  1. My post is not a complaint , just curiosity ! I'd love to know the formula that revenue uses for these offers. We have looked into using our gambling budget on Celebrity, since we cruise exclusively with them anyway. But we haven't committed to playing enough to get a free cruise as a Blue Chip level reward. We just don't have a feel for how much and how fair they are in computing it. But we do play a bit , and now several random offers have gone out this summer to low level players like us and we haven't heard a peep. I called today and was told a second wave of the offer will go out next week. We are in Florida and are retired so it's easy for us to jump on a cruise and sail in interior up to balcony staterooms which are the ones they are trying to fill. We're such a cheap date 😁. If Blue Chip flattered us by offering us something, they'd gain us as good casino customers, even on our regularly booked cruises ( we have 6 right now). If not, that's ok too!
  2. I'm gonna send an email to my CVP just to have something in writing, but i agree it will probably correct itself in time.
  3. Mine are all showing cancelled, the ones i upgraded ( but upgrade $ i paid is still showing as booked) and ones i have not upgraded yet.
  4. Same thing here. I have 6 cruises booked through 2024. Every one of them, when you go to "plan my vacation" and look at your orders, the 0.00 classic drink package that shows as an order when you have booked AI......now shows as cancelled , refund 0.00. Gotta love the IT department over at Celebrity.
  5. Just rechecked my December cruises. The tour is listed under shore excursions . It is advertised with the recommended excursions when you first go to the page. Also, there's a dropdown that allows you to click any day that there is anything available, port or sea day. All excursions for that particular day will show . See by the picture, there's no dropdown for day 3, which is a sea day. Im guessing it is sold out or not offered that day. Maybe that's the case on your sailing. Hopefully they add it at some point !
  6. I think I saw it listed under the excursions for my December cruises. I did the paid tour a few years ago. It was a few hours. Amazing ! Galley, laundry, i-95 and engineering ( control room). But the highlight was meeting Bug Naked , who was napping in her cat bed on the bridge. I recommend it, even without a ship's cat sighting 😀 In the past, I've done mini-tours, mostly through captain's club events. And somehow got invited to the bridge while on a Halloween cruise. I went in full pirate costume, one of my favorite cruise memories. I am quite excited to get one of those rare sailaway events or a bridge tour. As an interior stateroom aficionado, I'm proof it can happen at any.level.😁
  7. Congratulations! Enjoy every moment of your shipboard fame 😀. It's an honor I bet most of us on CC aspire to !
  8. Definitely a conspiracy! Through no fault of my own, somehow i ended up with 5 booked. Then Celebrity had a flash sale and I was forced to add #6 as a b2b with #1. Now, thanks to @Ken the cruiser and @Jim_Iain and their nefarious trip reports 😀 ....I'm waiting for 2024 Iceland, which may add 2.....maybe 3...... Darn you, Celebrity! Darn you, Cruise Critic!
  9. Thanks for that look at RCL! Celebrity is an excellent fit for us, but I keep wondering if we should at least try RCL. Everything I've read over the years leads us to "nope" and your description leads me to a definitive "no way, no how, never 😀".
  10. @Ken the cruiserThanks for taking us along on your cruise! Great information on this ship and these ports as well as he fun of traveling vicariously, I am now researching this cruise if it comes up for 2024. I am looking forward to your November cruise and safari. It sounds so unique that I am willing to migrate off the Celebrity board to read it!
  11. There is no dedicated space for elites, used to have the nightly event with drinks and snacks in a bar ( usually Sky lounge) but sadly that is no more. We had just gotten to elite when it ended. That was a bummer. I know some free drinks are now available for elite/plus at most bars for those two hours , but it was the "I'm going to an event" that was the cool part 😀
  12. You just insulted the OP for asking a question. It is no more a "bizarre fascination" than any other facet of cruise ship life that others inquire about.
  13. I agree! But it's not just young people. There's a heck of a lot of entitled people in all age groups.
  14. That's a bummer. I alway look forward to taping one to my Celebrity Cruise document folder . Those mailed tags were all that remained of the old days of the Document Dance when your paperwork came in the mail.
  15. @Jim_Iain I love today's pictures! You guys look like you're having so much fun!
  16. Me too! Im sailing December1st 😂.
  17. I would go with the Equinox, especially with that type of stateroom. Those "hump cabins" have huge balconies and close to the elevators but not noisy! The one you have reserved is on the back of the hump, and those are great. If you are interested, in the "deluxe balcony " category some of the forward angled ones are available, like 7260 and 8226. Those give you a great view all the way forward while at sea...a little windy at the railing but not bad.
  18. Thanks for this perspective! Your post, and @MamaFej have given great info on what the current rough spots are, without being doomsayers 😀. It's always good to keep the current situation in mind when comparing a cruise right now to past ones. We were lucky to be able to sail twice soon after restart , with ships at 1/3 capacity, and we joked that we have to leave those out when rating our best cruises or it just wouldn't be fair. It felt like a 6 to 1 staff to guest ratio sometimes! If you stood still for a moment, there was someone asking if you needed anything. There was always a sun lounger or a window seat or room at the Martini bar. Now we have 21 nights on Equinox this December, we're prepared for things to be back to full capacity and probably more disorganized than usual. I've read enough here on CC that Im ready for it. And if i have moments when I am frustrated, I will remember how lucky we are to be there !
  19. My personal experience, as an inside stateroom person, i have found no pattern to price drops. It just takes a lot of watching pricces. I have gotten some great ones over the years, only one after final.payment. For example, I am on the December 1, Equinox and it was a great deal booked right after sailings restarted in 2021. So it hasn't dropped below my price. But the next cruise, December 12, which was always higher priced , suddenly a few weeks ago, had a huge sale on certain categories, including inside. 10 night cruise 565 pp cruise only or around 1070 pp all-included. Refundable deposit and 200pp obc. Go figure. After a week or so, prices have gone up again. I've been watching the cruises I've booked and the cruises id like to book for years now. Best I can guess is it comes down to a category or sailing that isn't selling well, so they "flash sale" it.
  20. That stinks. I feel bad for you, and especially for those who aren't B2B. Back in 2013, we were on a transatlantic cruise with Iceland and Greenland. An extratropical storm put an end to all 3 port days up there. I learned a tough lesson about never planning a cruise around the ports. That's one reason I'm so intrigued by your trip this year! I would love a b2b to maybe b in that region. Redundancy !
  21. Seeing that forecast.....don't go up there until the weather calms down in a few days!
  22. @Jim_Iain I apologize if I missed it among all the great photos...were you able to get a photo of the Mast bar cigar smoking area? Thanks, Margaret
