  1. Bossche Ball from GDC. I also expected custard (think Boston Cream Pie shaped like a softball) even though it clearly said Chantilly Cream. But unfortunately they were good and went into the rotation.😉🙄
  2. Maybe due to the original build market and not changed during the swap over? All 4 were always full last Sept.
  3. No charge on HAL either. Tea Time is not overly fussy.
  4. That is a beautiful picture; it will be lovely when you finish it. I wish I had the patience and eyesight to do them. What do you do with them when complete- frame, keep, gift?
  5. BEAUTIFUL!! Mother Nature and God do great work.
  6. Yay! Nothing like boarding a cruise ship in the rain.😊 Glad to hear you made it on time and safely - rains can sure be brutal in that area. At least you've done it enough to be on the lookout for the flooded roads. Here's to a wonderful sail away.🍹🍾
  7. Try this link: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/cruise-deals/community-appreciation-cruise-offers/aarp-member-benefit-offer# According to the details AARP OBC is stackable w/all OBC except what you get when booking through AARP (which I have never done). I have not had issues getting the OBC added last minute. You should submit today and call them Monday. Technically it's for new bookings, so you may get denied for that reason; although, some report getting it added to current bookings. Safe travels- enjoy your cruise!
  8. Thanks for the lesson. You live in a beautiful place.
  9. When we change cabins on a B2B, I go to GS very early (before breakfast) to pick up the new key cards. That way, I avoid the crowds and can ensure they're correct before doing the "kindergarten walk" through the terminal and back. Be sure you take both with you so they can scan the old one off then you'll be all set to start using the new one. If you get a Thermalpass, be sure to take the new card in for a sticker.
  10. Correct. And your original post asked about Luggage Direct. Then post #5 I asked to confirm if the question was pertaining to Luggage Direct and post #7 you confirmed it is. So I believe we're on the same page. 🤔
  11. No way for any of us to know what HAL will do w/pricing, or at least those of us that do not have inside connections, but in its current version, it is not lower onboard.
  12. @aliaschief the Cooks Bay pictures are stunning. I hope the storm misses you so you can enjoy your other ports.
  13. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful picture with us. If this is representative of your portfolio, you are so talented and do beautiful work!
  14. Our last several cruises, and as recently as Oct-Dec on NS and Dec on K'dam, we've had a flyer in our cabin to purchase HIA at $10pppd above the pre-cruise price. So, yes should be available, but no discount. Very short 2-3 days to do it then the offer gets pulled. The most recent had a daily price of $65 due to the recent increase; this was from the cruise before.
  15. Touring the Missouri is interesting and moving, seeing things such as the site of Surrender Deck. It can be done anytime during operating times. There us a fee ($34.99) for it, which is included in the HAL tour price. The Memorial, which is the final resting place for the fallen, sits atop the Arizona. The tour times are very structured w/limited capacity and closest for lunch from 12-1. For reserved times, the fee is $2 if purchased online and included in HAL tour price. There is no fee if you go standby. Due to the timing of the tours and closing at lunch, it's better to go to the Memorial first them the Missouri. If you do the Missouri first, you may well miss the Memorial. If you don't get to the Memorial, you can still visit the museum and watch the film, both free, both very worth doing. Jan, our HAL tour missed the Memorial due to above timing and pax being late to the bus. But tours available through the ship and independently.
  16. They do like to help, don't they? My big boy is currently helping fold the blanket on the couch.
  17. Sounds like you're doing well - that's a great way to start a new year! Here's hoping to continued good progress.
  18. Maybe that ship is recommended in the community 🤔 it sure seems to be popular. I hope all goes well 🙏
  19. Well I guess I can arrange a date night for my doggies, just never considered it. I am not from a Sesame Street family, but Elmo has been greatly loved by a lot of kiddos so I'll celebrate him. Yes to the meal & wine, would try the drink. Most recent visit to Puget Sound was last April on Eurodam; it's a lovely port. We will be there again May 12 and late Sept. 3 really important days in history. It was 54° when I got up this morning, that was 4 hours ago so I'm sure it's gotten closer to the forecasted 68°. The lake is still clearly presen in the backyard, so need some sun. Prayers and positive thoughts for all. April 29, 2023 was opening day for HALs 76th Alaskan season. We had a perfect day for boarding the Eurodam in Seattle and cruising the Puget Sound. As seen from our balcony. There was a ceremony with a band, local Chamber was presented a check by HAL & Crew, Miss WA and Miss AK greeted us at gangway. It was filmed by local TV station.
  20. As for any unused refundable OBC, yes you can cash it out at Guest Services before you get off the ship or you can have it refunded to your CC.
  21. Correct no paper excursion tickets, but your key card can be scanned. The last 2 cruises (NS Nov-Dec & K'dam Dec-Jan) the Excursions channel on stateroom TV has a When/Where to meet your Excursion page. It listed each excursion by start time then what time to meet and where to meet. Very handy new feature. I, too, use my phone for taking pictures, CC Live posting, maps getting around port and work calls, but if I wanted to disconnect, I could use my camera, post & call from computer and use paper maps thus making my phone a non-essential (like I did pre-Covid). Especially since paper menus & Daily schedule are readily available again.
