Hi there we have a flight to head home from Fort Lauderdale at 11:45 to fly to Nova Scotia via Toronto.... just wondering if anyone has experience with celebrity testing for travelers heading home... Is the wait long ?  We plan to disembark carrying our luggage...  We were booked before November 16 so our test should be covered... TIA...

We just got off the Millennium at 8 o’clock and booked a test at 8:30. We got off earlier went got our test at 8:15 and the results came back in 38 minutes. We also booked before Nov16 so they give you a card to hand in to cover the cost.

Ok, did I understand this correct....I am flying to Florida on Thur..March 24...Cruise is March 26....Can I go to Shoppers on Wed...23rd and get my test done? 3 days prior to cruising...  I am fully vaxed with booster...

Celebrity is 2 days ahead not 3. I don’t know about the others.

  3. Really enjoying your review, we will also be joining you on Feb 21.  We had this booked over a year ago then did not pay final payment due to Covid rules getting back into Canada but they are changing on Feb 28 so rebooked cruise yesterday & been rushing around trying to pack. The ship is great we were on it in Nov & they have done a fabulous update. Look forward to your review. Hope to see you onboard.

  4. For our cruise in Nov, we gave it three hours & it basically took all that, we had Nexus cards but to be honest there is still a lot of waiting for lines to move etc. it does take a lot of hurry up & wait.  Getting through security was the longest line.  Our flight was at 8:30 though.

If your deposit was refundable and you cancelled before final payment, yes, you should be getting the entire amount refunded. Thanks to those sailing in May who said their FP was extended. I will have my TA check for May 16.  Mine due tomorrow for May 6 was NOT extended.

Strange as our cruise is May 3 & it was extended, nothing from Celebrity yet but checked My Cruises & it was changed.

I just logged into my booking for this May, & my final payment date has been extended by 30 days...  which I'm quite pleased about...  last week final payment was due early February, & has now been extended to mid-March.  🙂

Thanks for this information just checked ours for beginning of May & our payment date has also been extended.

    Hi all

Traveling mid Feb on the Mardi Gras...CANT WAIT!!!   I am wondering if anyone has used CAA for their cruise insurance?  Any thoughts are welcome on CAA or other insurance companies.  I did purchase the Carnival insurance when I booked but figured I would need more especially due to Covid

    TIA

    Barb

We had a year policy before the pandemic & because of it we had put in a claim,  the good news is we did get all our money back, it took 6 months.  The bad news is we never ever spoke to a claims agent on the phone, everything was done by email & it was always initiated by us, so I was definitely not impressed.  Every time they promised to call us back but never did.  How would they be with a medical claim I have no idea.

One item to consider is that on the M-class, the A1 cabins on deck 11 have very minimal shade for the balconies while A2 on deck 9 have an overhang to provide shade / rain protection.  Our preference is shade so we avoid the deck 11 cabins.

My thoughts on Deck 9 is that the overhang is huge not the regular amount.

Hi we are looking at booking a cruise to Alaska in June 2023 - preferably aqua class A1 deck 11.  Have been looking at different views about loud movie/music noise on deck 12, roof top terrace and also doors banging near cabins, has anyone stayed in these cabins, did you find them noisy, what cabins are near the doors and was/could it be a problem.

We’ve been on other cruise lines, not particularly early risers but always before 9 and not early to bed although never manage to stay awake for late night disco ha ha.  Look forward to any help you can give with choosing cabin.

    Thanks

    Gill

We were on the Millennium in Nov & in cabin 1108, there was no noise issue. From either elevators or the above movie screen.   The doors don’t appear to slam as you say, no issues .

  10. We used Shoppers Drug Mart for our Nov cruise & edrussell is correct just make sure they type in the names correctly as they spelled my spouses name wrong & good thing we noticed it or it would have been a problem.  Other than that it worked great for airline & Celelbrity.

Shoppers also do their certificates on the computer, print them off & they did look very official plus we had them in 15 min.  We did not take our passports as we didn’t realize we had to but had drivers lic & Ohip card.

Yes but the app asks for front and back which of course we do not have in Canada. Ours is a two page pdf with QR code and dose dates on front and then some mumble jumble on the second page which is not really relevant. How long did it take for Celebrity to validate?

My cruise in December I just did the first page of the QR with the details.  I did both this time. In both situations I t was validated when I checked the next day.

We did not do back as of course we do not have it & had no problems with Celebrity.  Just be aware that once you do it, you cannot see it again on their upload it disappears.  At least it did for us.

Quick question for those of you who have sailed on Celebrity during the pandemic. When doing the online check in did you upload the two pages of your vaccine certificate or just the first page that actually has the information required? Also how long did it take for celebrity to validate the certificate? Thanks in advance.

We uploaded the Govt QR code it shows all 3 vaccines.

Eliminating the PCR test would make travel so much easier.  I keep holding on to hope that it will be relaxed to an antigen test, but Omicron caused on bump in taking that road in the near future.

The act for the PCR test to get back in to Canada is set to expire Jan 31,2022 so should be interesting to see if it is extended. We have a cruise on the Eclipse that also ends in  Vancouver on April 23, now it’s gone off the website & no one seems to know anything other than they are not allowed to sell anymore cabins as it is showing Red code.

    • Thanks 1
  14. DH called Celebrity Redeployment this morning & he was advised us that it was showing a red code meaning don’t book anymore cabins but he couldn’t say for sure why.  He was also told it was not showing cancelled yet & it wasn’t that unusual for a red code.  This was for April 16, so who knows, very frustrating.

  15. This has been a really bad year for allergies but I have to say that the ship (Millennium) was a great improvement for air quality over prior years probably due to the Hepa filters & more fresh air coming in to the ship.  My biggest problem on the cruise was if someone got on the elevator dripping in perfume but my mask helped that as I had a n95 filter inside my cloth mask.  You will be fine & you are right the Caribbean has always been great as no pollens at sea.  Enjoy your cruise & the martini bar.

    • Thanks 1
  16. After being on hold for 1hr & 30min then being hung up on David called back 4 hrs later to be told that the decision to change final payment date can only be made a week ahead & our final payment date is Jan 16 for our April cruise.  I just don’t think  anyone knows, too bad as we will also change our cruise to way further out. If they don’t give an extension.

Ontario had extremely high case predictions before and we came nowhere near close to it...  I wouldnt worry too much.

It would be nice if Air Canada gave money back... we are booking our flights today.  Debated on paying the extra price so we could cancel if we wanted.   But decided not to, and take the chance of loosing all our flight money.

It looks like Air Canada is offering to no change fees for a limited time, so you would not lose your money.

  18. I think you are getting a little confused.  Your plan is fine but you can upload the Arrive Can app any time before you go & save the information but it is used only for coming back to Canada & the last day of the cruise when you get your PCR test you add the info to the Arrive Can app & it gives you a QR code which you may need to show when you arrive back in Ontario.   You need the Attestation form for going to the US which just shows that you have had the Antigen test before you go.  I would just go with plan A.on Monday morning as I would rather be in Canada if positive than Florida.  In Nov we actually booked 2 antigen tests about 2 hrs apart just to make sure I got one then after we had the 1st test we canc the 2nd.  We did our test at Shoppers & waited 15 min for results.  Try not to worry it’s not really that bad as it seems.  Have a great cruise.
