  1. Oh my, what a morning! I'm glad your tests were ok, and I do suspect you'll feel it more tomorrow. I think you deserve one day on the Care List at a minimum.
  2. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll salute the Red Cross for what they do in disaster areas. I don' scribble and I'm not a big fan of whiskey. Funny quote. I don't like regular Hollandaise, but maybe this is different. The drink looks good and pass on the wine. I have not been to Falmouth. 2 good days in history. Rain has finally stopped after all day rain yesterday. I don't know if hydroplaning was a cause, but there was a terrible accident between an 18-wheeler and 2 cars. People in the one car were ok, but 5 people in the other car were killed, including an infant. I'm very sleep again today, after about 3.5 hours of sleep. The contractor called this AM and the cleaning crew won't be here until next week. I'm still working on the dining room. I have 2 built in cabinets that flank the fireplace, and the glassware in them is dusty and needs to be cleaned (and maybe some gotten rid of). I've taken some ibuprofen for my poor overused left leg, so hopefully it will feel better. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the nice Falmouth photos. @Mr. Boston Nice of you to help out your replacement. @RedneckBob Enjoy snorkeling in Grand Turk! @grapau27 Nice photos from Weymouth. No worries on it being Portland as the port. @aliaschief Bruce, that was quite the spread! @Crazy For Cats Safe trip home. I've mainly traveled with BFF and we've never been separated. @Niagarawine Sorry to hear you need knee surgery. I was told I do too, but with upcoming back surgery, the knee is on the back burner. @RMLincoln It sounds like you have great memories from that heritage immersion. I'm sorry to hear that DSIL has had a decline. Hopefully she rallies with holding the radiation a while. @ger_77 Congrats on booking that TA. @Nickelpenny Obviously you must be a talented teacher. even though not trained as one. Great on the cruise savings. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  4. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll salute Diabetes Alert Day, having worked with people with diabetes for many years. Epilepsy awareness is important. I hope all live long and prosper (said in my best Spock voice). Great quote. I like the meal, maybe on the drink, and I can't afford the wine. I haven't been to Saipan. Dr. Salk was at the University of Pittsburgh from 1947-1954. I have older nurse acquaintances who worked with him as the vaccine started being given in clinical trials. It's cloudy and has been raining all day. I, like many of you, woke up to the news of the terrible Baltimore bridge collapse. It sounds like the one positive is that the crew of the container ship gave a mayday and traffic was halted immediately. It looks like power went out on the ship right before the crash. Reportedly they dropped anchor too. Prayers for those lost and their families, as well as the tireless work of the first responders. I had a restless night and got about 3.5 hours of sleep. I'm just back from PT. I couldn't do any standing exercises due to pain, but tried to do everything else. I hope I can hang in there until surgery. @RedneckBob Enjoy your cruise and thanks for the photos. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad made it safely to Clearwater and had a nice dinner with Morgan and her boyfriend. @marshhawk I hope the new pain med will help DH and that the Neurologist has some options for your arm pain. @cat shepard Very good news about your Sister's increased activity. @smitty34877 So sad to hear of another senseless death of a police officer. @kazu Wonderful photos of Maverick. I hope Ivan gets some relief after his shot today. @Seasick Sailor I hope Allen gets approved for the medication, and that his lab work improves. @AncientWanderer Prayers for DGD's scarlet fever and for your DH's issue with a heart aneurysm. @Haljo1935 My insurance also says my 7/day Gabapentin is over their quantity limit. So I use GoodRx and don't go through the insurance. I'm getting 630 capsules for 90 days and it's about $38 with GoodRx. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great Saipan and Tinian photos. @kochleffel I have a mental picture of you announcing "Hear ye, Hear ye"! @Vict0riann Good news that the fracture is minor, and i hope DD behaves. I hope Pat's appointment is uneventful. @rafinmd Beautiful sunrise. A symbol of hope. @LAFFNVEGAS Happy Anniversary! @0106 Thanks for the information. @ger_77 Wow, on all the beautiful blankets! @bennybear Great photos of the bluebird. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating. In honor of Live Long and Prosper Day, a photo of me and Leonard Nimoy taken many years ago.

  6. Joy, I hope things get better with Allen. Could one of his meds be causing the low sodium? It's hard to replete Vitamin D with just diet, and multivitamins don't have enough. I'm surprised the nephrologist didn't prescribe something for the low Vitamin D. Good to hear, Debbie. Lenda, hopefully neither the RA or the uveitis flares up. Rheumatology said they usually do 6 weeks total, so it's only a week more. At the end of the tour through the Titanic museum, you find out what happened to your person by calling up their name via a kiosk. Below is a photo of the information about Hannah.

