  1. the SPF rating system must be different in Australia too - most sunscreens here are SPF 50
  2. Perhaps it depends on your cruise director, I dont know. But on our Scenic Amsterdam to Budapest cruise, it was electronically communicated via TVs in our cabin.
  3. can't speak for Viking - but on Scenic we did not get a paper version of this, it was uploaded each day on the TV screen. (sometimes we took a photo if we wanted it with us to refer to anything).
  4. Some lovely photos on your blog. 🙂 I am going on similar land/cruise with Scenic in Jan 2025.
  5. Correct. will find somewhere more obscure if I ever get another turn. 🤣 PS did you spot me at the base of the tower?
  6. I hope this isnt too easy ( you lot seem to know your stuff!) Bonus - you can play Wheres Wally? oops Where's Kristelle? i n the photo
  7. I am prone to over packing and but back ups of shoes is not something I have considered - risk analysis I suppose - the liklihood of a shoe breaking is too small for me to pack another pair as back up I take 3 - 4 pairs - I can always improvise with the ones I have if such an unlikely thing happened - and/or buy pair of flip flops/ basic shoes at airport / on board / on shore.
  8. Luang Prabang, Laos Are we at least i n right country?
  9. PS do I get points for ingenuity, looked up kip shown in prices at side to find where it was the currency of.
  10. Oh that's a helpful hint, I was going to try my luck on Scotland again. But will go for Vientiane, Laos instead.
  11. Castle tioram,Scotland ? PS I enjoy this thread even though none of my guesses have been anywhere near the mark.
  12. Cruises or any holiday I would take 4 maximum, 1 of which would be on my feet, 3 in suitcase. Flip flops or flat easy to slide into sandals, maybe both, good walking shoes, dressy sandals or ankle boots ( depending on weather) for dressy occasions. So possibly only 3. I'm not good at packing light, probably take too many clothes but certainly not struggling with weight or space of more shoes. That seems sensible to me.
  13. yes one can. my preference though would be to buy an eye catching coloured case to start with.
  14. I'm with last 2 posters - I don't do anything different. I wash my hands the same as I do at home and I am up to date with recomended vaccinations But no to plastic bagging remote controls, sanitising stair rails etc
  15. there is also a little open sided train that goes to the historical war site, includes an optional guided tour which was very good. You would have to be able to cope with a few stairs going underground though https://www.rottnestisland.com/see-do/culture-history/captain-hussey-historical-train-tour?tab=see-do
  16. for me - one that has wheels, that fits as much as possible in without going over size restrictions, one that is easy to spot - ie not plain black or similar. and has pockets or compartments.
  17. Correct - I don't. When I say people ask what you do/did for a living I don't mean people neccesarily use those exact words, they ask something that will open that conversation which either of above sentences would do the same
  18. not sure if this is a joke, if so, ignore following comment - - whatever it is referring to would go completely over my head and seems a really strange way to start a conversation
  19. As Charles showed, reading a book can lead to conversations about book reading habits/ styles as well as about actual books.
  20. People often put a slightly wrong DOB on Facebook for that reason.
  21. I was a bit bemused by that too. I read paperbacks on holidays ( so I don't have to worry about leaving them on buses, by the pool etc which I would with my tablet) but I read ebooks at home. Why would bringing that into a conversation be a brag?
  22. I must admit I dont worry too much about things like this. I live in a relatively small town - people will know I a m absent from work, my usual club activities etc anyway - so whether I post on Facebook doesnt really change that
