When you have a moment, how is Oasis holding up? We are thinking about planning a family group cruise in 2025 for a couple "big" birthdays that year. The two options are a 6 day sailing on Oasis and a 7 day sailing on Symphony. I love Symphony. I'm the only one that has sailed with Royal at all. So, others really won't know much of a difference if we go on Oasis instead of Symphony. But, I will indeed know that Symphony is newer and a bit fresher. Im guessing that Oasis may be showing some wear in thr csbins or some public places. The Oasis sailing is less expensive so that's where the group is leaning. How does the ship look to you? Would be a good impression for a group of first timers? Thanks
Yep, same. I've been able to check in all parties that are on the same booking, right there when I'm logged in actually. I enter all passport info, credit card, etc. Picture was problem though, but not necessary.
On newer, E class ships, is it really worth the added money? I can see some possible benefit on the older ships.
I think the value depends on the ship.
I have not been on Icon. What do you all like better about the Oasis class? Like what are the differences with Icon that you like more on the Oasis ships? Thanks so much!
Symphony! I love the ship.
Nassau- there are safe and fun things you can do there. You do not have to stay on the ship If you dont want to stay on all week. I was there on 2 cruises during the past two months. Got off both times and did something I enjoyed both times. Plus, I did not feel unsafe there. It's not like the issues that are being reported there aren't happening in other places all over the world. But, not saying folks should not make their own decisions. Just saying we did not feel unsafe there and that nothing bad happened to us there during our last two recent cruises.
Happy cruising. Enjoy whatever you choose. 🛳 🚢
This may be a silly question, but people pay cruise fare to have Catalina island as a cruise port? I like Catalina Island, but I thought it was easy to get to and cheaper to get to than as a cruise port. But, I guess thats like people paying to have Port Canaveral as a port stop on some cruises.
Thanks. I watched a couple videos after the post. Yes, I definitely like A in Miami. It's so nice, easy to navigate, and a nice welcome for kicking off a cruise. T1 looks ok. Yes, I went out of one in Miami last December that seemed like it had been around a long time. I forget which one though. Thanks
Hello All, I am considering a November sailing on Icon. I'm guessing the crew now is all excited with the new ship and were on a little while before the first sailing to get into the groove. The show performers had all their time. Plus, the best crew from other ships were brought over to open the new ship. I'm a bit disappointed to miss the folks that are opening the ship.
Does anyone know how long contracts might be for the opening crew and entertainment staff? I'm wondering if around early fall, there will be a whole new set of crew on the ship getting in the flow of things. The cruise we are considering is scheduled for early November. I'm sure crew will always be great, but just wondering about the changeover time frame.
Thanks
Hmm, I wonder if there might be an updated version of this document out there somewhere since it sounds like maybe it's no longer as accurate as it was when it was originally distributed.
