you were not originally in a suite, great upgrade!! I also have put in a move-up offer for my upcoming sailing, I understand the potential regret. I'm in a Sunset veranda on Beyond and love aft cabins, I have taken everything into consideration (deck 6 Magic Carpet SS) I don't think I'd ever pay $10K plus on that, but for a 10 day cruise I'm willing to make some sacrifices to enjoy the Retreat and that includes getting stuck on deck 6 MCSS. 😂
  19. I always book and pay for the excursions I may be interested in, if a sale, or I change my mind I simply cancel and get refunded. Same with specialty dining... I like to plan my cruise, so booking or canceling excursions on the ship isn't really my style.
  20. My Beyond sailing departs in about 60 days, it is completely sold out as of this morning, other than........The Retreat. I count over 21 available suits for this sailing, most are SS and MC Suites. This seems opposite of my other E-class sailing I've been on, were the suits were usually first to sell out. I wonder if the butler situation has anything to do with this? Hopefully this helps my move-up opportunity!!
  21. Just an observation I had. I personally don't see much Celebrity ads period, let alone during sports...
  22. I booked a 6 day Caribbean SS veranda on Beyond this July as a solo, I booked this around Nov. 2023…. The price for two with AI was reasonable and the price for solo without AI was great IMO. To add AI for the solo was more than the AI for two, so I obviously booked cruise only and will add what I need separately and save thousands.
