  1. Set alarm so my nap wouldn't interfere with watching Rotterdam depart! lol😄
  2. Gerry @ger_77 I love the stories you've told us of this little family from Ukraine. You and your friends helping them is such a blessing. Thank you so much for letting us know about them.❤️ Heavy rain is about to descend upon us. Might be a little lighter up north in Atlanta. And there goes the thunder on cue!
  3. She will be there soon. Need to get Liberty of the Seas settled into its berth first.
  4. Good morning friends! It is 52F and we will only get up to 62 with rain later on. Just what we don't really need. I see 3 days of rain in the forecast for Easter and my birthday weekend. Geez! Thanks to Rich @richwmn for our Fleet Report and Daily information and his comment this morning. It took us until early 1990's to get one of those very large, clunky Motorola mobile phones. Of course we thought it was amazing! In other news, today is Don't Go to Work Unless it's a Fun Day. I hope anyone going to work takes that to heart. ❤️ Maybe if the sun peeps out today I can Find a Rainbow! Not to mention that pot of gold at the end of it. Tweed Day leaves me confused. I don't think I have anything tweed to commemorate. Our quote today is encouraging. Another cod dish? I like cod in my fish and chips but if Debbie @dfish can find some enticing recipes and photos I might try it. The drink seems out of season, and the wine is a chardonnay so no to both. I hope Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope can sell us on them. Thanks to those three ladies and Vanessa @JazzyV for doing the Care and Celebration lists for us each day. We appreciate you! Prayers for the Care list this morning. I hope our friend Joy @Seasick Sailor is doing somewhat better with her cold and the fever left quickly. 🙏 Cheers to our Celebration list people, and to those departing on a cruise, or still on one. 🥂 Bon Voyage to the Rotterdam as they leave on their special voyage today. She is headed towards Port Everglades behind Liberty of the Seas as I type. So sorry to hear about the delays yesterday getting into Half Moon Cay due to an unfortunate death on the ship. Prayers to that person's family and friends. Hope the upcoming anniversary cruise is everything everyone hoped for!🚢 The port of the day is Boston, Massachusetts US which was first (and only time) our port on August 21, 2022. Here is that link if you need it to retrieve photos. Boston is a nice port of call to visit. We visited once on Rotterdam in 2018 on our Montreal to Tampa cruise. I liked the fact we continued past New York to Charleston, Key West and over to Tampa. We arrived in Boston on October 20, 2018 and walked downtown from the pier. Does anyone know what this building is? There were tons of tourists everywhere. We saw the Old South Meeting House (organizing point for the Boston Tea Party on Dec. 16, 1773. The Park Street Congregational Church The Massachusetts State House Across the street from the State House is Boston Common and this sculpture, a memorial for the soldiers of the Civil War. Boston Common is simply a park in the center of Boston This is about all it is, a green area in the midst of the city. Here is the old State House. Interesting old building in the midst of skyscrapers. Honestly I love gardens so this was one of my favorite sights during our time spent in Boston. heading back to the ship That's when I noticed the Boston Tea Party Museum. We had a great time there. Except for the Boston Airport that was my first visit to Boston. Let's hope we all have a safe and Motivated Monday! Off to my treadmill.

  6. Sorry about the flights Debbie @dfish. @Overhead Fred's advice sounds good to me. I'd be ticked off if that happened to me. Hope things work out for you. I can definitely sympathize with you since that happened to us last year. We watched TV, read, and Princess had a lot of excellent music stations to listen to on the TV. Pretend you're in a luxury hotel when you're ordering room service for every meal! If you have a beverage package please order whatever you want and they will bring it. And I hope you both have negative test results very quickly. Funny how things have changed since last summer though. On Island Princess they moved us from our balcony room to an oceanview in the Covid "ward". That was the worst!
  7. Sure, the room was 1838. Quiet too. Hope no one had it "fixed".
  8. Glad I stopped by here before dinner to see the former Prinsendam sail away. Thank you Roy @rafinmd. The coloring is just all wrong on that ship these days.
  9. Didn't seem like anyone on NA requested a "wave" from the cameras. No one was waving as hard as our Dailyites when we sail from PEV. Sea day tomorrow and then Cayman Islands on the 4th for them.
  10. Could have been a sudden medical emergency. Heart attack in buffet or up on deck.
  11. We were out shopping after lunch and I just looked at the clock. Thought I'd missed everything but see NA is still there.
