  1. Here is a few sample offerings. each ship may have a different supply, but at least you get an idea.
  2. @YVRteacher love the de -raisining of your scone. I do the same. I don’t like raisins either. And I definitely won’t touch an oatmeal raisin cookie ,but for some reason the scone I will eat and I will do exactly what you do ,pile up those things. Liking all your drinks.
  3. @Boku best of luck on taking your time ordering since you are resolved on traditional dining at 5 pm. ( maybe this is what you want?) If server or assistant is ready for your order, they may not come back for a long time & perhaps forget your entree etc. Hope you are at a private table. You still never said what time you prefer to dine at ( doesn’t matter) and then you’re going to show up late ,just because you’re not happy with the dining arrangements, wow. If you are resolved on second traditional seating may not be a problem, but… No one knows at this time how it will work, but time will tell. sorry you feel your 3 dinning room choice and time doesn’t fit your cruise style, now ,so you will just make it work for you by showing up late! I have no idea when your cruise is, but if you haven’t paid in full, maybe this new dining arrangement and all the choices are not for you and another cruise line might be more suitable to you and yes, we all are entitled to our own opinion, but it is not going to change again without careful consideration by Princess and it takes sometimes years to do that and other lines have done some similar things . change is difficult sometimes.
  4. @jsn55 actually it is quite easy to find out what casual restaurants are available on your ship. If you need to know more information perhaps just ask once onboard or on this thread. Not a mystery at all.I have found lots of information by Princess.com-or google.
  5. @Boku You still may make a reservation in a dining room and it’s called reservable /flexible and the time-slots are every 20 minutes. It may not be the dining room of your choosing, but that is a choice. Or you can choose traditional dining at 5 PM and 7 PM (varies slightly ),you’re still choosing. And if you don’t like any of those choices, you can go to the walk-in dining room -yes, of course you may have to wait for a table of your choosing-no one knows currently if you would have to queue up for 30 minutes or five minutes. Make a Specialty restaurant reservation for a time of your choosing. Of course there’s a fee involved or if you have a package that includes it ,your set. There are so many choices. Go to a casual dining venue or go to the buffet. What time do you want to dine? Why does it matter what dining room? they all have the same menu .yes, the location may be different, but all of them are accessible. so if the time that you dine is more important than what dining room it is ,then again that’s a choice. Princess has had all sorts of dining arrangements as the years have gone on and perhaps change is good for some and changes not good for others. I think it is what it is at this point.
  6. @BeforeSunsetLemonade great live from thread.I enjoyed following along. Such beautiful eagle photos.
  7. Perhaps I’m reading your post wrong ?.., Princess made changes because passengers on Princess have been asking to go back to the traditional way of dining.(and no, we’re not talking about dress code in this thread, traditional in the sense that you have a reservation for first seating or second seating every night with exceptions) There are many choices and a lot of pieces to the puzzle. Passengers have quite a bit of choice with the new dining that starts September 15, 2024 . In my opinion ,passengers have more than ever ,more and more choices of where to dine in the evening .( paid and included in fare venues)
  8. @palolake thanks I have updated the list for your 2026 Majestic voyage. I’ll post an update when I have more corrections. I agree with Princess IT person you spoke to…..it is way too early for ALL DR reservations for dining in 2026 to be functioning. Glad you have a reservation at the moment, even though not your first choice.
  9. Have not seen many posts about eating the 2 sundaes per day with plus, unlimited with premier, seems to be -try 1 and then done. The fitness classes are limited choice wise & one needs to sign up for them. Plus package,2 per voyage and premier unlimited classes.
  10. I think Alfredo’s pizzeria is a pop up venue on Diamond Princess. Maybe held at lunch in Sabatini’s? Or dinner . What venue? Hopefully you will get more confirmation.
