  1. The room stewards have enough to do without giving them this additional chore. Be kind to the crew and please arrange to hand them out yourself……
  2. I booked my own cruises for years because I never trusted anyone to do it for me. Then I met my wonderful travel agent on a cruise. He never pressured me to go with his agency and we were actually friends about a year before I started using him. I have his cell phone number and can always reach him by phone, text, email or private message anytime I need him. During the restart he was invaluable to me handling all my FCC applications. It’s hard to find a good one…..but so great if you do!
  3. The only time you have to worry about everyone in the cabin buying a package is when the Deluxe Drink Package (alcohol pkg) is involved. You can buy as many or as few other packages as you wish. They are just trying to keep people from sharing the alcohol package….
  4. The many, many cancellations and delays are one of the lead stories on the Atlanta news every single night. People are being stranded in the airport most times overnight, so I would say as far as our area…..it’s pretty chaotic! We have relatives that just got home after spending two days at the airport in New Orleans trying to get home!!
  5. Because you had already purchased the WiFi package you could have put your phone on airplane mode and turned on WiFi calling and you could have used the phone for calling and texting just as you would at home. You didn’t need the $10 a day package. Most times the international travel passes are for when you are in a foreign country not for the cruise ship as they operate off Cellular At Sea….
  6. Each D+ gets two days of internet and one free bag of laundry
  7. We have AT&T for our cell service. We purchase the WiFi pkg….put our phones on airplane mode (very important!!)…..turn on WiFi calling and then we can use our phone for text and calling just as we would at home..
  8. Yes you have to wait until the day of departure. The ability to be able to watch the video doesn’t show up until then and most times you have to wait until you are at least in the terminal for it to be available to view…
  9. if you look on the app and click on check in it should give you the date the check in will be available……usually it will be about 45 days before sailing. At the time you do your check in you will be able to select the time to arrive at the port. This is on a first come, first serve basis so the earlier you check in the better chance you have to get an early check in time. Luggage tags will be available at about 30 days before sailing. You can find those on the app or website…
  10. We just sailed on the Mariner last month to the ABC islands and had a wonderful cruise!! Be sure to visit Deck 14 for the best views in the house!!
  11. We were long time MTD diners too, but switched back to Traditional about 3yrs ago because of all the problems…
  12. it’s a personal choice but for me personally lugging all that stuff around until the rooms are ready 1:30-2:00 doesn’t appeal to me at all!!
  13. The mess with MTD started well before Covid……see my post above. This is a management issue they need to correct. we went back to Traditional fixed dining about 3+ yrs ago….
  14. My Time Dining became a complete mess well before covid when they decided to use the MTD dining room to seat early Traditional diners from about 5:30-6:45 or so…. This meant the earliest you could reserve MTD was usually around 7:00 which means everyone who used to dine early on MTD now want the earliest slots they can get. So what you have now is all the early diners and all who like to normally eat around 7:00-7:30 all coming at the same time!! I don’t know thought this was a good idea because MTD used to work fine when MTD had its own exclusive dining room. Because of this mess we switched back to fixed Traditional dining several years ago!!
  15. you are definitely going to need that printed results!!
  16. We have booked the Boardwalk balcony many times and enjoy them very much. We never seem to have a problem with the noise….
  17. The Rapid PCR (NAAT) test is acceptable for both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Results in less than two hours…
  18. I love San Juan as a port stop!!! But I will never leave on a cruise ship from there ever again….
  19. We sailed from San Juan once. It was some kind of school holiday (we didn’t know) and because the ship wasn’t full they highly discounted the price for those locally. Let me just say I will never sail from SJ ever again!!
  20. There were big problems when three ships were going out of Terminal 1, but now that the Mariner has been moved permanently to Terminal 5 it has seemed to have taken care of that…
  21. yes I remember now Carnival did change to 3 days…..but others such as Royal remain at 2 days….
  22. if you are vaccinated which cruise line allows you 3 days? For Royal it is 2 days…
  23. We prepay our gratuities when we book so if your reservations are linked there is a good chance this could be done over the phone now…
  24. As a parent of two educators (one is a principal) and a grandparent of two young ladies I can only go by how they handle their students and children. I can only say my granddaughters would have NEVER been allowed to act like that under any circumstances. They are many different ways of guiding and helping our young people to adapt from the previous two horrible years other than letting them conduct themselves inappropriately. It is our job to always guide them and help them find those ways…
  25. Sailing the Mardi Gras will be a different experience for sure. We tried it once and it was not for us…. But since you are young….if you enjoy the mega party experience you will enjoy the Mardi Gras. It is a beautiful ship….
