  1. Celebrity makes no guarantee that there will be any clergy on board. And there isn’t any way of telling at a time if there will be someone who can celebrate mass on your cruise. Sorry.
  2. The elite happy hour is no longer an exclusive event. When you go to a bar and order a drink from the happy hour menu, others in that same location will be on beverage programs and there’s really no way of telling who is who. So there is no one going to stop you if you take a drink or a glass of wine with you into the dining room
  3. You can absolutely take your drink to the dining room from whatever bar you order it in. Most of the people who answer the phone have never actually been on a cruise ship and don’t really know how it works. Back when they used the sky lounge as the elite happy hour location, there was a door keeper and they stop you from taking drinks out as you left. But now that you can order the drinks at virtually any bar on board, there are no restrictions anymore and you can take your drink from the bar to the dining room.
  4. No worries….I know you’re just trying to do the best thing for your dad on this cruise.
  5. I agree that it is very confusing and frustrating. If you show up at the main dining room with your aqua colored room key, they politely tell you to go to blue, your assigned dining room. And the advice to make the earliest possible reservation for the three of you once you are on board is spot on. As the night goes on, The Dining Rooms fill up. Arrange for the first possible time and you’ll be able to walk right in.
  6. I think you will find that the MDR reservations have been canceled if you are in an aqua state room. I know it doesn’t look that way, but that’s what happens. Blu does not have reservations. It’s all open seating. And that is your assigned dining room if you have an Aqua stateroom.
  7. You have a complicated situation because blu is all open seating, no reservations, and he won’t be able to join you there. Since you are in Aqua cabin, you actually do not have Reservations in the MDR, even though it looks like you do. There is a flaw in the booking system which applies to passengers and suites and passengers in Aqua which makes it look like they are booking specific reservation times, but in fact they are not. So even though it looks like you have booked the MDR, you really haven’t. I have no idea why Celebrity can’t fix this. It is a well known issue and has been going on for years. If you plan to forgo your table in blue and go to the main dining room instead, please coordinate that with the maître d’ of blu. As to having your father eat earlier, see a maître d’ on your arrival on the ship and they should be able to work that out for him with no issues.
  8. Suite passengers can bring guests to Luminae for meals for a fee.
  9. That is correct. Elite get one free bag and one discounted bag, Elite Plus get two free bags of laundry.
  10. Constellation for the extra days, the balconies, and the Sky Lounge
  11. Without knowing the specific country, I would not venture a guess whether something like that would be likely to be allowed.
  12. They quarantine noro-infected passengers, too, you know…….if it ain’t one virus, it’s another……
  13. Mine didn’t seem especially dark. I appreciated being able to open the sliding glass door for fresh air and not having the room air conditioning turned off and I also liked the standard black out curtains rather than the rollup shade
  14. I think you are mixing this up with the Royal card. On Celebrity it was a punchcard, or rather a numbered card and they crossed off the numbers as you used them. And it was advertised. There was a sign at Café Al Bacio and also they mentioned it in the daily program.
  15. Yes Celebrity did have a coffee card for a short period of time. I’m pretty sure I posted a photo of it but the search function doesn’t find it. I remember it because the first time I saw it mentioned they misspelled coffee. (That was quickly corrected ). The search did however find a thread where others discussed having purchased a coffee card. Here is a screenshot of a couple of the relevant posts.
  16. Yes you can do that but understand that it’s a lot of food.
  17. There is localized crime in Mexico. Also in Chicago, San Francisco, El Paso, Miami etc. etc. The point being, the entire country is not a crime zone anymore than that entire US is.
  18. Let me ask you something. What appropriate to give to your grandson for his birthday? $10? $25? $100? $500? Everyone has their own ideas and the same is true for tipping. What is appropriate for one person is excessive to someone else. Or stingy.
  19. In the current power up point webinar, LLP describe Celebrity as the “culinary brand”. I nearly choked when I heard that. Maybe it once was, but no more. On my recent equinox Cruises I had pork chops which could not be cut they were so hard and dry, lukewarm onion soup which I asked to be replaced and all I got was more lukewarm onion soup, Unappetizing and unappealing offerings at dinner in the ocean view Café, Starchy lukewarm pasta in the MDR, no prime rib at dinner, And honestly the list could go on but I’m depressed just thinking about it.
  20. You should receive a sheet of paper in your state room on embarkation day listing all the Captains Club events that your tier is eligible to attend. Generally they do not put the Captains Club events on the app or in the daily program so keep that paper for reference.
  21. Room service is not available on embarkation day. If the weather is decent you could try the hamburger Grill, poolside.
  22. Have you checked the Power Up Points thread? It’s posted in there.
