  1. Yes! I suppose a ship has to be in the right spot to get that zoom.
  2. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like chip and dip if it's tortilla chips and salsa. No kitten to cuddle here. Excellent quote. The meal sounds good. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Tolanaro. 3 good days in history; I love the Messiah and have gone to many performances of it. It's chilly here and rained overnight. It's clearing up. Our town is having an Easter Egg hunt, so I don't know if that went off. Rain date is tomorrow. I slept better last night, getting about 5 hours. The contractor is having the house cleaners come next week. That way I can try to get things put back in place before the surgery. Thank you for all your kind wishes about that. So much sadness in the world, especially the last 24 hours. Prayers for all. @summer slope Thanks for the link to the first drink ingredient, as I had no idea what it was. @kazu Ugh, sorry to hear the bad weather continues for you. Stay in and stay safe. @smitty34877 I hope no leaks or flooding for you! @dfish Thanks for the recipes. I'm glad the weather isn't keeping Sue from picking up River; enjoy having her with you. @cat shepard Good news on your Sister going home today. @marshhawk Congrats on the sale. I hope the hospital lasers get repaired so DH can get his vein problem fixed. @Heartgrove Great photos of Sam, and Juno. @Seasick Sailor I heard about that accident. So sad. A lot of others injured too. @RMLincoln Thanks. Before I tried out the injection, I started collecting things. I have a grabber, bought a pair of slip in shoes and a long handled shoe horn. I was reading the very comprehensive package put together by the NS's surgery prep RN and somewhat dismayed to hear no driving for 2 weeks. No bending, twisting or lifting more than 5 lbs for 6 weeks! I think that will be the hardest part to follow. Happy Heavenly Birthday to your DM! Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  4. Well, I am scheduled for surgery likely on April 22. The surgeon didn't think another injection would be of benefit long term. There are 2 types of surgery. One involves a big incision, and to get to the area of interest a lot of muscles have to be peeled away from the spine. As a result that area may remain weaker and movement of the vertebrae may occur. The other procedure is more minimally invasive and involves a tubular retractor being inserted through a small incision and tools being passed through that. I chose that one, as did the doctor. Regardless, no driving for 2 weeks. No bending, twisting and no lifting more than 5 lbs for 6 weeks. No PT for 6 weeks. I need to get bloodwork, CXR and EKG done, as well as a pre-op exam by my PCP. And check with my Cardiologist and Rheumatologist. Fun times!
  5. Oh my, so much going on in the world today, and I was out of the loop until now. Prayers for the Princess of Wales as she fights cancer. Her frank talk was brave and i hope she can undergo her treatment and recovery in peace. Prayers for her and her family. Then the steam line bursting on NA, and the death of 2 crew members. Prayers for their families, and the other crew. And the shooting at a concert in Moscow, with 40 killed and over 100 injured.
  6. Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily @kazu@richwmn and @rafinmd. Be as young as feel and goof off today. They used to sell flowers at work to support cancer research. Good quote. I don't like coconut (a texture thing), so I'll pass on the meal. I'll take the drink and wine. I've had Coppola's cabinet sauvignon. I haven't been to Falmouth. 2 good days in history. I can hardly keep my eyes open. I need a nap (I'm back finishing this after an hour nap). I slept about 3-1/2 hours. I'll be off to my appointment in a half hour. @grapau27 I'm glad you're going to relax today. @kazu Sorry about the port change. Did they tell you why? @aliaschief Beautiful night. Thanks for sharing. @seagarsmoker @GTVCRUISER @Nickelpenny @sailingdutchy @ottahand7 Thanks for the Falmouth photos. @Cruzin Terri I hope you get relief from the injection. @smitty34877 That was so nice of you to reunite the sisters. @cat shepard Good news about your sister. I hope she does what she needs to and it's not too hard for Brayden. @RMLincoln I hope the oncologist has a simple plan re DH's PSA. Growing up along the Atlantic Ocean, my DM and I walked on the Boardwalk in our finery after church on Easter Sunday. I have a favorite photo from one of those times. @Heartgrove I'm glad Sam is still hanging in there. Wow, he's a big guy! @Vict0riann Sorry DD isn't behaving herself. I hope she doesn't worsen things. @Overhead Fred Lovely flowers. I haven't been able to make it to Keukenhof yet. Gotta run! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  8. I find that men don't routinely use lotion. I had been told to use CeraVe, but what I use most is baby oil gel (not the runny regular baby oil) right after showering. It works for me. Also don't take too hot a shower. Very sad Roy. Envelope found down between the seat and car floor; not visible but I put my hand down there and found it. Yay, as it had a check in it! Yum, that cake looks great. My first ever taste of Black Forest Cake was in the Black Forest in 2003, while on a scenic tour of Southern Germany with BFF's aunt and uncle. @Crazy For Cats Great photos. Makes me want to visit (I've never been). @Seasick Sailor Prayers for Allen.
