  1. We have had six wonderful tours with RIL over the years. Jany is great to work with in the planning process. She always gets back to us in emails very quickly. Last July (late review) we had a wonderful tour of the Amalfi Coast with Giovanni. It was just the two of us. We were one of the first off the ship in Naples and headed straight to Ravello. It was beautiful to be so early that the shopkeepers were just setting up and very few tourists were out and about yet. Fun to linger and enjoy the quiet with a relaxing cup of cappuccino. Next it was on to Amalfi which was still early and easy for us to explore without the crowds. Lastly we visited Positano and had plenty of time to walk around. The crowning jewel for us was our wonderful relaxing lunch in a small family owned restaurant overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Plenty of wine and fab food. RIL definitely picks the most wonderful places for lunch. We have done six tours with them now in various places around Italy now. We are now in the planning process with RIL for our return trip to Rome. It has been apx 15 years since we last came into Rome so it is time to redo. We had a wonderful time back then so look forward to visiting some old sites and seeing some new ones. We toured the countryside in subsequent visits. Very easy company to work with and we look forward to this next visit.
  2. Enjoyed reading your review. So glad you can find away to have fun even in the rain. We were one of the ones who canceled the 52 day cruise and opened up some prime sunset verandas! You will have an exciting time. So glad it’s so popular and booked up. We changed it to a Polynesian from Honolulu to Sydney and added on an additional Australian segment. 🍻 cheers.
  3. Spring break can encompass a long period of time from about the beg of March until about mid April depending on where you live in the country. Looks like these short cruises and over a holiday attract many more families adding a cruise to their Disney holiday while in FL and locals looking for a short cruise. A story I can recall from about 2002 when we had teen and college kids. We took a spring break cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas to Mexico from Long Beach CA. At one of the shows there were two older couples sitting behind us. When talking with them before the show we mention what a bummer it must be for them having selected a cruise with so many kids on board. Their comment was “they were enjoying having youth bring energy and vibrance to the cruise instead of just a bunch of old people sitting around” These little portable speakers drive us wild! Think it is very rude to make everyone subjected to have to listen to them. Where are the steel drums when you need them!!
  4. Love seeing the manatees. We have never seen them in all the times we have been down there. Key West is fun. Lots of good eating.
  5. Do you know if you can book for another party to cruise with you that will not be with you on the current cruise.
  6. We will be cruising on the Beyond Transatlantic in a few weeks. We have a cruise in mind we would like to book but are holding off. —— Wondering what the current Onboard booking promotions are? ——-Can you purchase for another party who will be going with you? Do they receive the same benefits. Example reduced deposit. Thankyou. 😎
  7. Thank you. Learned something new today. Never really paid much attention to it.
  8. Sounds good. I take it one can actually sit outside. You would have a porthole and be able to go outdoors and look over a rail?
  9. Can you explain what a DPV is?
  10. Yes you have to settle on something else when there are no SV to choose from. The only other alternative is a different class of ship that has a true balcony on the sides!!
  11. IV is a nice alternative for those that do not want to spend the $$$ on expensive suites or who cannot get a sunset balcony. There are not very many sunset balconies so the iv is the next best alternative when you do not get a choice. You might just as well accept it and decide you will like it and have a wonderful cruise. We are!!!
  12. We did the catamaran sail to Nevis. One of our better excursions. Really a lot of fun. We sat on the edge with our feet on the net. Got soaked and my hair was sticky wild! Plan to do it again next Feb. Enjoy😎
  13. Thank you everyone that responded to my answers that were particularly for Rome. I appreciate your help.
  14. Sea Days (6 of them) reading and just relaxing. Also not having to fly for 12+hours to get to Europe!!
  15. Just curious as to what the process is for B2B change over in Rome(Civitavecchia)? We assume the passenger count needs to get down to zero. Can you immediately check back in without having to find a place to hang out? Really do not want to have to walk the streets of Civitavecchia with a small rollaboard with valuables and medication in it!! Anyone that has done a turnaround here please help to let us know what to expect.
  16. We actually are one of those that take precautions and carry our own tests. I just don’t want to have to worry the entire time on our Transatlantic about having to test. We are fine with doing them ourselves on the honor system.
  17. What about the part that says “prior to reboarding a Transpacific(I get that part) or TRANSATLANTIC leg? It’s the Transatlantic that we need to deal with. It talks about B2B involving Transatlantic cruises.
  18. As of March 21, 2023, proof of a negative COVID-19 test is no longer required for guests embarking on Transocean sailings, except for those on back-to-back sailings in Australia/New Zealand and those aboard the April 22nd, 2023 Celebrity Eclipse 18 Night Tahiti, New Zealand & Hawaii sailing out of Sydney, Australia. For guests on back-to-back sailings All back-to-back guests will be required to take part in a complimentary COVID-19 test, prior to reboarding a Transatlantic or Transpacific leg of their journey. ? A cruise prior to a Transatlantic which would be someone coming off a Carribean cruise and continuing on a transatlantic. OR ? A transatlantic cruiser continuing on a European cruise on the same ship? Very confusing and the wording is very poor!
  19. Love seeing all your photos and comments. We are doing similar next Jan -Feb on the Beyond and Asent. It’s fun seeing the process.
  20. We have taken two grandchildren with us on Alaska cruises twice now. We have taken them in Sky Suites in Sunset staterooms. It was very nice having the extra room and we got the third person discount as well. They loved cruising and it was very enjoyable to eat in Luminae dining room with them.
  21. I think I raced through your thread to the point where I saw you made it!! Then I could relax!!! So glad to hear you’re having a wonderful time.
  22. We also have two upcoming cruises. I just pass by the negative comments. We are not worried as we know there will be plenty of things to eat. Never have considered canceling for lack of food! We know we will have plenty. Maybe a little less will actually be good for us!! Gone are the days of asking for an extra plate for the table to share as you get older!!
  23. The one caveat we have found is that if you originally book with the refundable deposit then try to cancel it and change it to a non refundable Celebrity will not do it unless there is another stateroom available in that same category. We had this happen on a sunset balcony as they are hot in demand and down the line there was not another available. Maybe it’s doing it onboard that makes the difference!
  24. I know it does not sound right but the claim is that you get a lower price for the cruise. The non refundable part is $100 per person and the other $150 comes back in a future cruise credit so all is not lost. We just went through all of this with family this am.
