  1. there is a chair i n the general balcony cabins. One night my husband had room service for dinner - the butler set it up o n the little table attached to the wall I guess would be bit squashy for 2 people - I imagine you would bring a chair i n from the balcony and use the balcony table for other person (but I went to dining room as usual so I didnt find that out) I guess you would top up your own water glass fro m the water container you have in your room - and just have the one glass of wine each that was brought with dinner - or open the one i n the bottle in mini bar fridge if you want more.
  2. These things are not Viking issues - they are general characteristics of river cruises - yes of course there will be other people at your table, or at least very closely adjacent and private dinners are not going to happen, everyone has dinner in one sitting in one place (unless you use room service) and meals have limited and defined hours, the dining room isnt open all day On some ships there is a cafe open all day for light snacks - not sure if Viking is one of them but surely you could have found this out before going and yes entertainment is limited - we enjoyed some fun things like quizzes after dinner - but generally there is no razzamatazz. If you find that boring, river cruising is perhaps not for you - but it isnt specific to Viking - and again is something you could easily have found out before going.
  3. I have no idea but it looks an old mining site in middle of nowhere - maybe Cooper Pedy??
  4. I know my answer was wrong - but just wanted t o share this picture from the collection at South Kolan. Clever play on words - from Kenny Rogers song, of course
  5. @Jean C yes you are correct. I enjoy Segway tours and have done several now, in different places ( not saying where the others are in case I decide to use them later) Your turn......
  6. Yes and yes. Being specific it is on the boardwalk between where and where?
  7. I'll go back to the one I posted earlier
  8. It's the Emu mural at Lightening Ridge, NSW.
  9. Yep, Jean, over to you. You have 24 hours or 48 hours or 3 days to get a photo up.
  10. Sorry, when I read Mike's post it said Someone else post a picture, so I did. Maybe it was edited after? Happy to save mine for another time, I wasn't the winner after all. I think 3 days is a long time to wait for another photo - but happy to go with majority. Or a compromise - maybe 48 hours? But i think we need an official rule or thread stalls. Back to Mike's photo - Mt Cook, New Zealand?
  11. OK. What about this one? PS do people agree with ' 24 hour rule'? Would be good to have ' official consensus' to avoid any issues in future?
  12. I know people aren't glued to the internet so the winner should be given reasonable time to post their photo - but should there be a time limit, say 24 hours, and after that the previous person post another one or nominate the next closet guesser to do so?
  13. Hmm, never heard of Traveler's coffee before but google tells me it is world wide. Google also tells me it is Russian origin. I'm thinking 'much further north' means northern hemisphere I will try Georgia
