  1. it seems to be fairly rampant right now on several ships regardless of where the exposure occurred.
  2. The only areas on Equinox revolutionized were the concierge class and up staterooms and suite areas. No upgrades or refreshing to any public areas outside of that. Not impressed. Silhouette was fully revolutionized and beautiful.
  3. About half of our group on the Equinox a couple weeks ago caught Covid. That’s about 60 people just in our group. I did a B2B and there were all kinds of posts the week after our group cruise. I bet half the ship was infected. That said it was just a cold for us. No reason for alarm but I found the cleanliness and disenfsction of the ship to leave a lot to be desired. Our stateroom even had crumbs and water marks from the previous week. No hand sanitizers at elevator banks or most common areas anymore. Probably more cost cutting.
  4. The deals are on the cruise only rates. You can’t beat $249 inside, $299 Oceanview, and $349 balcony prices.
  5. Yes. No need for the AI for us on the 7 day sailing- only one sea day and one day out of the US. So won’t need drink or internet package.
  6. Seems most lines are having trouble filling the LA sailings. Royal and Carnival also have rock bottom pricing.
  7. Has anybody taken note of the prices in the Eclipse sailings out of LA? We have a couple booked with unbelievable pricing. They must be having a very hard time selling these sailings. We have two weeks booked at less than $500 pp per week in a standard balcony. Hoping the experience doesn’t match the price!
  8. Bottom line- if they were serving even decent food, had quality service, and it was more of an event, I would dress up. I did in the decades past. As somebody else said, it’s maybe a TGI Fridays or Applebees quality dinner, so that’s the effort they’re getting. I’ll wear shorts and a golf shirt.
  9. It was good when it was rolled out. Did 4 nights on the Summit for $700 a person AI in aqua class last year. Next cruises October in December on Apex it doubles the cost of the cruise practically.
  10. I don’t care so much about what somebody is wearing, but I don’t want to be sailing with a trailer park and it has seemed like that’s what the crowd was on my last few cruises.
  11. Totally different programs but we enjoy the Elite status on Celebrity. Both programs have their plus and minuses.
  12. How are you picking a machine and what are you betting betting for all these jackpots?! Do you stick with a machine or move around?
  13. Not surprised. Have had similar experiences over the past 2 years. Absolutely absurd.
  14. Half of Royal Caribbean’s client base nowadays look like they just rolled out of bed and into a Walmart super center. The shorts debate is long gone. Practically anything goes on these ships now and there’s no need to dress up to have them serve you your microwave quality dinner in the MDR 😂
  15. We have been much happier with Celebrity and Disney on recent cruises, but Celebrity is an older crowd and Disney is well… Disney. Lol. Celebrity has also fallen in quality.
  16. Food is virtually inedible in the free venues now. We were going to sail the remainder of our booking with non-refundable deposits but decided today to cut our losses and vacation elsewhere. It’s not worth our vacation time to stay on what has become like a floating Holiday Inn Express. We took most of our vacations for the past 24 years on Royal at a total of 49 sailings. To say I’m disappointed that it is ending is an understatement 😢.
  17. I don’t usually celebrate people losing their jobs. I thought he was great, but yes was probably expensive.
  18. The beaches in St. Maarten were unusable and smelled ungodly last month when we were there. It was piled up 10 feet wide and three feet high along a lot of the beach.
  19. Mimics how we felt on Serenade. She was in pretty rough shape and the food was disappointing, but nonetheless glad to have a year round ship in Tampa. Brilliance, though an older sister, is much better.
  20. They could replace all the broken windows, replace carpet, and deep clean if properly planned. It is desperately needed. Do you think they took it out of service for 3 days NOT to give it some attention?
  21. Agree. Went on Serenade twice earlier this year as well as Brilliance. Serenade was in rough shape and not a good experience either trip. We really enjoyed Brilliance. They were like night and day. I saw them replacing windows and painting the hull while docked in Tampa Friday. Hopefully they are doing some major work in these 3 days.