  8. Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily @kazu @richwmn and maps @rafinmd. I remember Bed-In for Peace. I'll salute Greek independence and Holi. I think Scott Hamilton is referring to himself and his childhood intestinal illness that kept him from growing much, yet he became a renowned gymnast. Then he had cancer and a brain tumor. I don't like roasted red peppers, so pass on the meal. Also pass on the drink and wine. I was in Cobh for the first time last year on my TA in 2023. 2 good days in history. It's a nice day here. Already 56F and sunny. I slept about 3 hours. I have a call in to schedule my surgery date, and I've already made a pre-op appointment with my PCP. I was just going through the medication instructions, and was surprised to see my biologic medication has to be held 1 week prior and 6 weeks after the procedure! I've just message my Rheumatologist. Otherwise still trying to declutter. I have a donation pickup on Wednesday. No word from the contractor, although the cleaner is supposed to be here Wednesday or Thursday. @seagarsmoker Congrats on the cruise. I'd like to do a PC cruise again. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad DD made it safely there after that long drive. Great photos from Cobh and Blarney Castle. @kazu I hope your physio can come up with a good plan for you. Good news on the refund on the cancelled excursion. Thanks for the Cobh photos. @aliaschief Sorry to hear you are ailing. I hope you feel better soon. @smitty34877 I admire Tana's fortitude in trying to get to the kitchen, despite how hard it must have been! Prayers for her, and you. @cat shepard Happy Birthday to your sister! @Mtn2Sea Nice photos. @Nickelpenny Sadly, Fitbits don't have a great track record. I look odd with my Apple watch on one wrist and a Fitbit on the other. That was before Apple added more detailed sleep tracing to the watch. If/when the Fitbit dies, I won't replace it. @Seasick Sailor I hope Allen's Nephrology appointment went well. @ottahand7 That wine tasting sounded like a fun time. @marshhawk Don is a difficult patient for his caregivers, from the sounds of it. @rafinmd Great sunset photo! @RMLincoln I'm glad you two enjoyed your day out yesterday. @Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos. @grapau27 Hugs to Sarah, Pauline and you. Awful conduct by Sarah's mam. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  10. I saw this on the news just a bit ago. They made it sound like are now in recovery mode as opposed to rescue mode. Sad. Your coasters are great. Also congrats to DH on the comprehensive job he's done on the book. And yay for including Annie in there! Well, just saw on social media that my hair salon is closing. Boo-hiss. The owner is going to a salon out in the suburbs. But the good news is that there is another salon in the same block, and most of the folks from mine, including my guy, are going there.
  11. I guess I've been bad. My last post is hidden 😲.
  12. I saw this on the news just a half hour ago. Sadly they made it seem they are now in recovery mode, rather than search mode. Your coasters are great. Also congrats to DH on the comprehensive job he's done on the book. And yay for including Annie in there! Well, just saw on the Book of Faces that my hair salon is closing. Boo-hiss. The owner is going to a salon out in the suburbs. But the good news is that there is another salon in the same block, and most of the folks from mine, including my guy, are going there.
  13. My quads were weak and a reason I started PT last July, because of difficulty climbing stairs. That was before all this. I had started to get stronger, then when the leg pain got bad, I had to stop most of the strengthening exercises. When I felt good initially, after the injection, I started back on things like sit to stand. I've persevered, even with the pain back, as I want to be as good as I can manage before the surgery.
  14. Now I can go throw clothes in the dryer! I may watch the other sail aways in a bit.
  15. Patricia, I'm having a MIS right L3-:L4, L4-L5 foraminotomy, using a tubular retractor. That way there will be progressive dilation of the soft tissues, as opposed to cutting directly through the muscles. She said she wasn't using a camera, so I don't know how you see what you're doing! I did read that a microscope can be used. Oh sorry to hear that River isn't feeling well and made a big deal about a Covid test. Has she ever had one? Is she worried that it will hurt? I'm in a study right now where I do 2 nasal swabs a week for 8 weeks and mail them away. They are seeing if wearing a health watch monitor, the data correlates in any way with the swabs. I'm done with my awful head and chest cold, so hopefully I develop nothing, especially before surgery. I'm going to be careful and mask at any medical appointments and the grocery store, and maybe PT if I continue. Lenda, I've been accumulating stuff in preparation. BFF gave me his DD DF's walker. I bought slip on shoes (wearing them today for the first time), and a long shoe horn. I've got grabbers, a shower seat and a suction grab bar to put in the downstairs walk in shower. I worry about stuff like laundry, although BFF did both of ours in Germany when I had fallen on the TA nad couldn't navigate the steps to his cousin's basement. I know he will do anything he can to help me, including staying here if needed.
  16. Checking in, but my PC is being flaky and won't open PTZ website. I'll have to use my phone.
  17. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Blessed Palm Sunday to those who celebrate. I'll salute all 3 days. The quote is true. I've never had shrimp tacos, but I would try one if someone made it for me. I like the pseudotini. I haven't been to Kiriwina Island. 3 good days in history. It started out in the 20's this AM, but is now 38 and sunny. It was not a good night; I had a lot of pain and have been up since 4AM (only about 2.5 hours sleep). I think I dreamed I exercised, which resulted in pain. The pain was almost 10/10 this morning, but has eased off now. I want to do laundry today. I have a choice of surgical dates in April, but think I'll pick April 22, since I need to get the house together and organized somewhat before surgery. And make some soups and chili that I can freeze and have at hand. I've been watching videos by EquipMeOT on YouTube (she's very good), who has a lot of practical information (like using a walker turned backwards over the commode as a support). I've ordered a few adaptive things from Amazon. Not being able to bend or twist will make a lot of things hard to do. I think I'll ask BFF to stay a day or two right after surgery. @RedneckBob Bon Voyage on part 2 of cruising! @grapau27 Thank you for the link. @aliaschief Great photos! @kazu I hope it's not too hard to get your excursion credit. I hope your weather improves soon. @StLouisCruisers Prayers for safe travels for DD. Nice photos from PNG. @cat shepard So good to hear that your Sister got good rest last night. That will help the healing. @smitty34877 I'm glad the sump pump is working; I grew up with one in NJ, after we had French drains put in. Continued prayers for Tana, you and the family. @RMLincoln Enjoy going to the playhouse, and a meal out or home for leftovers. @marshhawk Yay, for another sale. I wonder if your "friend" is just lonely? Your coffee meme is me! @Haljo1935 Hugs to you and your family on this difficult day. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
