We started taking insurance when our parents got old and infirm. Now we're the old guys so we still purchase the insurance.

This would keep me up at night!! LOL! When our family 0f 7 in 4 cabins sailed to Alaska, one of the members of our party had never cruised before...so I tried to help him with various things. But I found the best way was first to have his Princess sign in and password so I could check in as him and monitor what needed to be done. The other was, we all got together to plan flights, pre-cruise hotel, excursions (who wanted to do what with whom), Specialty dining: so we could all dine together and of course to choose dining room and times for dinner. Worked out well for all and had we not done that, I would have shown up for the cruise with "raccoon eyes" from lack of sleep!

What can be better than to improve your dining experience with a lovely quality wine?! On our upcoming Anniversary Cruise on the Enchanted we will most likely bring a bottle of Caymus Cab (one of our faves) to enjoy in the Crown Grill on our special day. (Especially when I noticed that the price onboard is $155! 😲

We once pre-ordered a case of wine from Total Wine and picked it up when we went to port. At that time (FLL in 2012) we just sealed the case well and put a luggage tag on it and checked it. Pretty sure that would be frowned upon these days. 2 of the 12 did not incur a corkage fee but when we brought the others to the MDR we were charged corkage.

Incorrect. You can bring on more and pay the $20 Corkage either as you board or when brought to the dining room. The first two bottles (1 per/passenger) do not incur a corkage fee but are to be consumed in your cabin. Nothing would prevent you from pouring your wine in your cabin and carrying the glass to the dining room.

We saw the exact same outfit on a man, every night, on our first Princess cruise on the Ruby in 2010! And then on "White Night" a whole table of 10 came to the dining room in the white robes from their cabins! They were not turned away!

One time in Ft. Lauderdale we were able to board in a separate line with the crew before everyone else got on.

You just have to take into account the price difference between the two and balance that with other perks. If you book as two 7 days you can get two shareholder credits of $100 each segment but if you do a 14 day, I believe you get more. If you have plus you would get 2 casual dinners and 2 fitness classes each 7 days. If you're Elite you get two mini bars one each week whether you book as one 14 day or two 7 days (that has been our experience) You also have to take in account obc provided on 7 vs 14 days. Make a list and compare and decide what you are comfortable with.

The one and only time we were on the Island Panama Canal they did have La Patisserie which wasn't much and they would put out trays of sandwiches and pastries.
