  1. I love the embarkation lunch for a variety of reasons. Firstly I enjoy the beef short ribs which I don't make at home. Don't do buffets and get onboard pretty hungry as I only have a coffee prior to getting to the ship. I like relaxing with a glass of wine with my meal while looking out onto the port.
  2. I love both E and S class ships. Itinerary and pricing are important also length of cruise. I no longer wish to do 7 days or less just to much planning traveling and packing involved. My upcoming cruise next week is 10 days and wanting to book an 11 night on Edge for February but prices a bit too steep right now.
  3. Request that they switch the canapés with cheese and crackers hummus and dip some small shrimp or whatever else you prefer
  4. It's good value if slightly more than a regular balcony in a preferred location. I cruise solo often and pay a supplement to do so, have to be careful when spending my cruise dollars since I can get an extra cruise out of the savings. That's my take on it.
  5. I'm traveling solo and did a cruise only fare got a C1 category. 10 nights on the Equinox September 26th. It was quite cheap. Had there been a second guest in my cabin it was pretty close to double the price.
  6. Makes sense. I even like the bottle of bubbly sometimes they give me an extra and I order orange juice and make mimosas even managed to make an aperol spritzer. I'm so excited to be able to sit on this balcony on the wake. I read somewhere its actually a larger verandah.
  7. I like the short ribs they serve during the embarkation lunch. I don't do buffets so this works for me. I'll be hungry when I get onboard and the spa cafe just doesn't cut it. I don't like the mast grill as burgers too greasy and they don't have all the toppings I use when I grill my burgers at home. Yes I know I'm a picky eater but I'm a great cook. 😆
  8. Yes the canapés were not great but not awful. You do know that you can request something else in its place? We got fruit and also hummus and dip also small shrimp. I don't use the bathrobes so can't comment. 5 points per night helps to get to next level. Don't need concierge services. I like the better pillow menu and enhanced breakfast menu.
  9. I don't think anyone would thats why there are so many available shortly before sail date. Twice I booked a balcony when CC dropped after final payment so switched. On this upcoming cruise it was so cheap became a no brainer
  10. In your case it's worth it. I also booked a 10 night CC on the wake of the ship in total was an extra $100 canadian well worth it Just Elite status but 50 extra points will get to Elite plus very soon. My original cabin was a 2D balcony on deck 6 so now in CC on 10.
  11. If you are in a CC everyone gets the enhanced breakfast menu. I remember ordering eggs Benedict topped with smoked salmon and it arrived even with hollandaise sauce. So yummy. Well you know the old saying 'if you don't ask you don't get.' 😆
  12. You're on vacation regardless of what ship. Enjoy. There are so many who would love to be in our shoes.
  13. I've only been on S and E class ships and do love the S class been on all except for Solstice multiple times. Have had some wonderful memories and met some very nice people.
  14. @Cruise a holicnot a fan of the 5 or 10 dollar items either however I did find a pair of Bvlgari sunglasses on a recent Silhouette cruise at 75% off. Turned out the ship had discontinued carrying the brand. What a barhain that was!
  15. We did also. Initially apprehensive to book but wow so beautiful. Love the huge lap pool and Eden. Magic carpet was amazing. Great aft views from Eden. Not a fan of the shops as very pricey but then again I saved some money. So many other areas to love.
  16. Its free for elite guests 1x per sailing elite plus gets 2 x. Otherwise it's on a per item basis and costly. They may have specials onboard.
  17. @mfs2kyou asked if a pair of socks was one or two items and you didn't like my response? Oh please!!!
  18. Its not part of their training just like some TAs have never cruised. I remember calling my bank and asking to be transferred to a county in North America she didn't have a clue. Appears Geography is not part of their training
  19. Its only a good value if you are spending time at the beach. Don't understand why they charge for towels or internet. Most hotels have free internet these days. You need to spend more money at the Galleria mall to use the coupons.
  20. I never have much to send either. I brought a nice dress from home that needed dry cleaning so sent that out then wore on formal night.
  21. I'm ok with the dry cleaning and pressing of items just don't put my things in the dryer I rarely use it at home probably why my dryer still works after 30 plus years. 😆
