  1. That isn't always the case. We just stayed in a suite on Quantum and the room service guy insisted on bringing the food into the cabin and putting it on the dining table.
  2. I just sailed on the May 16th sailing of Quantum and our room service was delivered to the inside of our cabin.
  3. The Golden Room is the Diamond Lounge, not the Music Hall. The "cage" from the Golden Room is still in the Diamond Lounge.
  4. Grandeur does not have Royal Suite Class, so Voom is not included with your suite. There will be a happy hour in the suite lounge with drinks available from 4:30 to 8 or 5 to 8:30.
  5. Sure, they have the little drink sticks that pack easily.
  6. Answers are ship dependent. What ship are you sailing?
  7. I have no words, Marietta. Just love them as I am sure you are doing. Cry with them, laugh with them, and get them counselling if they need someone to talk to. Make sure you and Charlie take care of yourselves too. My heart breaks for all of you.
  8. The Noodle Shop did have open hours on the May 16th sailing and had a menu consisting of five items: fish & chips, chicken fingers & chips, beef satay, chicken satay and some kind of chowder. I never actually saw anyone eating there but had heard the beef satay was nasty. Most of the time, the outer area was used as a pop up shop, selling Alaska blankets, hats, jackets, etc. I wish they had kept the Noodle Shop menu instead. Starwater was in rehearsal on our sailing and we saw the rehearsal twice. It looks like a magnificent show. The female lead singer is amazing! I would definitely not miss that show.
  9. We ate at Ivars which is down near the ferry terminal and the big ferris wheel one night. We had taken the Bainbridge Island ferry over and back just to get a beautiful view of the area. At $9.25 roundtrip pp, it was great! Other night we had been to Pike Place Market for the afternoon and had eaten a little of this and a little of that as we walked around, so we just grabbed some wings and a drink at the lobby bar as we weren't that hungry.
  10. We just stayed at the Marriott Waterfront May 14th and 15th. You are sailing from pier 91 and there is a shuttle from the hotel to the pier for $11 pp cash. We signed up with the concierge once we checked in. The first shuttle is at 10am and the van holds 10 passengers. You so you are aware, there is lots of work being done on multiple floors of the hotel. They seem to be doing over bathrooms as our room had all new tile. Looking out the balcony of our room you could see into multiple rooms on multiple floors with new mattresses leaning on walls and other construction materials. The second day we were there (Sunday) was a really rainy day with playoff games on tv, so our plan was to watch a game in our room. Right after breakfast, construction started in the room above us with loud drilling in the floor above happening off and on. We called and complained and the noise stopped, for a while, and then it was just every once and a while. I would make sure to ask that you are not near the construction when you check in.
  11. She is hanging in there. One of my brothers, his wife and their daughter flew in and visited my Mom from Tuesday until Friday while I was on the cruise. They took really good care of her and got her out for lunch a few times too. My sister, who lives near me, has actually been going to see my Mom every other day since they left. She has finally stepped up. She will take my Mom to the doctors this week for a followup and will cover until I can go see my Mom. The neurosurgery referral finally came through but that is not for a couple of weeks, so I am hoping I will be able to go to that. My Mom does not want me near her at all until I test negative, but not sure that is going to work if I am one of the people who test positive for a long time. Time will tell....
  12. We enjoyed the suite a lot. It was very quiet and was great for viewing Alaska. Really enjoyed having two bathrooms as that makes getting ready so much quicker. The suite concierge was the best we have ever had, reaching out to us multiple times before the cruise, escorting off in port and really helping us once I was sick. Coastal Kitchen was good but inconsistent. The menus would say one thing and the entrรฉe that came out would be very different. Caprese salad said buffalo mozzarella but was burrata and was topped with avocado, which I have never seen on a caprese. Mozzerella sticks were actually sharp cheddar sticks. Potatoes on any dish were never what was listed and were always undercooked. I am not into crunchy slices of potato in an au gratin. Some entrees were excellent, like the filet mignon the first night and a roasted chicken dish with farro. Weird that one nights entrees were actually the day before lunch entrees. I am glad we went with a loft to see if we like them better but I think if we go sky class, we will stay with a GS or OS unless the price is right.
