  1. We had umbrellas in our suite last Fall (first/only time for us as well). That's the only time I've ever seen umbrellas in a cabin.
  2. I think only full suites get umbrellas.
  3. We sailed on the Majestic last August, and it was great. Lovely ship. We had a basic balcony cabin on Lido, and we liked it a lot. I was a little worried about noise from the Hollywood Conservatory above us, but we never heard a thing. We loved the noodle bar! I wish all Princess ships had that.
  4. As far as I know, priority embarkation/debarkation is only given to suites, club class, Elites (boarding and leaving), and Platinum (boarding only). I agree with you on the covered balcony for AK.
  5. Majestic has two basic types of cc minis: M1 and M6. The M6 minis are on Lido and Marina, front corners of the ship. We had one on Marina, and there was partial covering on the forward part of the deck (the M6s on Marina have huge decks that go out over the bridge). I frankly don't know about the M6 balconies on Lido, but I suspect they're covered. The M1 balconies would all be covered, as far as I know. The sides of the Royal class ships are pretty much straight, rather than tiered like the Grand and Crown classes are.
  6. No, they're completely uncovered on both ships.
  7. I don't think there's anything really unusual about the non-cornflake French toast. I think it uses some kind of cinnamon swirl, thick sliced bread, so you'd need to find something like that or make your own. Otherwise, standard French toast batter should work. This isn't what you asked for, but it has the right elements in it and looks good to me: https://www.food.com/recipe/disneys-french-toast-49232
  8. Exactly! It's the best of both worlds. I have a great PVP that I make sure to have finalize the booking, and she's wonderful for doing the things I can't do for myself.
  9. Thanks! We'll be on the Diamond in November, and I've been wondering about that.
  10. Is your cabin on starboard or port side? I've only seen quarantine areas listed on port side.
  11. Have you looked at the summary under the Luggage Tag & Travel Summary link? I can see mine there.
  12. We were under the buffet kitchen once, and it was incredibly noisy. Never again!
  13. We only did this once, and our experience may certainly not be typical, but we got into Anchorage way later than we were supposed to. I don't remember if there was any reason given for that, and it didn't matter to us since we were flying out the next day. But if we'd had a flight home that day, it's likely we would have missed it.
  14. It is also over Club Fusion. I haven't stayed in a cabin in that location, but it might be noisy.
  15. We like the motion, and we don't mind the walk. Ten years or so from now, when we're in our eighties, we just might mind the walk. πŸ˜ƒ
  16. We like as far forward and as high up in the ship as we can get. The free upgrade moved us from that to midship.
  17. That's certainly true! It's not rocket science. It's just lack of thought processes.
  18. I've gotten upsell offers (pay more for the better cabin) and upgrades (what they think is a better cabin at no extra cost). I've never done an upsell, since the ones I've gotten weren't of value to me. I choose cabins carefully, so a better category cabin isn't usually anything I'd pay for. The last time I got a free upgrade, it was one I actively didn't like. I was able to get that rolled back. Usually, I have bookings marked no upgrade, but for some reason I hadn't done that on the booking that got upgraded.
  19. Good to know. I thought that must be how it was, but since this is our first time with EZ Air, I didn't want to make a silly mistake. Thanks. πŸ˜ƒ
  20. Showing ignorance here, but this is the first time we've used EZ Air. If I look at our travel summary, and I see ticket numbers, then it means the flight have been ticketed? We're 33 days out, and I see ticket numbers for both outbound and inbound flights. Also ignorant question: when checking in for the flights, do we do that on the airline's website or in some place I've never seen in Personalizer?
  21. Bummer! I always get that appetizer. And whatever the beef is and then souffle for dessert. Start the cruise off with a bang!
  22. All I can say is that I've seen folks getting turned away at the MDR for wearing shorts to dinner. But not lately.
  23. We just got our first shareholder credit, and I didn't send a form with it. What I sent was a two page pdf via email. Send it Friday afternoon and got the credit Tuesday morning.
  24. I've said this already in several other threads, so anybody who's seen my rant about the Botticelli dining room should skip this. πŸ˜ƒ We booked the Botticelli dining room for our cruise on the Ruby last Fall. Same 5:00 time as you've booked. Never again. The waiting area outside the dining room is small. Many, many people had also booked 5:00, so it was very crowded. Very, very crowded, and that was the case for every night. First night, we got a really great table for two and really great waitstaff, so we asked our waiter if we could be assigned to that table for the remainder of the cruise. He checked and told us it was done. But we still had to tuck into the line that snaked back and forth in that way too small waiting area. There was a Princess employee, who we dubbed "The Line Wrangler", who herded everybody into the line and kept some kind of order. We agreed that he had a worst job on the ship and that he was doing the best he could. But he wasn't letting anybody bypass the line, even if they had a table waiting. I'll never book at a dining room in that location again on any ship.
