Adventure of the Seas My Time Dining Nightmare.
poocher replied to yogimax's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We had MTD on Harmony in March, reservations for 6:45 every night. Never waited more than 10 minutes and after night 2, staff just smiled & waved us in. Same table/staff each night. -
Testing Positive - without Cruise w Confidence Program
poocher replied to robmtx's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sorry, but many are suffering much worse than partial loss of smell. So it’s just an inconvenience for you. But for my father-in-law who died from it and my mother-in-law who is now confined to a (very nice clean) nursing facility because she needs 24/7 care, it’s more than that. I do not disagree that we have to try to get back to some level of normalcy but the steps taken were, IMHO, out of an abundance of caution. Yes sometimes an over abundance but not just to inconvenience us. -
As you do not live in the same household, the other 2 guests could still cruise. You have a couple of options: 1. Make no changes and NO SHOW the positive guest. That person will receive a refund of all prepaid items plus port taxes and fees but NOT their cruise fare. If insurance was purchased, they MAY get a portion returned in the form of a Future Cruise Credit. 2. Cancel the positive person. They will receive a refund/FCC for their portion of the cruise price BUT the other 2 will have their fares repriced and likely increase. 3. Everyone cancel based on the positive test result & get a full refund.

Coffee Card - worth purchasing in advance ?
poocher replied to Elle_Bi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes it is 10 cups NOT unlimited. If you are looking for all the espresso/coffee you can drink, you have to buy at least the Refreshment Package. -
Coffee Card - worth purchasing in advance ?
poocher replied to Elle_Bi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
As others have said here, only the deluxe beverage package (the one with the alcohol!) has a requirement that all adults in a cabin purchase it and there are ways around that too. You are purchasing a card not a package and can share it as you choose. And you can also buy your son the soda package without having to purchase it for you or your husband. -

Coffee card will only get you coffee so not sure why you’d want it extended to kids who don’t drink it? My understanding is you can buy coffee with the card for anyone so you & your husband could share it. -
Virgin cruises Adult only cruise commercial

My kids, now 37 & 32, received more than 1 rap on their coolies growing up. It was not corporal punishment just an attention getter. I didn’t hurt them. Just a firm hand on the fleshy part of their butts. More often than not, using their full given name was enough but when it wasnt, a quick rap stopped the behavior. Both are now fully functional adults. -
Didn’t find it particularly interesting to watch & the drink went right in the trash. Gotta be a better use of that space.

Can gratuities be paid upon boarding?
poocher replied to tallgirl97's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not sure why you’d want to wait til you board. Price doesn’t change & its much easier to prepay as a part of your cruise fare. Unless you don’t WANT to pay it 90 days before. -
That is a fair point but I’m guessing they set the one drink per card at a time to cut down on package sharing. You’ll never stop it completely but they do try. As I said, if you get to know a bartender, rules can be bent:

Reminds me of the old universal Orlando commercial “If I have to hug another princess, I’m gonna hurl!” Hysterical -
Does anyone have the dining room menus from Symphony?
poocher replied to stephiek814's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Menus are readily available in the app. Pick any Symphony sailing, click on dining, main dining room, menus. Really they are pretty standard throughout the fleet so any sailing of the same length as yours will probably be accurate. -

Favorite/Least favorite WJ buffet items?
poocher replied to baelor's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If you want really fluffy scrambled eggs, microwave them. I use a coffee mug, egg salt & pepper, scramble well. My microwave need 1:30 for perfect (you will need to test yours). Egg is light & fluffy & the perfect shape for a breakfast sandwich. Toast an English muffin or bagel, add cheese & bacon, ham, sausage. You could add any of these ingredients to the egg first, veggies, whatever you like. Sooo easy and soooo good! -
Arriving late, I’d book an MVO area hotel and shuttle in the next morning.

does Royal usually have a 4th of July sale?
poocher replied to mafig's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They’ll have something. How much of an actual sale it’ll be is still to be determined. -
Loyal to Royal, but would a one-off Disney be worthwhile?
poocher replied to TBone2K's topic in Royal Caribbean International
For 3x the price, sail Royal & use the difference to visit the Mouse. -
And you could take your card & give the drink away too. Under most circumstances, you need your wife’s card to get her a drink. I’m sorry this is inconvenient for you but it is what it is.

Be nice to the bartenders. Bring her card. I spent most of my drinking time in the solarium. After the second day, the bartender knew me & my family AND our cabin #. Less card flashing after that. BTW when you ask a question, just because you don’t like the answers doesn’t make them rude.