  13. Yes, it was, I felt like he touched the back of my skull. ๐Ÿ˜ต There were a bunch of crew in the corridor that I heard him testing too and they would gag and sneeze afterwards. He only gave my DH an antigen test since he was testing negative, so he just got the short swab. I wish they had done a PCR test on him too but they tested him hours after me, so I think they just wanted us out of there. I was there almost 5 hours! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
  14. How are you feeling? You might be testing negative by then anyway. At least you have a test that it looks like they will accept though, so you don't have to go get another.
  15. I am following this too as the report I have from Quantum does not have all the information their website says it needs to, like the lab's CLIA number. I would hope that they would accept a test report from one of their own ships though. It does say it was an RT-PCR and then has a paragraph about methodology. It really doesn't matter at this point since I don't have anything booked but just incase we change our mind in the next three months. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-recovered-from-covid-19-need-to-be-vaccinated-or-take-a-test-to-sail
  16. It was inevitable he was going to get it between all the cases on the ship, me sick, and coming home to our son sick. Who knows who it actually made him sick. So far, he is just runny nose. I tested negative on May 20th but positive on May 21st, both with home tests. I went to medical and they did a PCR to confirm my test. That was positive for covid but negative for influenza a, influenza b and for RSV. I was supposed to get my results and other information from guest services the morning we disembarked but got nothing. Luckily, we had been in contact with the suite concierge and he said he would get it for us if it wasn't sent to me. KK got my results and a letter for my refund for my isolation time. He also escorted my DH off the ship with all of our luggage all the way to elevator. I am just trying to understand whether or not I need to start counting from day 0 again before I can see my Mom. I still have symptoms so hadn't planned on going anytime soon, but I just want to get a better idea. I would get a PCR if I were you since you need ten days after that test.
  17. Another one bites the dustโ€ฆ. I am still showing positive and DH has now joined me. ๐Ÿ™. Mine is fading though.
  18. I am home. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am improving, no more fever, still coughing but inhaler helping. Hope to eventually get my taste and smell back though. Thanks for asking. ๐Ÿ™‚
  19. @ReneeFLL I hope both you and Mike are doing better after your bought with Covid. @molly361 I am so sorry you are positive too and had to cancel your cruise. That is awful you kept getting notifications from the ship, that happened to me too for my cancelled Delta flight. I am finally home. I am still testing positive, but thankfully, my DH is still testing negative and has no symptoms. Unfortunately, my adult son who lives with us, tested positive on Monday before either my DH or I got home, so my DH is trying to stay away from both of us and masks are required in the house right now. I did test positive on the ship and had to isolate on the ship, Because it was late in the sailing, they let me stay in our suite as it was already a "sick cabin" and they gave my DH a balcony cabin. More than 25 people were "extracted" (their words, not mine) from Quantum on Monday, by the US Dept of Health and sent in many different directions in around six or so shuttles. Some of us were headed to a hotel, which we had to book on our own, to finish our initial isolation before we could fly home, others were going to parking lots to pick up their cars and drive themselves home. We considered driving but it would have been over 45 hours of driving time and it likely would have caused my DH to catch Covid from me being confined all that time, so I sent him home for his important meeting. We made sure we booked a hotel that we called directly to confirm they were offering room service, as the first two we looked at hasn't started it back up since Covid. I was able to rebook a flight home, getting the last first class seat and am waiting for Delta to refund my miles from the cancelled flight. New flight was a ridiculous amount of miles, so cash it was and a lot! Thanks for all the posts before when I was feeling stressed and sick. I am improving, though have no sense of smell or taste. I am just happy to be home. ๐Ÿ™‚
