  1. @singinalot. I enjoyed following the journey. Thanks. Last week we visited Sharron's family. Her DB and SIL just got back from Turkey and shared pics. So I got a good double dose. Thankful you and Nate had another fun, safe adventure. Now please start considering going on the Bella 2 cruise. So many would love to hang out with you and Nate!
  2. @laurieal. Have you recoved fully from falling out of your chair earlier? It looks like the internet is working for you. What do you think. You probably already know that if it gets hard to post pics while at sea try at port from your cell phone. When we were there we got great 5g service at port and at least an hour after departure while on the balcony.
  3. We cruised Alaska last year. While in Sitka we visited the Sitka National Historical Park. There are totem poles all over and there is no fee to visit. Here's a map. Notice the port in the middle of the map and the park is east, to the left, of the port. We walked to the park. At the time I still had my mobility so I do not remember if it would be a challenge for you. Once there the paths are gravel but pretty smooth. Here are some pics that may give you an idea. After we visited the park we walked to the Alaska Raptor Center. There was a charge to go inside but I don't remember how much. You like birds so you would love this place. If you feel like you need transportation to go to these places I haven't done the research. I do remember right outside the port were several options. If you choose these places I am sure you will enjoy them. Good luck.
  4. If you have the ESPN app you may be able to watch it on your phone. We have done it before and it worked good.
  5. Sharon was having tooth pain last month. She finally went to the dentist. He checked it out, gave her a fluoride treatment and when she checked out she was not charged anything. We have a good medical community. Another advantage of living in a small town.
  6. When I noticed the middle fish I had to zoom in. The smiles on there face makes them look like cartoon characters. 😄
  7. We cruise with inflatable noodles. They are very light weight and fold up so they take up very little room. They work great!
  8. Laurie, sad to hear that you lost your grandfather. Good hearing that you had a great relationship with him. Sounds like you will always have great memories of him.
  9. We are almost to Sharon's mom house in Huntsville Alabama. 35 minutes to go. I like seeing license plates that have a cool saying!
  10. Thanks for getting this started. I am excited to follow. October 7th will be my 1st cruise with a wheelchair. I am renting a Whills. Last May we cruised from Hawaii to Vancouver. I used a rollator on that cruise for the 1st time. There were some super nice volunteers outside the port in Vancouver that helped us get to the taxi area. We have a deposit on an Alaskan cruise for next June on Ovation. I will be interested to see what you want to do at the ports. Have fun!
  11. That is so cool 😎 to hear. Ken, you know that there is a good chance I take you up on this! We will definitely have to video and take pics! One good thing, I have lost 10 to 15 pounds since we were last together. Should make it easier getting me to the top of the slides!
  12. I have already posted about several things done for us like all of the cards, meals, the TV stand being completed, etc and the prayers. Here are a couple more pics. A loving couple wanted to do something special so they bought me a lift chair! It sure is helpful. My SIL is friends with a Therapist guy that is part of a group that puts ramps in for people at cost! They understand how to design them so the slope is good. They finished this for me a couple weeks ago. It's almost the length of the garage.
  13. I've been meaning to post pics of the shower remodel. Several guys came in and tore out a wall, the bathtub/shower and moved water pipes and a/c vents. We then hired a tile company. The guys also replaced our original bathroom door with a barn door. The other side of the room had double sinks. We removed them to add room to move around. Sharon decorated the walls this week. And here is a pic of my 1st shower taken in the new shower!
