  1. Missing Mass is a sin (unless there isn’t a way to go), it can’t be replaced by another service.
  2. NCL doesn’t have early or late seating, you can make a reservation or just show up. On all of our NCL cruises we’ve never made a reservation and never waited for a table for our family of 7 in a MDR.
  3. Not an issue, no lobster on MCL in forever.
  4. I happily got my kids off bottles and formula by age 1 (and I’ve never sterilized, just washed with soap and water if not the dishwasher). I can’t imagine sterilizing anything for a toddler, their hands and mouth are on everything. You might be able to use a small blow up pool for the shower. Definitely bring a stroller.
  5. I’m equating a possible broken arm to a fever, not an emergency. I’ve raised five children into adulthood, every trip to the ER was necessary. Some injuries/illnesses aren’t emergencies and can wait until the next day. Pediatrics offices and urgent cares and much better options in many places, but not open at night.
  6. In most ports food taken off of ships is supposed to be factory sealed.
  7. If my child had a fever in the middle of the day I wouldn’t take that child to the ER, maybe the pediatrician if presented with other symptoms or urgent care. As a parent I assess the risk, a fever or broken bone are not emergencies in most cases. Unfortunately there are people who go to the ER for every little thing.
  8. I’m sorry, I’m not taking a child with a sore arm to the ER in the middle of the night, fevers can indicate something serious too but I’m not taking a child to the ER in the middle of the night for a fever unless it’s super high.
  9. Mom of 5 here, kids get hurt a lot, I don’t know a parent who’s bringing a child to the ER in the middle of the night for a possible broken bone. My son broke his ankle and it was super obvious he needed medical attention (ambulance brought him to a pediatric trauma center but he had to wait until morning because he ate dinner and needed surgery), my daughter broke her wrist, again obviously broken, went to the ER and they X-ray’s, wrapped it and told us to get her in with an orthopedist the next day. Not that many simple breaks get cast overnight. Sprains/brakes tend to be wait and see injuries with kids (mine were dancers/athletes and had a lot of sprains).
  10. 18 year olds are legal adults, I am not responsible for a 19 year old in my care because they are not in my care. My 5 kids are now all legal adults, going on vacation with them on Saturday. Some are bringing friends/SO’s, but again, all adults.
  11. As a parent of many kids between the ages of 19 - 25, the list seems heavy. Why can’t the “kids” link their expenses to a credit card of their own? Why do adults have curfews? Can the 19 year old go ashore on their own? On our last cruise our oldest were 19 and 20, we had no written agreement, but they did have dinner with us every night and went on the one excursion we had planned (all inclusive day pass = free drinks).
  12. We liked RUI and went to Melia before it was AI. Even at Atlantis there were vendors, we were a little harassed at every hotel beach.
  13. It literally takes 5 minutes to fill out a document for medical decisions, my mom used to watch my sister’s kids for a week every year so she could go to Europe, almost every time someone has an ear infection or injury requiring a trip to urgent care. Speaking of which, I’d make sure they had trip insurance that covered medical.
  14. I do t think it’s worth it, and we’ve done it twice. Think of it like WDW, you want to be there when it opens. We got there at 9, grabbed a couple of chairs, got the lay of the land, were in line when the slides opened at 10, enjoyed then for a few hours before big lines, then used the pools, went to the beach, toured the digs, and were done by 4 or do.
  15. Both are about a 15 minute taxi ride, Melia is on cable beach but I don’t know if they still have day passes. Looks like RUI is $130 (I think it was about $80 when we went), but they had a very nice breakfast and lunch buffet included, plus drinks were included.I remember a DYI Bloody Mary and mimosa station.
  16. And a package of disposable bibs runs about $20.
  17. If the shuttle doesn’t have sears belts boosters won’t make a difference.
  18. On our first cruise the kids were 4, 4, 6, 9 and 11, we had 2 CONNECTING cabins, and had them for every cruise. It’s really like being in 1 cabin with the connecting door open. That’s how we travelled in hotels too. Even on our last cruise, when the range was 14 - 20, we still liked keeping the door open to check on when and if they came back at night. I remember our 19 year old wandering in in the wee hours without dd20, not cool dude, go back and get her.
  19. No protein shakes but there is milk and ice.
  20. I do t know if he can bring in shakes, my kids use powder in shake cups (with a wire ball that mixes it). There was a cruise when my son brought them on, but that was back when you could bring beverages.
  21. I’ve never heard of this hotel offering parking packages, guest parking is $35 a night. Usually the NJ hotels that used to offer cruise packages were in remote areas with free guest parking.
  22. I don’t think they ever run out of parking spaces.
  23. Used them with my kids, plus they have a pocket to catch food. Definitely helps keeping food off of the floor.