  12. Rich, the Canary Islands are lovely ports and I know you'll enjoy them. After all, that's why Graham @grapau27 and Pauline love to vacation there. 😆 Wonderful warm, sunny days.
  13. We often dine late and I find Chocolate Surprise is about 9:30 pm so there's time to get there if you dine at 8 pm. Can't answer your dual OBC question and unlike some other cruise lines, HAL doesn't make it easy to know when your credits have been applied. You either have to ask your TA to find out, or ask for a confirmation email when you send off for it.
  14. I saw a video showing the amount of prep work and food preparation ahead of time that goes into this island beach day. A ton (maybe not literally) of food goes over to feed everyone their barbecue lunch. If the day is cancelled due to weather/seas I imagine they have to pivot and try to use a lot of that picnic lunch for lunch on the ship, etc. It's great your day is nice and everyone can enjoy Half Moon Cay.🏖️
  15. Yes, thanks for the photos. I just couldn't do wait around for her arrival. That was 3 hours ago and I enjoyed lazing around in bed for a change.😊
  16. Nieuw Amsterdam is not yet into PEV but is following behind Oddysey of the Seas. She was following behind Regal Princess but let OTS slip in ahead of her. I'm going back to bed and will miss it all. Hopefully there will be some photos. I hope to be here later today. It's still early (5:30 am)
  17. Good morning friends! Today it is a rather nondescript day with partly cloudy skies, a temperature of 53F and an expected high of 71. No rain in the forecast. I see the ships coming into Port Everglades but it will be a little while before Nieuw Amsterdam is there. She's following Regal Princess right now. Thank you Rich @richwmn for our Daily and Fleet Report information. We will be celebrating Children's Book Day which will bring a smile to some of our faces. I always enjoyed reading books to my children and grandchildren. Funny how they would sometimes want the same book read to them several times at one sitting. Also it is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. I had a delicious sandwich Friday for lunch. Nice to have occasionally. Also it is Ramadan so best wishes to those who celebrate. The quote is the usual snarky-type comment made by Oscar Wilde. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy steamed cod. The drink sounds a bit fancy for me, and the wine sounds expensive. It's really not bad and I found that out by checking the name of it due to the odd "1er" in the title. Yep, that's correct! Prayers today to our Care list Dailyites, friends and family. Lucky for us many are improving. 🙏 Congrats to those on the Celebration list. 🥂 I hope everyone is enjoying their cruise. My friend is currently on Sky Princess and I got an email where she is complaining about this, that and the other. But that is her - nothing's changed. She expects perfection! I hope her attitude changes soon or everything miraculously starts going her way.🙄 Our destination of the day is Cherbourg (Normandy), France. I have not been but love hearing about everyone's visits there. I hope you will post (or repost) your photos so here is the link to the January 5, 2022 Daily when we first had that port. DS is flying home to Detroit in about an hour from Dallas. DDIL and Ren are still there preparing for the Dallas Cup tournament starting tomorrow. Ren was invited to play in it with his new team starting this summer, FC Dallas (youth league). DS was searching for apartments for Ren and Mom, but has to get back to the University to teach Monday and Wednesday. Busy times in that family. That's all the news I have from my family. Today is Palm Sunday. I hope everyone has a Blessed and Serene Sunday. It is still early and I take a day off exercise on this day of the week so I can go back to bed now. Probably won't sleep but the rest will do me good. 😴

  19. Our oceanview room on the Volendam was literally a freezer on our Amazon Explorer in Nov. - Dec. 2022. We discussed whether or not to report it when we left Ft. Lauderdale and thought we may need this cold air in the sweltering Amazon. The entire 28 days we had the thermostat pegged at the hottest setting possible, and asked for blankets to put on us when sitting in our room. It was fine. I'd rather be cold than hot.🥵
  20. We sailed not long ago on Volendam on deck 1, 1838 and it was a nice large walk in shower. Very long sofa, too, not a loveseat. Only thing is I'm not a fan of the long hallway in the cabin with the bathroom door on one side and many closet doors. For one thing the lighting isn't good enough to see in each closet, and I can't remember which door has what behind it. Takes me longer to get dressed trying to find the dresses, or pants, tops, shoes.
  21. I found some itty-bitty wooden clothes pins in the office goods department at a store one time. They fit in a little box which is always packed (left in suitcase), and I pin my clothes to the line. Like you said, keeps things from bunching or falling off. Only big enough for lightweight items like lingerie, etc. You might want bigger ones but they would take more space to pack.
