Online check in- online muster drill
karena1 replied to nimbex1970's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We watch the video way before we board. Get on the ship, go to muster as soon as it opens. They scan you boarding pass, ask if you watched the video (say yes). And then pretty much done. Takes about 1 to 2 minutes. -
That is what they put on, we plan to leave the hotel at 10:15 to get to the port. Last April we waited maybe 35-40 minutes and they started boarding.

Independence of the Seas -- do they still have Grease?

OMG watch the garbage on TV and movies/songs/video games these days. Those musicals are super innocent compared to the crap out there today. -
Independence of the Seas -- do they still have Grease?
karena1 replied to SherriZ366's topic in Royal Caribbean International
OMG we love Grease! One of our favorite shows. Now if they would get rid of CATS on Oasis, I would be happy -
Not really true, you can call and get the Refreshment Pkg for the other cabin person. All you have to do is say they don't drink. have done it many times for family/friends.

Haven't cruised since pandemic- Need feedback
karena1 replied to depplep's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No masks required. We have cruised a ton since the restart and we are so happy ships are back to capacity. So great watching people having fun again. We think the food is fine, shows are great. Nothing to complain about as far as we are concerned -
Paradise Beach! It is the best. Gorgeous pool, great beach and service. Only place we go to when we are in Cozumel. Grounds are gorgeous, clean bathrooms. All Inclusive is $64 pp and you can get as much to drink/eat as you want. They also run sales from time to time. We love it there, been going there for years.

Icon - Are they prepared for the amount of kids?
karena1 replied to Angie2045's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not sure we will sail on Icon, at least not for a long time. 1. Prices are INSANE! I refuse to pay that kind of money to get on a new ship. 2. Seems like it will be a Disney Cruise, so not sure we want to deal with all the kids. We love kids, but don't want to be overwhelmed by them all day. 3. Ship seems very disjointed to me with all the "zones". Does not look like a lot of loungers at the pool where you can be out of the water and just enjoying the sun. Could be wrong, but just from the training I have done and the pictures I have seen, does not look like it. This is not to say we won't try it, but just like all the new ships, we will wait a couple of years and let the prices go down. We are finally going on Wonder October 2023 at probably 1/2 the cost of what it was when it was first out. Will do the same with Utopia - that we will go on for sure - but will wait until it is out for a while before we go. -
How strict are the boarding times?
karena1 replied to kroozaholic's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Again, depends on the port, but on Freedom out of Miami and Liberty out of FLL, have never seen anyone have to show their boarding pass and the time they were assigned. They open the doors and in you go. -
yes, but depending on the ship, MTD starts at different times.

I watch prices pretty much daily or every other day. I go in and do mock bookings. If it goes down from what I paid, i call and get it lowered. Unless it specifically for new bookings, I never have an issue getting price drops before final payment. I am a TA, but I did this even before I became one. You just have to take the time to check it.

My Time Dining on Allure Question
karena1 replied to robtx100's topic in Royal Caribbean International
lots of people eat early, but not our thing. Some nights we have to eat early to make a show, but our preference is 7:30 - 8. -
My Time Dining on Allure Question
karena1 replied to robtx100's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I agree, usually 6:30 to 6:45. But if that is too late, you are pretty much forced to take early dining. I am not sitting through 2-3 hour dinners anymore on a big table. We love getting our 2 tops in MTD and being in out in an hour to max 1.5 hours. -
I will never travel without a passport or insurance. We are 79 and 66. just not worth it. We cruise about 12 times a year, so having passports and insurance it a major thing to us.

My Time Dining on Allure Question
karena1 replied to robtx100's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We have been doing MTD forever and will never switch to regular. 5:30 is WAY to early for us to eat. -
yes, you can use the package as soon as you board Have no idea what a PAT is so cannot answer that yes, main dining or Windjammer buffet is open for lunch. no idea about mocktails as we drink the real ones, but pretty much anything that has booze can be ordered without it Cafe Promenade opens at 6:30 am. Get specialty coffee every morning after I go to the gym.

A few comments on Oasis of the Seas 1/5 to 1/15 cruise
karena1 replied to mared1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were on Oasis for our 3rd time early December (been on all the Oasis Class except Wonder which we are doing in October) and loved it again as usual. Only thing about Oasis that I wish was different is no bar in WJ. Love the bar on the Freedom Class ships in WJ. But food was good, entertainment was fantastic, except we don't go to CATS, wish they would change that to a different production show. We always go to Schooners at night for pre dinner drinks. We get the Beverage Pkg even with the free drinks for Pinnacle. Schooners is our favorite lounge in the evening before dinner. Love El Loco Fresh, great Mexican for snacks. Overall, Allure is my favorite, but like all the Oasis Class ships. We never have a problem getting loungers at the pool since we are up there by 7:30 am and stay all day except for bathroom breaks and maybe a 20 minute breakfast (well within the 30 minute rule). -
Does RCI still use the room keycards?
karena1 replied to ladybugpug's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Totally agree, plus don't want it hanging around my neck all day -
types of beer they have and prices? Are the servers coming around constantly or do they pretty much leave you alone unless you want something? We don't want to be bugged every 5 minutes.
