  1. We've only used EZAir once, and that was on our most recent cruise. No problems at all. This was a round trip Seattle sailed, where we flew out on Alaska and back on Delta. If you're flying back from Seattle and have Princess transfers, I think Delta is the way to go. They have a check in/baggage drop right down in the drop off area so you only need to shlep your bags a very short distance, rather than down the hall, up the elevator, across the walkway and through the airport. I'm editing this to add the fact that our 11:15 am flight was outside allowable times for Port Valet. So we were very happy to be on Delta on miss all that luggage shlepping through the airport.
  2. I saw one sugar free on the Discovery last week. I think it was vanilla, but I'm not really sure. I wouldn't count on there being any, since at least one cruise I asked and was told they didn't have any.
  3. We'd never been to Icy Straight Point before, so we enjoyed the stop there last week very much. Highlights were the mountain gondola and the loop walk with about a dozen other folks and a bear guard with a rifle. No bears showed up.
  4. We just returned from the 8/21 sailing on the Discovery, and we had a fantastic cruise. Admittedly, the wifi wasn't as good as what we have at home, but I didn't expect it to be. It worked fine for what I wanted it for. Medallion also worked fine for what we used it for. We're elite, and the lotion in the bathroom was nice. Don't know if it was special or not. Nearly all the food we had was very good, and some things were extra very good. There were a few items that were just okay, but most were much better than that. I have a pretty good stack of tote bags, so I don't care if I get one or not. I never ate the pillow chocolates anyhow, but I suppose my DH, the pillow-chocolate-eater, might have missed them. My opinion of our cruise last week is that it was as good as any cruise we've ever done on Princess.
  5. My Android is a Samsung too, and it's the best cellphone I've ever had.
  6. I suppose they're marketing to those of us who can't add.
  7. I just checked, and I can't purchase on my Android either. This irritates me no end. I was able to purchase in advance of our cruise last week and got the 50% discount from the get-go. It's bad enough that so many people have had so many problems, but for something that was working to no longer be working is really outside of enough.
  8. Its the Skagway dining room, on deck 6 midship that's open.
  9. It's worth the extra price for us for two primary reasons and one less important reason. First, my DH has a very low tolerance for standing in lines, and CC takes care of that. Second, our very favorite cabins are CC on the Royal Class ships. Those two items definitely make it worth it for us. Another less important reason is that we prefer to eat all the meals we can in the MDR, and CC certainly makes that more pleasant for us.
  10. Could you tell where the noise was coming from? I looked at drag decks on Cruise Deckplans, and I'm not sure. You might have been over the Crown Grill kitchen, but I can't tell. Emerald deck seems out of scale on drag decks.
  11. I hear you on that! I wouldn't have called them either, but my DH had his heart set on that excursion. I figured it would be just my luck that it would sell out before they fix the website.
  12. I was having the same problem processing an excursion. I called Princes (because I need more aggravation in my life?) and was quickly connected to an agent. I told her why I was calling and she said that payment processing on the website isn't working at all right now She booked our excursion. I notice that I can't even load the payment page for our upcoming cruses. Do you suppose Princess has decided they no longer want to collect money? 🤣
  13. We had the same experience on the Discovery last week. We traded our minibar for coffee packages, but otherwise the same.
  14. Be sure and supply Princess with your flight details and make sure they give you the first walk-off group. If you get your debarkation info and you're not in the first group, go to customer service and ask to switch.
  15. We sailed on the Ruby last Halloween, and we saw a few (emphasis on the "few") people dressed up.
  16. Different people have different experiences. We eat early, and that was a hassle and a problem for breakfast and dinner on the Ruby without CC and a pretty much impossibility for lunch. No hassle and no problem on the Discovery with CC. Not saying I plan to always do CC, but I probably always will on the Royal class ships.
  17. We sailed on the Ruby last spring in a non-CC cabin. Lines were incredibly long for any food venue, and my hubby can't tolerate much of that. We just got back from a week on the Discovery in a CC cabin, and I can tell you that it was like night and day. There was a higher than average number of "sea days" on that trip, so we ate in the MDR all three meals more often. Being able to just walk in any time we felt like it and get better service at a table for two next to a window was worth it to us, even if you leave out the great M6 cabin we had. And several of the extra items in the MDR were very good.
  18. I've seen some posts about this, but I don't know that I've ever seen a fairly complete listing of the CC additional items in the MDR. If some or all of you have already seen this, you can skip reading it. 😀 Day 1 none offered at lunch we had dinner in the Crown Grill Day 2 Breakfast: Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream (five stars) Lunch: Penne pasta with fresh tomato sauce, pancetta, and onions Dinner: crostini with escargot appetizer, lobster thermidor with filet main Day 3 Breakfast: basically an egg mcmuffin. Why? Dinner: caesar salad with Cajun chicken appetizer, lamb chops main (these were as good as what we had in the Crown Grill on day 1. Five stars) Day 4 Breakfast in the buffet Lunch: penne pasta aribiata Dinner: Bronzino Day 5 Breakfast: Eggs benedict with smoked salmon (five stars) Dinner: mixed green salad with seared steak slices appetizer, rib eye steak with shrimp and crawfish sauce main Day 6 Breakfast: Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream Lunch: penne pasta with fresh tomato sauce, eggplant, oregano and olives Dinner: home made smoke salmon appetizer, beef steak with mustard mushroom sauce Day 7 Breakfast: crepes with Nutella, bananas and whipped cream (five stars for this one) Lunch: penne pasta with fresh tomato sauce and zucchini Dinner: mixed green salad with seared steak slices appetizer, shrimp with saffron rice main
  19. I understand your concern. I was on the Carnival Jubilee in 1991, and it was supposed to be docked at Mazatlan for the eclipse. Mazatlan was totally clouded over. The ship docked, let off all the people who wanted off, and went back out to sea. We sailed around in circles for a few hours, getting rained on a lot, and finally found a hole in the clouds. My hope is that Princess will do this if it's cloudy. I might be disappointed in that, but it's a fact that no matter where you put yourself for an eclipse, there's never a guarantee you'll see it unless you're in a plane above the clouds. I'm sorry if many of you have seen this tale of mine about the Jubilee too many times. I keep telling the tale because Carnival made the right choice and came through for all of us. Maybe Princess is paying attention?
  20. It's several little bottles of booze, like on planes, and some sparkling water and soda. We trade ours in for two coffee packages, which we really like.
  21. It's hard to say if you'd get seasick or not in a forward cabin. I get carsick on mountain roads - the movement of the car back and forth as it goes around corners really gets to me. But I don't get sick on cruise ships. We nearly always book high up in the ship and far forward, and I enjoy the motion. That might be the case with you too, but it's probably not worth pushing it and being miserable.
  22. We're in Oroville, so SMF is the logical choice. It's definitely a loooooong day to get back from FLL. I've got us going through DFW on the way out and AUS on the way back. This is in late February/early March, and I worry about weather. I kept us going the southern route, but even that may turn into a pumpkin. Not many choices this year.
  23. Wow! I don't like that at all. We're going to be flying back from there early next year. Bummer.
