  1. I always offer to do that with my wife, every time we go skating on the ship. For some reason, she always refuses. πŸ€”
  2. If you have an America the Beautiful pass, don’t forget to take it. I bought my lifetime pass several years ago at Marin Headlands. For those that don’t know, they will get you, and another three with you, into the National Parks without paying the entrance fees. They cost $80 now for a senior lifetime pass, but well worth it if you visit many parks. I think they were only $10 when I bought mine. It has paid for itself many times over.
  3. Maybe we could use this Dr. today. We are watching a sick grandson. Maybe it had something to do with that Bengal’s loss last night. So he has wanted us to play Monopoly today. I told him that sometimes that is not a good thing, but he was talking about this kind. 🀣 Ricky has been in the box top most of the afternoon now.
  4. I was just following an 8 day Explorer live, and it looks like they still were using the old menus, and had the apple blossom. I hope people are commenting on the menus in their post Cruise survey. And, they still have the old price for the chops filet ordered in the MDR on the Explorer menu. Have they mentioned if theses new theme menus are still on a trial basis?
  5. Love those sunrise pictures. Looks like not too many were up early. Any plans for Labadee, other than lounging with a drink and taking feet pictures? πŸ˜‰
  6. Sorry @Sea Dog, but it looks like there is someone rooting against your Chiefs. Meanwhile, I cracked open a new bottle, and used something bigger than those tiny glasses Royal uses.
  7. We were to get one on Oasis, and although they assured us it would be delivered to our cabin before debarking, it never showed up. We spent about an hour on the phone with C&A after the cruise, and they said they would mail it. It showed up several weeks later. A nice block that said Ovation. Well, at least it started with an O
  8. @brillohead I forgot to ask last week, but since you are sailing again, I have a couple questions. Are they offering any specialty dining packages on boarding day? In the past, we got two or three day ones. If so, what are they going for? Also, what are the cost now for internet if purchased onboard. Always have to do those calculations of buying during one of the sales, vs. using our vouchers and buying the remaining days onboard. Have a great 3rd leg of the cruise.
  9. Safe travels home @Ozark_Kid Thanks to you and Brillo for bringing us along. You know you guys are just making me wish I was back on a cruise ship. Maybe an announcement about that, coming soon.
  10. I must say, I had no clue what the book was about either. As a note, if you go to the Effectors show in the theatre, don’t sit where the balcony overhang would obstruct your view of the drones. Either choose the balcony, or the area beyond the overhang.
  11. That is just not bad news for Andrew. My wife has severe allergic reactions to raisins. They used to hide them in the apple pie too. That is why she was happy when the apple blossoms were raisin free. Maybe we will have to get JR’s apple pie, if they still have it.
  12. How did your grandkids turn Diamond thru your lineage? I thought they had to earn it thru their parents. That is, unless you took the grandkids on enough cruises to get them to Diamond.
  13. My wife was texting my daughter-in-law about her upcoming trip to Singapore. Now I wonder what kind of ads she is going to get based on her search history?
  14. Bob, I will throw in my 2 cents, because we have traveled much of this area with my son and his family. As far as Napa goes, we have eaten at a couple places up there, but nothing memorable sticks with me. When we drive there, we go past the Sonoma Speedway on the 121, and this route will pass many wineries on the loop. One place on this route has something that looks very interesting to me, and I think I would like to try it one time. Vintage Aircraft company has air tours in vintage aircraft. We would see them flying over the wineries or restaurants when we were there. This is their website. http://www.vintageaircraft.com/ For San Francisco, it looks like you are hitting the popular spots. My son lives in Marin County, and they rarely go to the City because the homeless and drug problem is so bad now. You will likely see many along the Embarcadero, including around Pier 39. One seafood restaurant we enjoyed was the Waterbar. It is along the waterfront, almost down to the Bay bridge. They do have an extensive drink menu. https://www.waterbarsf.com/ Not too far from Pier 39 is the market place at the ferry terminal. It is unique to stroll through there, and it is south of the pier for the ferry to Alcatraz. We definitely enjoyed our trip to Alcatraz. If Muir Woods National monument interests you, it is a short drive beyond the Golden Gate Bridge. I think that they have changed to a reservation system to go there now. Lots of people walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, but it will be even colder and windier when you are there. Chinatown in San Francisco is unique, but it has been years since we were there. You probably have your plans already for Monterey, like making the 17 mile drive, visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea and maybe playing one of the golf courses. If you do go to Carmel for the sunset gathering at the beach, if you walk to the right along the beach, you can climb up to one of the greens of Pebble Beach for an unauthorized photo op. (I am not saying how I know this, but I just do. πŸ˜‰) Hopefully some others will chime in with some more info for you. Enjoy, but be sure to take warm clothes.
  15. I would want to shorten any flight, by as much as possible. My daughter-in-law has to fly to Singapore on business next week. From San Francisco, it is a 17 hour and 25 minute direct flight. I can’t imagine being on a plane that long.
  16. @grapau27. Graham, sending my best wishes that the shots give Sarah some relief. @Momof3gurlz. Deb, hoping you have safe travels and a wonderful cruise. Remind me again, are you doing a live cruise report? @dani negreanu. Also thinking of you and your family today. @Ocean Boy. Safe travels to your cruise tomorrow. Hope your flight is good to go. Will be interested in hearing your impressions of Odyssey. We enjoyed her and would book again.
