  1. Another beautiful sunrise this morning at the beach. @HBE4 if you are looking for a retirement home, this is one for sale in the area we are staying. It looks like there is enough room that we could come and stay with you during the winter. Only $16,000,000 and taxes of $200k a year. https://www.redfin.com/FL/Pompano-Beach/2004-Bay-Dr-33062/home/41518952
  2. Here at the beach house we rented, we have free Disney+, and free Netflix, courtesy of a couple families that evidently rented before our stay. Just a friendly reminder to anyone who logs in to their streaming service at a rental, or at a hotel. Don’t forget to log out of the service before you leave. I am always reminding Susan to log out, everywhere we go.
  3. Nassau was a last minute port change for us, due to heavy rain and flooding in Labadee. Since we have been to Nassau many times before, we debated on staying on the ship, but then decided to get off and do our own walking tour. So no, it wasn’t a ship excursion. We started off by walking up to Junkanoo Beach, and we made stops at the British Colonial for a quick picture, then stopped at Margaritaville Resort to check their day pass prices. We have that in mind when we bring the family here in August. For the rest of the walking tour, I used the app GPS My City They have a couple of walking tours with maps. We used mainly the City Introduction walk You may see some of the same things on a ship, or private tour, because we saw several busses and taxis at many of these stops. Sine we like to walk a lot, it was no problem for us, but there were areas where the sidewalks were poor, or some with no sidewalks. I really like the improvements they have made to the Nassau port. Have fun planning, whatever you do.
  4. I found this interesting the other day. So now, I have told everyone that on New Year’s Eve, they have to…….. 1. Eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight. 2. Say Rabbit, Rabbit, white Rabbit. 3. Then say Happy New Year. Taking no chances on wishes and good luck for the new year! Of course, since Susan is allergic to grapes, does that mean I have to eat her 12 for her? If so, I might feel like Joey Chestnut in a hot dog contest.
  5. Beach sunrise this morning. This little guy wandered up to me on the beach Just after 7am, and the boats are headed out Early fishing from the jetty.
  6. We are about 2.5 miles north of the Beachcomber, near the Hillsboro inlet. The beach is narrower up here, and it is a little more removed from the action. It is a nice, quiet area, and we will probably keep this house on our list of ones to come back to.
  7. Haha. Yes, we are in a rental home for our between cruises stay. This year we are at one in Pompano Beach. We have stayed in several, between here and Hollywood. Next year we are back to the same one we had last year, between Lauderdale by the Sea and Fort Lauderdale.
  8. Took the family out to see Christmas lights tonight. This guy has a pretty impressive display at his house. Probably a pretty impressive electric bill too. IMG_0217.mp4 A couple photos too
  9. Part of our home, away from home until our January cruise I am thinking of using this area for our family photo. Or Tiki bar. Or both😁 Nice, secluded beach access Beach was not crowded this morning. Even found a lighthouse for OB And, Daryl was trying to wave down his largest inflatable friend. But he just flew on by, and over the lighthouse. Good thing, because we wouldn’t have room for that one in the pool.
  10. Just think of the places Daryl could have seen, if I could have taken him on a world cruise! Meanwhile, Daryl is happy to be with his big friends. Now you know why we didn’t take the other two on the cruise. 🤣🤣
  11. Our family all arrived safely for pat 2 of our vacation. Son and his family came in on the red eye from SFO, so they are catching up on sleep. Daughter and her family are enjoying a couple days at Disney before joining us. Meanwhile, we are enjoying sunny, warm weather, and being the only ones in the hot tub.
  12. This looks very familiar. Daryl says he wishes he was back visiting those islands. Would you believe I had more pictures of Daryl on our cruise than I did of my wife. Hmm, maybe he was more fun.
  13. Than you. Will do, but it will probably be here than on my Symphony live thread. Christmas dinner was at the Rustic Inn Crabhouse. Everything was perfect. Cat 3 Hurricane And the most tender ribs and mahi mahi. And, we found two friends for Daryl. Too bad we didn’t bring him.
  14. My son-in-law always says it was nice of Jesus to celebrate on his birthday. I seem to think it was the other way around, since he is 41 today.
  15. Merry Christmas friends. I didn’t keep up here, while we were sailing last week. I think I am 30-40 pages behind. Waiting for family to arrive for part 2 of our vacation. Thanks to all of you who followed along with the adventures of Daryl last week
  16. Thanks to everyone for following along on Daryl’s adventures. One last thing to post before moving on. I did a rather long video of the Anchor’s Away parade, but couldn’t upload from the ship. So here it is. Wishing all a joyous holiday.
  17. We will see how Harry does. I think he sailed yesterday. Wondering if their Labadee stop got changed.
  18. Yes it is good to have vacation continue. Maybe I will post some of Daryl’s friends with him. When you see the size of them, you will realize why they couldn’t go on the cruise.
  19. One picture I forgot to post. I took a picture of the carving in progress, carousel horse. I never noticed before, but if you zoom in to the back of the horse, is that a carving of a lighthouse? It resembles some of those infamous cookies Thought I would ask the resident lighthouse expert. 😁