  11. @mikkelhansen with plus package it is 2 fitness classes per voyage . You said you may skip this.( just for information- some think it’s every day) Also I have seen others say they were able to book dinner reservations without being paid in full. Try on web version and app. Although probably too soon at this date ?? ,try to book dining in November /December 2024 for your December 2025 cruise. You book your own dining, it is not assigned. Traditional- set time, same table, wait staff, same dining room. Probably at 5 pm or 7:30 pm or 7:50 pm. OR Reservable dining room. Make reservations in 20 minute time slots OR walk in dining room- no reservation Also available : specialty casual buffet pizza on outside deck Just look at deck plans for The Sky Princess- many venues
  12. @YVRteacher I see that you showed a little card about how long laundry to be sent out takes. Have you peeked in the laundry room? Some have said there are no token machines or they’re broken ,so self laundry is free/ complimentary. Is that true?
  13. @MaderaMan Might be at lunch or dinner time ? a pop up restaurant ( AK voyages)in World fresh market area ( buffet)the crab shack, I think you can use one of your dining credits there. Maybe crab shack is considered specialty dining? Just ask once you’re onboard and hopefully they’ll steer you in the right way for your two casual dining meals per person.. here are the menus for the other two places.
  14. For those of you that are mentioning you don’t know why the traditional dining times are 5 PM and 730pm. Princess did think about it. It’s because it does work out ,potentially. Quite a few passengers like to dine at 5 PM and the 7:30 PM time (7:50 pm on some ships ),it allows the first wave of diners to finish dinner, change Table set up, etc. As far as the show in the Princess theater ,they usually time pretty well to that ,but not always. Not everyone that dines in the traditional dining room is interested in what’s going on in the theater. Some people love the marriage game, music in one of the other venues, etc. ,some like to go to wheelhouse, some like to go to crooners listen to music have some drinks, some people like to see movies under the stars, some are not interested in any of this because they’ve had a long port day or they need to get up early the next morning because they have tours booked etc. .There’s actually sometimes quite a conundrum of what to do before or after dinner sometime,so many choices. I guess if the theater is a priority for you ,then do the walk-in restaurants, or do the reservable aka flexible dining option, go to casual dining,go to specialty dining, or go to buffet. Of course, all this “ new dining “ does not start until September 14, 2024 and after cruises. I honestly think there’s so many choices for passengers to have and not everybody likes to do the same activities and not everybody likes to dine at the same time, thank goodness . For those of you interested in your particular ship try to see if somebody posts a patter a.k.a. newsletter. Right now I just casually looked at one patter and shows in the theater are 730pm and 930pm. All ships have different times, but they’re right around these times. Sometimes the first night & the last night of the cruise are different timing, etc. So if you booked/reserved traditional dining in the dining room at 5 PM, you should be able to make a 7:30 PM princess theater show
  15. @Spoiltblonde thanks for coming back and letting us know how it all unfolded for you. So glad that you will have a cruise next July to look forward to and that your son’s healing process goes well. Glad insurance for “ new” cruise was added,a little more peace of mind -if Life “ stuff” happens before July 2025.
  16. @SCX22 I have not seen anything in print from Princess on how they’re going to do it, but I seriously doubt that it’s going to be printed up on a card & left in your cabin for every person -especially the people that have reservable dining a.k.a. flexible ( every day they potentially have a different time and they may have specialty dining thrown in there or they excluded one of their evenings and they’re planning on going to the buffet, or they’re planning on going to a casual venue, etc. too many variables ) and there are definitely (some )very few that I’ve heard on any of the cruise critic threads that are going to wing it and have no dining reservations at all. There’s too many variables. I think everyone’s going to have to just know what dining reservations they’ve booked and whether once onboard Princess staff/ crew enforces it or not when you show up at the dining venue when you’ve made a bunch of reservations, it’s anybody’s guest at this point. I can definitely see people showing up at the wrong dining room, meaning they booked in the Michelangelo dining room, but they really should be in the Botticelli and arguing with the staff that they’re in the proper dining room. And I can see it the other way as well. So that’s what I mean. Is it going to be enforced at that point? the staff might just try to accommodate them in the wrong dining room as opposed to telling them what dining room they really need to be at. Should be in the medallion or app (I might not have the terminology, correct) for the passenger to see what reservations they have and it should also be able to be viewed by the dining room staff, but I think until all this is implemented and people report back what’s actually happening, we won’t really know. And I’m sure each ship is going to do it slightly different than another. I think for both seatings of traditional dining -yes the first night you will have to be escorted to your table, depending on if you want a private table or a shared table -so potentially the first night possibly even the second you’ll have to line up. but time will tell on all of this.
