  1. I think the 20% discount is the usual pre-cruise discount (although that could change). There may be a Black Friday or other sale that will offer a bigger discount prior to your cruise. On my most recent cruises on the Apex and the Beyond, the discounts from the sales were better than the Captain's Club discount (and I could not get them combined).
  2. Agree with previous comments to be careful about this. On my B2B in August, I had sent laundry out 3 days before the end of the first cruise but there was no sign of it the night before turnaround day. I had to call guest services to try to find it. The room attendant returned it to me with some rather insistent knocking at my stateroom room at 5:45am on turnaround day (um thanks?).
  3. Sadly the 2024 Lisbon to BA transatlantic on the Equinox was canceled by Celebrity earlier this year when the Equinox was shifted from South America to the Caribbean for 2024-25 (one of three of my planned cruises canceled by Celebrity when ships were redeployed to the Caribbean). Its replacement crossing is far less interesting IMHO.
  4. I have seen the same thing as the OP and sympathize with the frustration. For me, the best solution in most cases has been to work with a TA to get a group rate (double occupancy) that is cheaper than whatever Celebrity is offering online. That said, this approach probably won't work for late bookings (less than 90 days out) as the group rates may be sold out/not available at that point. Otherwise, go for whatever the best rate is, as the previous poster suggested.
  5. I was recently on the Beyond (Edge class) for a B2B for 21 days and apart from a couple of specialty restaurant meals, I had dinner in the MDR each night. I recall one night there was a longish wait line at Cyprus so I walked over to one of the other MDRs. For all of the other dinners, I was seated immediately (ate at different times between 6pm and 8pm). Both cruises were near or at capacity. Unless you are part of a large group or want to sit in a specific area, you won't have a problem eating dinner at the time you want on the Edge or other Edge-class ship.
  6. hmm good question - will let you know in about 2 weeks
  7. It seems to be a targeted/selective sale thing. I saw the 50% upgrade offer for the first time prior to my B2B last month. For my next cruise, the offer is 5%.
  8. There can be last minute cancellations, plus sometimes people in suites are upgraded to better suites, freeing up their previous suites.
  9. With a few edits they can re-use the text from the cartons for the plastic bottles... BYE, BYE OCEANS Here today, gone tomorrow
  10. My current bid has not been accepted and has not been rejected and cannot be modified, but perhaps I could cancel it by calling Celebrity...
  11. Based on my admittedly limited experience, the answer seems to be...it's unclear. On my last cruise, the MoveUp bidding appeared to be open right until 48 hours before the sailing. For my upcoming cruise, the MoveUp site took bids for just over a month and then was locked to additional bids or bid modifications about a month before the sailing (there was no advance notification). My suggestion would be to make an early bid if you are interested - it may or may not be available later.
  12. CyberGhost worked fine for me on the Silhouette in April and on the Apex in June.
  13. That's my experience as well. Will give an example of a specific Celebrity cruise to South America in December 2024. On the Celebrity site today, the cruise-only refundable fare for a prime veranda is $8067 (CAD). The refundable All-Included fare is $11,427 (CAD). I received a quote for a refundable group rate (with AI) with some additional OBC from a well-known TA for $7026 (CAD). Would note that the TA group rate savings aren't available for all sailings or for all staterooms but the savings can be significant if you shop around and have some flexibility.
  14. When I was on the Apex in June I just went to one of the specialty restaurants and asked if I could speak to someone to make reservations. Booked 3 different restaurants and it only took a few minutes. Enjoy!
  15. For what it's worth, here is the automated negative response I received for my very weak/faint hope bid 48 hours before my June cruise... (it was great despite the MoveUp fail!) xxxxxxxxxx., Unfortunately, your offer to upgrade to a Sky Suite wasn't accepted. We're sure you'll have an unforgettable vacation in the stateroom you originally booked. Summary of your offer: SAIL DATE SHIP OFFER PER GUEST Jun 06, 2023 Celebrity Apex $1,200 CAD per person What happens now? Your original stateroom is unchanged, so there's nothing you need to do at this time. Your credit card will not be charged. We look forward to welcoming you aboard. Celebrity Cruises
  16. I can't access my bids today (for August cruises) so perhaps the MoveUp website is having some issues? My limited bidding experience and previous forum comments suggest that there is usually a notice 48 hours or so before the cruise (or earlier if you are successful).
  17. They weren't all at the same time but they were probably between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. We were given pagers and encouraged to have a drink in the lounge while we waited. This was my fourth cruise with Celebrity (second in Aqua) and the first time that I waited over 10 minutes to be seated for any meal.
  18. Congrats on the upgrade. I was in Aqua for the transatlantic in April and enjoyed it a great deal. There were some long-ish (30+ min) waits for a table for dinner at Blu but once inside the food was very good and the service was excellent.
  19. Not necessarily true. I have two different TAs for my B2B in June (long story and I wouldn't recommend doing that again) and was able to get an onboard credit for both cruises (I learned about the discount after final payments) although it did take several 3-way phone calls with the TA(s) and Celebrity to sort that out... (good on the two TAs and Celebrity for accommodating this).
  20. There are some websites that compile "Solo Supplement Deals" by cruise line that I find quite helpful in identifying potential Celebrity solo cruises. The one I use lists the solo supplement %, indicates price per day, highlights good/better/best deals, etc. Still, I usually end up checking/confirming the prices and availability on Celebrity, so it doesn't entirely remove all of the steps.
