  1. Or being able to go to a casual dining place 4 times for the prix fix fare.
  2. There are plenty of quiet places on the Excel Class ships to relax. You don't need to pay 500++ extra to do so.
  3. No, it's not really worth it on the 3 Excel Class ships (Jubilee, Celebration, Mardi Gras). But it is 100% worth it on the 3 Vista Class ships (Vista, Horizon, Panorama). On the Vista Class you get a good sized pool as well as two larger hot tubs and two tiki huts to soak your feet and relax. On the Excel Class you get a postage stamp sized pool only.
  4. Best of luck with that. And you can't go to guest services afterwards and inquire about hazard OBC.
  5. Every single one of them are clueless as to what the normal cruiser has to pay. But, their donations make the on board spend increase, so that helps the bottom line. As a stockholder, that's a good thing.
  6. Of course, you're a gambler and have zero reality as to what the normal cruiser pays for a cruise. This unique itinerary when it first came out sold out in like two days, so they came out with another date. As a stockholder I'd like to thank you for cruising on a 21 year old ship. I've been cruising for over 35 years and the only time I've ever cruised on a ship that was over 10 years old was once, last year on the refurbished Oasis OTS. We took the Carnival blinders off years ago and spread the wealth around. I fully realize that certain cruisers like yourself like the smaller to mid size ships. I will agree with you regarding sea days, we do like them, but it was highway robbery what Carnival was charging for these unique cruises. They have 3 of them next year, the May 2024 is over 2000 for an inside, while the other two sailings in Aug and Sept are around 1800. This is 10 times what you paid and the regular folk are not getting 300 in OBC or cash either unless they own Carnival stock. Enjoy your cruise and good luck with the bones.
  7. We are princess newbies, have only sailed 14 days on the Discovery and another 14 on the Majestic. Did the majority of our drinking at night at Good Spirits and frequently other bars on board less frequently. But we never had a problem walking up and getting a drink. I guess YMMV, but we only cruise on Royal Class and will also be on the Sphere Class in the future. Older ships are not for us. Whether this comes into play or not regarding getting drinks, i don't know.
  8. New FAS is down to 1 and has been for a while if you book a studio, inside or OV room. And this is up to an 11 night cruise.
  9. They wanted to see if the Loyal Royals were dumb enough to fork over extra coinage for the cardboard they serve as pizza. Princess (Gigi's/Alfredo's), MSC, Carnival, NCL, Celebrity all have better pizza than RCI, in that order since I've cruised or will cruise on each of those lines this year.
  10. Have you ever tasted that Sorrento's garbage? It's good enough for kids but anyone who has ever had good pizza at sea knows it's crap.
  11. How about you walk to a bar and get your drink or walk to the IC and get a snack? This way, you don't have to wait and you know what you're getting.
  12. It's been nice knowing you Mike. Since you're no longer sailing on any of the big three cruise lines, I will infer that you won't be going on MSC either, but I'll also infer that you may be considering their new Explora division. Enjoy your Antarctica cruise, I know my DH would love to go there someday, but sacrifices need to be made since I'm relegated to a scooter and Antarctica has thus been scratched off his bucket list.
  13. Makes zero sense to me that we got the email regarding a sailing next August and others who are sailing in a few weeks have gotten nothing
  14. The 2023 link from the Majestic is obviously the better one to use.
  15. What's overpriced to me is you paying $0.60 per bottle of water. I'll pay 100 times as much for the Plus package and get more than 100 times the value.
  16. They should have sent it out to everyone that is in the system that has a current reservation.
  17. So, you couldn't confirm my assumptions that you got a gambler rate. You still have no legs to stand on complaining about a 14.99 charge to activate ocean now so your drinks can be delivered while you lose at the craps table.
  18. This is Princess, more people fly than drive to their embarkation port.
  19. We got an email about the changes and our next Princess cruise isn't until a year from now.
  20. And pay 50% more for your airfare over a 14.99 charge and whatever you'd possibly spend at Alfredo's.
  21. Gambler? You're complaining about the changes regarding a few bucks yet you are the recipient of a gambler rate. You have zero legs to stand on complaining about the changes since you get a fantastic reduced price fare. Now, start paying what the majority of people pay and your complaint will have more merit.
  22. We don't use room service and we go to the bar for our drinks. The reduction in free Alfredo's visits stinks, but certainly not going to cry about it. Even with these changes, in our opinion, they far and away have the best value afloat with the Plus package. Not worth the extra 40 per day to upgrade to premier since we cruise on 7-14 day cruises.
  23. Best value purchase at sea. We personally don't care about wifi, so if you factor out the 16 per day in gratuities, it's 44 per day for the drinks package, including drinks gratuities. Far and away the cheapest at sea. The 60 for the package would cost 103 on Carnival.