  17. Cute birthday drink. Cheers & Happy Birthday.
  18. @Kay S on most of the first day Patters I have seen formal & smart casual mentioned. Sometimes dress to impress instead of formal. So not getting into a how to dress thread. I am assuming all of the dining rooms will be the same as they normally are ,but honestly it never mentions what dining room or dining venue that you’re supposed to wear formal or smart casual at. It just says tonights dress is….. I’ve never seen it spelled out per se. so…….
  19. @YVRteacher There’s only a thank you button, a laughing face and a like button to your above post .I am giving it a sad face. So sorry to hear about everything that has happened today and no Greenland. I wonder why they can’t go to Greenland they’ll get the wire off the anchor, won’t they?
  20. The mint martini sounds interesting to me, that’s a new one . My husband and I quite like the platinum, elite, suite lounge on our cruises, especially if they are port intensive. We like to get back from whatever we’re doing ashore and then attend the lounge, especially when a ship has Skywalkers and just enjoy a drink and some appetizers and then go get ready for dinner. It’s just our little ritual as we tend to dine on the later side like 8 PM. We don’t necessarily order the drinks specials, which looks like they’re eight dollars now ,but sometimes we do. Usually order whatever drink we feel like having and don’t worry about what the price is .We have only had a drink package twice on Princess. Looks like they have hot appetizers now ,last time I went they did not have that. So looking forward to attending the lounge one day again.
  21. Agree always better to be pleasant to guest services, a pleasant person is going to get farther compared to loud & rude. I would however go to the shore excursion desk during open hours to “ log” your shore tour displeasure from today. Or try to call from your cabin, hallway, bar, etc. and get a senior shore staff crew member to address your concerns. If you have not already. I know you said you spoke to someone, but they argued with you & perhaps that was while onshore. I would have a superior contact you and get your complaint forwarded in writing.
  22. Agree, we always like to choose our own cabin as well. For me, I would not pick that cruise if I could not pick my cabin, but thats my opinion. Usually these Pacific coast cruises are in preparation to get the ship to ( in spring) and from ( fall) Alaska so there’s less of these Pacific coastal cruises to choose from?, so they are popular. They do a few round-trip Pacific coast cruises while they’re waiting to get the ship to & from Alaska. Perhaps that’s why they have guarantee cabins only in the category that you’re willing to pay. Well, glad that your travel agent was able to give you a little bit more information and you’re on a waiting list for a cabin of your category or choosing, potentially.
  23. @basil1 yes you may . I do believe it is now nonrefundable, but ask your travel agent to go over all the rules with you.Spend it or lose it.
  24. @SmooshSmash sorry that was way more than a few sentences and I apologize. But as you’re well aware, there is a new dining reservation system and the transition is Happening now. Since this new dining program is not in existence yet except for on the Sun Princess ,there are many variables and choices for passengers. If you want more choice in dining times other than Traditional, the reservable dining room is the way to go. You won’t necessarily get the same wait staff, but you will have the same dining room. All the dining rooms have the same menu ,maybe the decor is different ,but dress/code and we won’t even go there is the same in all the dining rooms .And you can even choose different times every night or do the walk-in restaurant and not be bound by any time slot at all .go when you’re hungry and of course just like a land base restaurant you may have to wait. but because none of this is actually taking place on a Princess cruise ship yet ,the rules are subject to change and every ship will be different on how they handle things . so pack your patience have a wonderful cruise . I should correct- I meant to say most traditional dining times are 5 PM and 730 pm. I made a mistake and said 5:30 PM.
