  1. Expand your horizons and take the blinders off. Variety is the spice of life. Currently have reservations on 6 different lines. NCL, RCI, MSC, Carnival, Celebrity and Princess.
  2. You've already paid the tip if you have bottomless bubbles or Cheers. If you don't have the packages, yes, you would be charged the 18% on the soda you poured just like you would be charged it at the self serve beer station.
  3. The boys were happy. They could finally breathe.
  4. Shaq's Big Chicken on the Carnival Mardi Gras has really good chicken via grilled or breaded breasts and strips.
  5. Have to say that the longer the commute from the airport to the cruise port, the more of a PITA it is. When embarking from MIA or FLL, the commute is fairly easy and if needed you have the option of flying into either airport to get to either cruise port. When going out of PC, there is the higher cost of getting from MCO to PC, as well as the slightly longer commute, which is not a deal breaker, just an inconvenience. But, the deal breaker is the commute from IAH to Galveston, which is 75-90 minutes depending upon traffic. We will put up with it on Monday for our repositioning cruise on the Prima, but it'll be a one and done for us ever embarking from Galveston again.
  6. Primetime would be 630-800. Dining starts at 530.
  7. Exact opposite of what we went through on the Prima. Our last NCL cruise was February of 2019 on the Bliss when reservations could be made at 90 days. Never knew it changed to 120. When we found out and tried to make reservations about day 100, the only slots left were primarily after 830. So we're now relegated to making them as soon as we board.
  8. I would cancel and bring a walker from home which would be easier than a rollator to lug around. I assume your DH is in the wheelchair all of the time on board and uses the rollator in the cabin or on excursions that are not wheelchair friendly. A walker would save money anyway. If you need to buy one it's probably cheaper than what scootaround is charging for the rollator rental.
  9. You have various options. One is the box office, two is on a wall mounted kiosk and three is on the app once you have connected to the ships wifi with your booking. Besides the two big shows you'll also be able to reserve comedy shows as well as make specialty dinner reservations and MDR reservations if you wish. The Beatles tribute band at the Cavern Club are first come first seated shows and reservations are not accepted.
  10. Great call Carnac. It's been officially pulled from CBS's lineup effective Wednesday Nov 2 and future episodes will be seen on Paramount+.
  11. Dated? The Prima has an inverted bow and the Enchanted has a standard bow. If you actually sailed on a Royal Class ship from Princess you would know it's not dated. What a ship looks like from the outside means squat, IMHO. What matters is the food, the bars, the entertainment, the ambiance, the venues.
  12. Thanks for your brief overview of the 12 day report from NYC to Galveston. Since you did not mention it, by any chance did you attempt to see any of the shows at Syd's?
  13. One of my DH's shrunk shirts was all we needed to no longer take advantage of this perk.
  14. The Escape has Howl at the Moon, but it also has a casino that has bad ventilation and the cigarette smoke permeates upwards from deck 6. The Encore has a glass enclosed casino for the smokers, had the Cavern Club with the Beatles tribute band and of course the aforementioned Observation lounge.
  15. Since retirement kicked in and the number of cruises per year increased substantially we don't limit ourselves to just one or two lines. Currently have bookings on MSC, RCI, NCL, Carnival, Celebrity and Princess.
  16. They come in shrimp, chicken and beef varieties with different types of noodles and veggies included. Very flavorful.
  17. Can't forget the broth bowls at Chibang during sea day lunch.
  18. Port changes happen all of the time and when you read the T&C's the cruise lines are under no obligation to offer OBC as compensation. If you're looking to cruise just for the ship, other options would be the Celebration or the Horizon with a Havana area cabin.
  19. Always thought that Nassau was not in the Caribbean since it's the Bahamas, similar to Freeport.
  20. Easily resolved to avoid the buffet on embarkation day by cruising on one of the newer ships in the fleet that give you other options for your first lunch on board.
  21. I'll agree that all cruise lines have their plusses and minuses. You obviously have not sailed on an Edge Class ship, a definite step above the four entry level lines.
  22. My mistress made me watch all 3 episodes back to back including commercials. It was a long 3 hours.
  23. Could not agree more about the dessert. On our subsequent visit we skipped it. But I did notice that they made a recent change on the MG and pushed everything back a day with the daily specials. The filet was on Saturday and now it's Sunday with everything else also being pushed back one day such as the strip steak going from Sunday to Monday.