  9. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll salute incredible kids, the Big Bang, and companies that care. The quote is probably true, but life can be hard after 70 too. I like the meal and drink, pass on the wine. I haven't been to Salerno. 3 good days in history. It's sunny, but chilly here. At least the wind has finally died down some, but it's still breezy. I had a busy morning, after only 2.5 hours of sleep. I had a video conference with my financial planner; he said he hates to say it, but I should spend more money! That's why I need to get better, so I can travel. And maybe buy a new car; mine is 9 years old, but only 30k miles. Then I went to PT, but stopped at the PO. I have a mystery - I had a small package and 3 envelopes when I left the house, but one envelope was missing when I got to the PO. I've looked in the car, the garage, the yard. I'll have to look again once I recover a bit. I'm trying to work hard at PT despite the leg pain, in case I end up needing surgery. Tomorrow I see a UroGyne in the AM and the Neurosurgeon in the afternoon. Sadly, they are investigating that devastating fire as a possible arson. I don't know if that's just protocol or if they suspect something. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad the annual derm checkups went well. I need to find a dermatologist; BFF has one but I think he only does skin cancer care. @Crazy For Cats Nice photos, Jake. I'm glad this time your Tamarind dinner was better. @aliaschief The light and laser show sounds awesome! I hope you see it. @dfish I'm sorry the PT person didn't think you'd made any progress. What's next? @Nickelpenny I'm glad you have a plan and that the surgery will be less extensive. Prayers it has you back to your normal self. @marshhawk I'm glad you were able to do some work, and talk to people. @kazu I hope the physio helps you. It seems so many of us have similar issues. How about I put you on the rotation? @ottahand7 Good that John got help for his knee and the spot on his ear is nothing to worry about. @Haljo1935 Nice photos. @Seasick Sailor I hope Allen got some relief for his eczema. BFF and I will drive to Erie and go to a friend's house. I hope the roads won't be too bad. @RMLincoln You've got a lot going on! Probably hard to shut the brain off to go to sleep. @quilty964 Great socks! @rafinmd Good luck with the FD taxes. Sorry to hear of the death of the 15yo in a fire. @Cruzin Terri Nice to see you post. Sorry to hear about the rotator cuff tear. For any chronic autoimmune disease, weaning the Prednisone slowly is a must to prevent repeat flares. And sometimes they occur anyway and the dose has to go up a bit again for a while. Hang in there. The Rheumatologist is an expert at managing PMR, so you're in good hands. @Vict0riann Good news about your DD. The bones must be in a good position to heal on their own. Will she be in a sling for a while? I'm glad you will be able to cruise. @Quartzsite Cruiser @bennybear Thanks for the Salerno photos. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating. Off to search the car and garage!

  12. Some awful news from a town not too far from here. There was a terrible fire around midnight. The Mother and 2 children got out (ages 10 and 1), helped by a neighbor and policeman with a ladder put up to the 2nd floor. The children were flown to Children's Hospital. But sadly the Father and 4 children, ages 7,6,3 and 1 month, perished. The house next door also burned down and even a house across the street had its siding melt from the heat. There was also some problem with little water from the nearby fire hydrant. They just had the devastated Grandfather on the news. So very sad. Prayers for the family.
