  1. Not me but some if my young adult kids have. My son flew down to SC to celebrate his 21st birthday with his twin and lost his drivers license. Another sibling was flying down the next day and brought him his passport card (really didn’t want him carrying his passport around at the bars). My kids have misplaced their licenses before and it’s nice to have a backup, especially since this age group needs ID frequently. $30 over 10 years, worth it to me.
  2. The one article? There are tons. Just because you haven’t seen one of the 3 - 4 deaths a year doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. I think I first heard about the dangers while watching Below Deck, but a quick google works as well.
  3. You do realize that a harbor pilot had a 1 in 20 percent of dying every time he boards a ship? Very highly paid job, but extremely dangerous.
  4. I’ve never seen anyone actually swim in a pool on a cruise, they’re packed in like sardines.
  5. They want/need you to leave, the vibe definitely changes. I think you usually need to be out of the cabin by 8, they need to clear the ship before new passengers board.
  6. But for an extra $30 we always get it in addition to our passport book.
  7. Maybe it’s because we always got into taxis right at the port, and returned in taxis we got into at resorts, but during the 8 times we’ve used them, no issues. One was really fantastic going to Cable beach, talked the whole time about the area, it was a bonus tour.
  8. Teen clubs are for meeting others to hang out with. My 5 are very close in age and close to each other, yet always found their own groups of friends on cruises, on the last one dd14 had a group, ds14 had a group, dd16 had a group, ds19 and dd20 shared a group (more difficult without a club). He won’t be hanging around with 12 year olds, they sort themselves out.
  9. Unless they can’t, then they will get you to the next port.
  10. We are a family of 7, were always charged $5 each, never any waiting. Did you offer to share the taxi? Taxi is definitely faster and there is no walking, water taxi is good if you aren’t in a hurry and don’t mind walking, we wanted to get to Atlantis asap and grab loungers/lockers.
  11. How the heck do you know this? They could’ve gotten lost, they could’ve had an injury and went to an urgent care, not all pier runners (and I’d say very few) ae due to outside excursions.
  12. It’s $21 a day, his many frozen drinks and sodas do you drink?
  13. Same price as land taxi, but you have to wait for it to fill. A taxi takes you right to Atlantis.
  14. Two bedroom suites tend to be a lot more than connecting balconies (we have 5 kids). There are ships with cabins for 5, you need to call and book early. Maybe use a TA?
  15. I think they would need to use the nursery if under 3. Some ships have small splash areas for diapered kids (no pools) some don’t.
  16. My 27 year old looks young, she was recently asked to leave a bar because they insisted her ID was fake (it wasn’t). She was with her 4 younger siblings.
  17. That’s a week long winter break for many in the northeast.
  18. Says every parent of a previous generation!😂
  19. Schools in our NJ district (close to manhattan) starts 9/6.
  20. I’m guessing there were flight delays here in the nyc area, heave rain and winds all day yesterday.
  21. In manhattan you get dinged even for small SUV’s, I always have to pay the large vehicle surcharge on my odyssey, but I’d be happy not to!
  22. Just booked a Boston hotel for next month, $450 a night, $30 for parking but the website said that’s for cars and that larger vehicles will have a surcharge (I drive a minivan).
