  1. And if you’re a fan of Malbec, perhaps include Mendoza, Argentina.
  2. BsAs is easily worth a week, it’s one of my favorite cities, but do be careful. Although I’ve been to Santiago several times, it was on business so I’m just not as familiar w its attractions.
  3. Have sailed w CD Dottie, and my trivia-mates felt her PA announcements were too extensive and “irritating “. I get you.
  4. Wow! Thx for this. I might be your cruisemate on one of these itins!😉
  5. Those in suites or PH get to eat w their friends. You just need more friends in higher categories, as Shepherd Really suggests. 😜
  6. NJHorseman is absolutely correct in the explanation. Its economics.
  7. I would avoid transporting vitamins in checked luggage as excessive heat might not be a good idea.
  8. Cruising on Oceania is just like eating potato chips. Once you’ve eaten one potato chip, its so hard to stop. Once you’ve been on an Oceania cruise, you just can’t stop! 🤪
  9. They don’t have to be in the same booking window. You just need their booking number. So, whoever has the earliest access to make reservations can book for others. Enjoy your cruise!
  10. Agree, however I am very pleased at my ability to score drinks easily during Captain’s welcome/open bar compared to Celebrity. Another reason I don’t cruise on X anymore.
  11. Do you mean disembarkation time time or port arrival time?
  12. I will chime in that O is my preferred cruiseline BECAUSE it is not inclusive. I prefer the a la carte premise as I can choose where to spend my money. I have sailed on Regent and have another reservation on Regent, a great cruiseline. While the experience is arguably better on Regent, I still feel O is the best value (at least for me). I appreciated your review! Thx!
  13. I was VERY happy on my recent 16-day solo cruise on Mariner (LA to Lima). 25% supplement. Cost me a bundle, but life is short! My next 25% SS Regent cruise is a 19-day SA cruise on Voyager in Feb 2024. Can’t wait!
  14. I booked an H guarantee and was very happy with my assigned suite. I heard of my assignment a few weeks (2?) prior to departure. It was a GREAT cruise! You’ll have a fabulous time!
  15. I also struggle w a non responsive TA who, in the end, gets things done. For me, it’s a little more complicated as I also consider her a friend. But I get v frustrated from her “radio silence.” Since you don’t have the same emotional attachment to yours, I’d use a different TA in future. Its too late to transfer this booking to another TA (30-day window). Experienced posters will recommend you ask your fellow pax on your upcoming cruise which TA do they recommend and why do they recommend them. Enjoy your cruise!
  16. My understanding is O would/could honor price reductions only if the stateroom category is not waitlisted. Therefore it could be hit or miss. Fingers crossed!
  17. By quoting prices in a foreign currency (CAD), you’ve introduced another variable- foreign exchange. I’m thinking a comparison using the base currency (USD) could be more informative. Not that I have any available myself. JMO.
  18. Form says must be received 15 days before sailing, so when you call O to straighten it out, be ready to give them the dates you submitted the form. And get a different TA!
  19. I’m sorry that I can’t add another vacay this year. Would love to cruise w y’all again! Have to negotiate my V-time w my honey, who no longer travels and misses me when I’m gone. 🥰
  20. Gerry, what a great video. I was enjoying the wonderful production quality until I saw the shot of restaurant Red “Gignger”. No one at O caught that SNAFU? Who’s the marketing exec that let that one slip through? As a academic, spelling counts!
  21. I guess we are also seeing price increases on O, but they are expected if not welcome. From reading these boards, I think the worst criticisms I’ve read are when price increases happen mid-cruise w little or no notice/recourse (drinks packages), oftentimes confusing/contradictory communication from corporate (can think of several examples recently), or itinerary changes blamed on “sustainability “ (biofoul down under/reduced time in ports). I’m just back from my first cruise on sisterline Regent, and it was fabulous in every way but I also cannot afford those prices on a frequent basis. So, O continues to be my preferred cruise experience. Welcome aboard.
  22. Appreciate the balanced review, and VERY SORRY about the poop!
  23. My impression (and please correct me if I am wrong) is that the American Express Platinum shipboard credit only applies to certain cruises that have this promotion, not all cruises. Am I mistaken? I hope so!
  24. I say the complete opposite. Having talked to pax on Uniworld who have previously traveled on Viking, they’d say (and I agree), “Avoid Viking and enjoy Uniworld.” YMMV.
