Interesting Royal Up email.....
RCCLNYMETS41 replied to Shippy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Same email the last 2 cruises. Once onboard (I left bid in case notified at check in), we cancelled bid. Decided not worth hassle & wanted to get settled in to cabin. -
This reminds me of the theme dinner nights they use to have. I wish they would also bring back the overall ambiance of the theme...waiters in themed attire, napkins folded (ie Italy was a boot shape)...justy the little extras to enhance the experience. We were just on Symphony with the newer menus.

On symphony 2 weeks ago I was still able to get spaghetti bolognese that was a classic on the former menus because it is offered on the kids menu so it is available.

the sandwich in the pocket 🤣

I did not get the popcorn, but it smelled like traditional movie theater popcorn

Hysterical!

On Symphony last week, they had a small bag of popcorn available before some of the shows for $2.50... All I can say is Why? (Besides the obvious Because they can.) They include soft serve, hot dogs, pizza, unlimited food, etc... so why nickel & diming for a tiny bag of popcorn? Ironically, I will grab some popcorn as I wait for the replies.

We received our 1st block in our cabin on Symphony last week. At what increments do they award the blocks?

Sea Day activities in cruise planner
RCCLNYMETS41 replied to flamingos's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We sail on the symphony in three days, and our cruise planner still has outdated scheduled information. Upcoming on day 7, is showing the baseball World Series? -
@jamon and for the North star, it’s $20 per person when out at sea because the gondola will swing out over the ocean. When in port, it only goes straight up and down. We enjoyed it in Port for aerial views of the ship.

Any other “secret” areas to know about on symphony?

Where on the website or app do I request the type of drink I would like in my cabin for the C & A perk (diamond)? I think we each get 1 bottle of something like apple juice, soda or water.

Wish me luck. It would be a nice surprise for my family if we get it. -
Live Review, Odyssey of the Seas, Dec 3-11
RCCLNYMETS41 replied to Stealthdog's topic in Royal Caribbean International
@Stealthdog Your review is awesome! Thank you for taking the time to do this all. Your description of The Book is exactly how my wife & I felt about it. Confusing story to the point of why bother, but the entertainers themselves & their talents were pretty amazing overall. Also, the Effectors is another walk-in show without reservations. (not sure if it was mentioned earlier) -
On the Odyssey in November, my wife & I found the app very helpful. We did not have an internet package. We used the app to let each other know where we were around the ship, or where we were seated if we were meeting at the Windjammer or a show. If my wife went to work out before we were meeting somewhere, she let me know that she forgot something in the cabin. Yes, it does not prompt you that you have a message, but we would just look at the app to see if there was a message. We would usually check it before leaving the cabin or before meeting up somewhere. For $2/day/person ($24 total for our 6 night), we felt it was worth getting. We didn't get it until the 2nd day, so it was not pro-rated.

Thank you for checking for the bio sheet. -
We are on Symphony Dec. 24th. Does anyone know if you can use Diamond drink vouchers for a milk shake at Johnny Rockets? I have heard yes on some ships & that it depends on the person working.

RCCLNYMETS41 replied to Stealthdog's topic in Royal Caribbean International
@StealthdogGlad your onboard. I'm so jealous. If you are interested, you should also book the NorthStar & iFly as soon as possible. If I remember correctly, NorthStar is free on port days & approx. $20 pp on sea days because they are able to swing out over the ocean. In port, it only goes straight up. -
Going on Symphony Dec 26, 2022. I booked all my shows & they appear on MY CALENDAR. Am I correct that even if I have Traditional Dining (1st seating) that it will not appear on MY CALENDAR to block off that time frame? I see on the DAILY PLANNER that it is displaying what I thought was the list of all activities for my upcoming sailing; however, I see on Day 7 it has the baseball world series showing in the Aqua Theater. Is this a replay, or is the Daily Planner not actually updated for my sailing, yet?

When I go to Find A Cruise, it flashes the old search screen & then goes to a new search screen. I like the new option to search by Date Range instead of a full month.

@StealthdogThe Odyssey was great! We sailed Nov 13th. If by chance you get the paper that lists the Captain, CD, Hotel Director etc. with their photo & bio, I would appreciate it if you could share it. It was not available my sailing as it still had the old CD on it. Enjoy your vacation. -
Port Everglades shuttle to FLL airport
RCCLNYMETS41 replied to texas bound's topic in Florida Departures
Off Odyssey a couple of weeks ago. We also did the RC shuttle for $15.95/pp, but we had Royal take our luggage off ship by putting it out night before. I think the only restriction for RC shuttle for Lauderdale is that your flight needs to be 11:30am or later departure.