  13. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Thanks @kazu and @rafinmd. I'm a Libra. I hope we can all try to be happy. Interesting about Dogs in Yellow. It's also World Oral Health Day. Great quote by Franklin. The crustless quiche is low carb and something I've made before. I'll pass on the drink, and the wine is a touch $$ for me. I haven't been to Ile de Mayotte. 2 good days in history. It's again very windy here, and 45F. I hope to see the sun at some point. Nothing new with me. I slept about 4 hours. Same pain/tingling in the leg. I have no appointments today, so I can just take it easy. I'm gathering stuff for donation. Still waiting for a replacement radiator to be found, and the final cleaning, so I haven't put most stuff back in the 3 rooms, and the house looks like a disaster area. @aliaschief Thanks for the Manila and onboard photos. @Haljo1935 I hope the talk with your boss and his boss goes well. @Denise T Good to hear that Chase is healing well. @summer slope and @cat shepard Thanks for the drink and wine info. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. @Nickelpenny Sorry to hear the result of the evaluation by the PT therapist. I thought my issue might be my hip at first, but x-rays were fine. And during my period of feeling better, and moving more, the knees started to hurt! So I join you in needing a new skeleton. @marshhawk I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner out and the symphony. @rafinmd Your alternative meal would suit me. I hope the FD tax return process isn't too arduous. @kazu I hope you get some answers today that help your pain. @bennybear Prayers for your DS today. @HAL Sailer I hope you and DH are doing ok. @mamaofami Thinking of you and Sam. Prayers for the Care List and Cheeres for those Celebrating.

  15. Elizabeth, I started on Gabapentin about 4 years ago when taking Humira for my eye condition caused a burning sensation in my arms and legs. I tolerated it pretty well, taking 4 a day (more made be stumble around). I tried going off last year, but the burning came back. With this new nerve compression issue, the neurosurgeon increased me to 7 a day. I don't think I have any bad effect, but it hasn't really helped the nerve pain. Oh, the mischievous look on her face! Thanks for sharing the others as well. Oh no! I hope no damage occurred. That sounds like what I had when my radiator sprang a leak during the night, sending water onto the hardwood floors. And great photos from Colombo. I love the elephant pictures.
  16. If you go under your profile, click on account settings, then signature, at the top of that box that comes up it says "view signatures?". You can toggle that to on to see other people's signatures.
  17. Good morning. Thanks for the FR/Daily @kazu @richwmn and maps @rafinmd. I'll salute certified nurses. No one here to read to me or for me to read to. I try to be a good client to the businesses I deal with. I agree with the quote; a good friend will tell you things to your face. I like the meal and the drink. Pass on the wine. I haven't been to Colombo. It's cold, very windy, and snowed enough to make some roads slick this morning, causing accidents. I had a tough day yesterday seeing my friends, in that my walking was very painful. We went to see the movie One Life, the true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 Jewish children from N-a-z-i-occupied Czechoslovakia. The theater had reclining seats and I couldn't find any way to sit that didn't cause more pain. Then we went out to dinner, then took them to the airport. I slept about 3.5 hours. Today is not as bad so far, but I'm discouraged that the injection only gave me pain relief for 2 weeks, before symptoms started to come back. I'm heading to PT shortly. @StLouisCruisers Another lovely tree and decorations by DD. @Haljo1935 I'm sorry you're dealing with so many issues, and no clear path of what to do about most of them. I hope you can get the LOA and Accommodation. Could you qualify for Social Security disability? @0106 I thought I heard about a program here of kids reading to cats, although I can't see cats being very attentive! @smitty34877 I hope Tana is resting more comfortably and that you are doing well. @grapau27 I can believe Sarah and Pauline are angry. And it is so cruel that Sarah was not mentioned in the obit. She is fortunate to have you and Pauline in her life. @cat shepard DSis must be doing well to possibly be discharged this Saturday. I hope she will follow through with what she needs to do at home. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the Colombo photos. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.
