  1. Yes. My last culinary class was canceled “by the CDC” on the November transatlantic.
  2. We need your best treatise on OLife (and other topics) as a sticky! MODERATOR, please……….
  3. We already had this discussion………
  4. Agree. I enjoy river cruising, and those bathrooms are tiny. TINY! Makes no diff!
  5. I did 2 (or 3?) culiary classes on Riviera last November. Chef David was great! One of the classes was on paella, and I filmed most of the steps, then later made the dish at home on New Year’s Day. I HIGHLY recommend the classes!
  6. Hmmm. Am booked on past-FP 3 November Los Angeles to Lima. Several Mexican ports. If too dangerous or scary, will stay onboard and spend my OBC.
  7. Are we on the same cruise? Riviera 29 November 2023!
  8. That would be fabulous if you could join me. Let’s see if I can paste in a link to the itinerary. Let me know if you have any questions! https://www.rssc.com/cruises/MAR221103/summary
  9. Today I made my specialty restaurant reservations for my 3 November 2022 cruise on Mariner from Los Angeles to Lima Peru. I’m very excited. It looks like many of the state room categories on my sailing still have a lot of availability, and I certainly had no problem finding a convenient time and date for my specialty reservations. I’m wondering if my cruise will be sparsely populated. What about your upcoming cruise? Are a lot of Regent’s itineraries embarking over the next few months sold out/waitlisted?
  10. Thank you so much for this good information! I booked a November 2023 cruise while I was on board Riviera last year. I think I have the best price protection, no? Would I be able to upgrade my existing reservation? Perhaps not, but I thought it was worth asking. Thanks again!
  11. I like that Oceania‘s pricing is à la cart. That way I can pay for what is important to me, and DIY other aspects. For example, I can bring on board bottles of wine and only pay a $25 corkage fee in a restaurant. There’s no fee if I consume it in my cabin. At happy hour I can get a cocktail (double) for the price of one. When I have an unlimited beverage package, I probably drink more than is good for my waist line. So, I like being able to consume alcohol without having an unlimited enticement. I have heard that Viking does good shore excursions. Depending on the area visited, I might prefer to join in a private group excursion; more customized and more personalized instead of paying for it in the cruise price. It all depends on your preferences. One thing Oceania does so much better than Viking, is the cuisine. Everything I read tells me this is true. O’s food is much better than Viking’s. For this statement, I rely wholly on the vast majority of opinions I have read on cruise critic; I have never cruised on Viking myself. Enjoy your cruise!
  12. I spent 9 of 10 sea days on my last transatlantic cruise playing bridge (v poorly). Had a blast! Looking forward to more of the same!
  13. I hope some of your questions are being answered. I will try to include a link to another thread with some explanations. I think the reason why you were having trouble with your search is that your search results will include anything that contains any of the three words in your search criteria. So, every post that includes the word “your” would be included in your results. I did a search just on “excursions.” I hope you can get all of your questions answered.
  14. If you use the search function on this forum, you will see lots of explanations to help guide you. Previous posters have explained it much better than I can. Enjoy your cruise. You will love Oceania!
  15. In my experience and based on reading posts on this forum, the credit is posted quicker when the form is submitted via email (not sure about fax). Also, they won’t accept it too early. By that I mean if your cruise is not for a while yet, they might not post the credit. I submitted the paperwork about nine months before my cruise embarking spring 2023. Nothing happened. I sent a second request, marked “second request”. That time I got a response back telling me to wait until closer to the embarkation date and to resubmit the paperwork
  16. How about bridge lessons and organized (non duplicate) bridge? Thx!
  17. When I book a cruise that ports in Civitavecchia, I look for the cruise to embark or debark there. I know its not the best use of my time to bus back and forth to Rome from the port…..
  18. I did this itinerary in the opposite direction mid July before the water levels started to affect cruising. It was absolutely fabulous, you’re gonna love it!
  19. The best strategy is to find a companionable traveler to share. I’m still looking…..
  20. I’m hoping the concierge level stateroom will help me to get extra reservations at specialty restaurants….. I’m not excited about the twin bed. What were they thinking? A double bed really is the smallest they should have used…..
  21. Agree, and unfortunately that might mean I switch to a different mode of travel.
  22. Agree, but perhaps this is more a reflection of the target population of NCL instead of O and Regent? IDK
  23. I’ve been turned down. My doctor said it is in short supply and she could not in good conscience provide it on a “just in case” situation.
