  1. You are missing where it says to add a promo code and exclusive rate discounts. It is on the screen where you put in the number of guests in the cabin. Scroll down a little.
  2. Many feel a $1 tip is enough on a $13 drink. It is up to you to decide what you feel is appropriate.
  3. I am glad he got a replacement and is good to go!
  4. Grandma might have typoed or got his age wrong on the initial post. I know my mother would be hard pressed to get all her grandkids ages right, she would be close but doubt she would know them all.
  5. Look at you two jumping to conclusions. I said we put our set sail pass in our apple wallet and have our other required documents in a file on our phones and that using you phone is very simple. I said nothing about have backup as that was not what I was addressing. Both my DH and I have each other's information on the other's phone, so I do have a back up. Our vaccine cards are in our passport covers but they are never taken out as the digital version was fine. We did not have a paper backup of our negative test results or ArriveCan as we had to do both after we arrived in Seattle and chose not to print at the hotel. All that information was in our email, the file created on our phones, each other's phone and in the respective apps. I could have accessed if needed. Set sail passes can be printed by the reps at the pier in the event you do not have one. We had ourselves covered. One of the port workers who was doing the final document check before you went up the escalator to check in actually commented how organized we were and that having the documents in one file to show her made it very easy. We have belt, suspenders and a change of clothes, we are good, we will sail!
  6. We always put the set sail pass in our apple wallet and just show that. You don't need signal as some claim, so it is not an issue. We each had our negative test results, vaccine record and ArriveCan information in a file on our phone that we just showed the reps as we went through all the points that they were checking information. Very simple.
  7. Children's passports are only valid for 5 years. You don't get a 10 year passport until age 16.
  8. We have done Alaska, Pacific Coastal, NE/Canada and Bermuda on Radiance class ships. We were happy when we heard they were sending a larger ship to Boston this year since we have done NE/Canada on three different Radiance class but wished it was something newer than Voyager.
  9. If you are a AAA member, try getting an appointment for a real ID there. I have 4 AAA stores within a short drive of me that all have DMV in them, got an appointment easily. Not sure if they have that in NJ, they do in MA.
  10. Radiance class has a lot that like the glass elevators facing the ocean. We have sailed on all of that class, multiple times on Jewel. It is a much more sedate cruise on a more classic ship than one with all the bells and whistles of Oasis class or Quantum class. Not our favorite class of ship but we would definitely sail any of them again for an itinerary we want and a good price.
  11. Some temporary licenses have a picture on them. Ours are paper but has our picture on it too. OP, how old is the passport? If it is only recently expired, they might take that too.
  12. That is a very popular week due to school vacation week, so wouldn't be surprised if there are no cabins for 3 or 4 people. It also could be that there are cabins that can sleep 3 or 4 people but they ship has reached lifeboat capacity and will only book cabins for 2 people. Not all sofas in a cabin are sofabeds either and they will not let you book 3 in a cabin for 2.
  13. There is nothing wrong with him helping out but his deck crew does not know their jobs. They need to get into their routine before he steps in and does everything. The bosun hasn't been given the chance to lead his people. The new crew needs training by the bosun if he is ever going to be seen as their leader.
  14. He needs to let his bosun do his job. The Captain is everywhere, he needs to oversee and not jump in and do the mundane stuff. Let his team do their jobs.
  15. The cruise line has told you they need you to provide a negative test taken two days prior to your sailing. It is defined and understood by thousands on a daily basis.
  16. The cruise line is not going to accept responsibility, you have to accept the responsibility of getting tested. You have many choices, some much more expensive but they exist.
  17. There are many ways to get a test, you just have to decide if you are willing to pay a premium to get a test done if your cheaper options fall through. If it is causing you this much stress now, cancelling sounds like the right choice.
  18. Some of the terms in rugby lead to some interesting novelty tshirts. I have seen a woman at a game with a tshirt that read "My daughter is a hooker". Luckily, my son never wore some of the more graphic ones. The worse he had was Give, Blood, Play Rugby.
  19. My son has played 7's, 11's and 15's. He is built for 15's though, 7's is too fast a game for him. He was a hooker in high school but now plays tight head prop. He does most of the line outs though for his current team as the current hooker can't throw. Professional rugby in the States is fairly new and he did play one year for a team in its provisional year.
  20. Rugby takes a while to understand the rules but it is a fun game to watch. My son has been playing for more than 15 years, he played all through high school, college and still plays now as an adult.
